Macros do very little in this game in general. About the only major use they have in CoH is tray switching for Kheldians who change forms.

I'm really not sure why you'd think they'd do much for this or any TF.

They are also good for giving instructions at Hami Raids. Not that I've paid attention for a while to those instructions, since I already know what to do when. I generally look at them casually to see if there is something that has changed that I'm not aware of.

But I usually get that information in a global channel anyway, so the Macros are still kinda ignored by me.

If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

I qualify "can spam text one message at a time" as "do very little" in the scope of game macro systems.

They do very little that can affect actual game play directly.

Not disagreeing with you at all. Just giving another example of a use they have aside from tray switching for Khelds.

Maybe Galetta meant macros/binds for quick targeting? These might help saving few seconds, while you trying to find generals, crystals, etc. Otherwise macros don't provide any advantage.

I'm using the following bind for targetting on ITF/LGTF/STF/5TF/Hami:

NUMPAD0 "targetcustomnext "security chief"$$targetcustomnext Infernia$$targetcustomnext Glacia$$targetcustomnext "General"$$targetcustomnext mending$$targetcustomnext crystal$$targetcustomnext Franz$$targetcustomnext Honoree"

My macro looks like this:
numpad0 tell@choake "Stop going afk you lazy sod"$$teamkick @choake

Usually saves a few minutes per TF by using that.

I don't know if this is a brag or a sheepish admission, but I generally am able to identify which Generals is in their spawns just based on familiarity with the spwan layouts. The only time I need to poke around for them is if I'm late to the scrum. In such a case I usually just /assist off of someone I expect to have him targeted. If everyone is off and away, I know not to bother.

My laziness knows no bounds. I usually just target something 'oh close enough' and go with the AoEs. There's usually a General in there somewhere...once everything else has dropped he'll reveal himself. Or the counter will drop by one on the navigation and I can run off.

Thread... arise from your grave!

Seriously, though, this is so appropriate to the original topic.

Lord Winter defeated by a team of 6

I know, I know, it's a team of 7, but Pum was AFK when we started, and by the time he got back the present/portal was gone, so he never made it in the zone. There were no other teams (or solo characters) in the zone.

For a while it didn't look like we were going to pull it off, and as you can see we came in really close to the wire.

Go, nerfable people!

I don't see the problem. It's clear that the people involved were going for a "normal run" ITF.

Why else would they have two khelds with them?
