10 best moments on Triumph

Well, I'm off on another stage of life and won't be able to "lurk" quite so much on COh as I have been for my first 3 mos. Therefore I thought I'd share y'all (in gratitude) my 10 favorite moments on Triumph.

10. Watching Cath's tank solo Hami surrounded by tank corpses.

9. Killin Lusca in like 10 minutes with the Dolls in a bikini

8. My first Frostfire mish.

7. Doing Dr. Q with a team of 5 blasters, 2 tanks, and an emp that was so awesome that 5 hours just flew by!

6. Surviving, keeping up, and actually helping in a speed tf with one of the following: mojo, infy, cancer, malkore, or crimson

5. My first 3v3PvP on Friday night. Thanks for the chance!

4. EoE farming monsters in PI in prep for the Hami Raid

3. Failing and winning STF twice with Leo

2. The day someone introduced me to TW

1. One day, a friend invited me to come to Guardian to run around with him. In Atlas, a noob was spamming on broadcast, "AE mish lf healer, no need to do anything but watch and heal, cause that's what healers do." Then his buddy proclaimed him, "The best player on the server." Came back to Triumph and did a killer Khan tf with an awesome emp name IMECO who did not simply watch and heal but debuffed and attacked WHILE buffing, and THAT was the best moment I had on CoH. Because that's when i realized that the players on Triumph are AWESOME.

Thanks so much everyone for the best gaming experience ever!

basically, if you see a miki on Triumph, it's probably cute and it's probably me.

Huge thanks to cuppamanga and all the folks in the mac help forum for prolonging my borrowed time on this game.

You know what's funny mm?

You've done some of the biggest things in the game within your first 3 months. There's veteran players who still haven't done STFs or Hami raids.

I think that's a big difference with Triumph people. We love showing new people what the game REALLY has to offer. Keep jumping right in like you have been when you have more time to "lurk" again.

(Also...aww c'mon! Number 10? And Imeco is number 1?!? I don't even know what an Imeco is!!!)

Posted

Of course no one knows what an Imeco is...it is apart of the nostalgia that us in Triumph have.

Hopefully you come back MM, I would love to show you some of the red side of things and experience the pain of an LRSF.

Posted

yeah I know it is terrible and horrendous, but think way back when it all started. All the people griping.

My personal #1 would be the very first LRSF completeion in the game, including Posi popping in to congratulate thopse involved (mainly Shadow Empire folks) on the LRSF completion and to get the GMs to manually award the Annihilator badge to those involved as it was bugged in game.

The thread is still here, and is makred not to purge. I just hope it gets transferred to the new forums.

Well put Cath and 100% true. We have some truly great people here on Triumph. That makes such a big difference in the fun factor of an MMO.

This post got me to thinking back over the years on Triumph. There are too many "best" moments to list. It's hard to choose between being on a great team of vets accomplishing things like the (some say) "impossible" MSTF, or laughing so hard that it hurts watching Foley's "creative" use TP foe to fill ICON and enh stores with baddies for their unsuspecting customers.

The one common theme throughout those memories are the people. They are what make the game fun.

P.S. Yah I agree with Cath... Imeco at 1? There is something just wrong with that.

Imeco is always #1 in my books! But I also know what an Imeco is and no I'm not telling!

I think my "#1" moment was when I killed Helmholtz in RV with an (LOL) eng/dev blaster. Of course I got the beating of my life from him and his friends...but it was worth it since his friends later became my friends!

Lol, Imeco's no.1 mainly because I happened to team with him the day that I went to another server and realized that the "best" of them doesn't hold a candle to who we have on Triumph. Plus he's an emp, my first and fav toon is an emp. Gave me hope to know that a "healer" can be more than a buffbot.

Don't feel so bad, your no.10 moment beat out my first Eden trial, Watching the carnage of a fake AE farm Crimson stocked with decked out longbows and impossible AVs, judging random CC in Atlas for other SG, etc. etc. Plus yours was one of those NINETHOUUUUUSSSSAAAAND!!!! moments. I get those moments during speed tfs too when I see peeps solo avs or huge groups of aggro.

A huge amount of wht I've done (countless TFs) is almost entirely thansk to TW. I think i have snow globe to thank for making that. Thanks snow globe!

*singing: "Memory/All alone in the moonlight..."*

Wow, there's a lot of cool stuff that's happened over the years here in the game and on Triumph.

My list in no particular order:

1. Our first two base raids with Alpha Team. None of us PvP'ed, none of us knew squat and we had the greatest time ever! I can still hear Pyrecat crying about how my stormie kept his fire tank pinned to the wall of the infirmary where we found him trying to take out our rezzer.

2. Heather's Turkey Hunt in WB: It was kinda bittersweet actually. It was a big event at Thanksgiving and ExLibris and Niviene came out to be guest turkeys! Sadly, it was one of our last events before i13 came out and made events like this pointless. The Christmas event the year before with Lighthouse and Ex was a good one too. We had fun coming up with PvP/holiday titles! "I Will Sleigh You" for example. It's always super gratifying to host an event and have a ton of people show up (even if it's just for the titles).

3. An SG LRSF victory. We set this up, none of us ever having done it before, and picked up an extra brute to fill out the team. We got to the end and were doing the snipe method and it just wasn't working. Lots of death and finally the negative Nelly brute quit. From there we just amped up on vengeance and rushed the platform and wound up successful!

4. Our first Faathim TF. Again, none of us had done this before and the AV was destroying us. Finally, we worked out a decent plan and won the day.

5. The Haunted House on Test with the PvPEC. Okay, not a Triumph event, but it was so much fun! Especially when Ghost Widow made a guest appearance and dropped COT and GMs all around. It took me over a week to build the HH and people were super excited about being in it. I know a lot of people looked at base design and raiding in a whole new light after this event.

6. In Siren's Call trying to give my bounty to my pal, Evil Mystery, while on my mind/sonic. Or maybe the first time I was able to kill her? The unhide sound still makes me jump out of my skin.

7. My first few Eden trials. Back when it was actually pretty hard. Once you lost control of the spawns at the first wall, you could never get it back.

8. Winning a team FFA event with Psyrene while playing my necro/dark MM. I'm still not sure how that happened.

9. Playing the World War Mini finale and seeing a little "me" running around.

10. Annoying the crap out of Shocker with my never ending supply of web grenades in RV.

Glad I could make your list :-)

After the Earl debocle you really did prove to be the best newer player I've teamed with.

Can't wait for your triumphant return to us! I'll still be around :-p

Some of my best Triumph memories:

Being part of a single mission that involved five characters hitting the level cap. Remember that one, Cat?

The first All-Defenders, All Defender ATs (there were only 8 then) STF. We were wondering if it could be done at all (and more than a few forum posts assured us we were going to fail, bigtime). Of course, it was an absurd cakewalk...

My first MSTF run. As we neared the end, every time someone would get smashed into the orange zone on their health bar, I felt my heart pound and the blood drain from my face. When Recluse faceplanted and the mission completion graphic went up, I let out a pent-up breath, physically and emotionally drained. Immersion at its best...

Having the first wave of Carnies (our Carnival of Light SG) recognized for what they were at a train station in Steel. That was before the Jester costume pieces, and we were all doing our best to make Carnie costumes. Another player recognized us and got into the spirit of things, calling out in Local to "watch out for the Carnies!" Had a huge, stupid grin on my face.

Being told by some of the best PvP'ers in the game that "you're doing okay" in the old Arena League play. They were probably being generous, but it was a nice thing for this RP'er to hear. A pity PvP has become so awful...

And so many more...

Do not forgot Triumph PvPers were number one in the first season of PvP finals on Test.

We are the best pantless server here on CoH!

Some best moments for me:
Joining the Scions.
Joining HUB
Being asked to join HKS to test doing the new Hami o Raids.
Finding out the hard way on the TW Hami O raid last month, I'm a veteran now. Whoa!
Having my RL friend join the game and finally got him to join me on some TFs run. Best time ever!

Are you referring to when OS won the PvPEC Super Mixed Pentad? That was a pretty exciting match!

Yes I am. OS did Triumph proud. And shut up the Freedum folks on how elite they were on PvP.

Hawt! This would have to go in my list too..

I remember my first base raid experience...Panther Ink and Helm invited me to raid against Debt Brigade and it was a blast! It was when I met one of my favorite peoples....Az! (although her troller was a pain in the tooshie and i swore I would kill it!)

What a shame that you're leaving! I was so touched all those times I called for support and you volunteered your emp-ing services. It broke my heart that someone else responded faster. I hope you'll keep an eye out for the mighty Grog if/when you return to our friendly (and pantless) server.

If my memory serves me, it was Shocker, Avid, Squints, Cinder and Strike, wasn't it? Last I checked, they all were based on Triumph at the time.

I know Moe at least was on that team, was Ownage on the one that lost then? Idk there were two teams but anyway let's not pretend like test players are pvp'ing to rep a server they most likely don't care about other than as a base for PLing things.
