So will they ever fix the Ancillary pools for Scrappers, or will they always suck?

They will suck I mean I never take focus acc any more it is no longer worth the cost of endurance for the return I will stick with tactics

Conserve power is like the main power I take on all my scrappers the exception is my dm/da/dark scrapper and caltrops I took on my spines/da to stack with the aoe and stuff

I don't think they suck. I absolutely LOVE have Focused Accuracy on my BS/WP (since he can stomach the freakish endurance cost). And I've never looked back since I've taken Energy Torrent. However, little tweaks could be made. And I think we need elemental APPs, especially now that Scrappers have Fiery Melee/Aura.

I think they're merely limited, not bad... But I only really have experience with Body Mastery.

I'd like it if Scrapper APPs actually added something substantive to the AT like the APPs and PPPs do for every other AT out there.

Controllers and Defenders get some pretty hefty survivability, damage, and utility. Blasters get more damage and more survivability. Scrappers just get anemic ranged attacks, anemic and largely useless holds, and some ridiculously expensive and only marginally useful self buffs. Thanks to how the AT modifiers work, even if we did ever get some decent debuffs from the APPs, the numbers for them would be atrocious (re: Tanker Melt Armor). It's honestly an issue with how the APPs are implemented combined with the gross disparity between the various AT modifiers where things besides damage are concerned, which is even more minor when you consider how much force multiplication is available to the ATs that aren't supposed to be damage power houses. They add vast quantities of effectiveness to Blasters, Controllers, and Defenders. They do painfully little for Tankers and almost nothing for Scrappers.

Honestly, the only APP on Scrappers that I've found to be useful is Body Mastery, and only because of Conserve Power. And maybe the AoE.

Weapons mastery seems to me to have been hastily thrown together - the only two powers that seem remotely useful are Caltrops and Web Grenade, but why immobilize your opponent when you can just kill them?

I had dark for a while on my Claws/Dark, for theme, but the redraw drove me nuts and I found myself just ignoring my ancillaries and killing stuff just as efficiently.

I'd love to have some of the Tanker ancillaries.

(Edit: On a side note, I do appreciate Exploding Shuriken for its extreme campiness factor.)

It'd be nice if they got something added. The selection is quite limited, although darkness mastery is kind of cool. The lack of selection is the reason I haven't actually made a scrapper past level 20 or so; nothing cool like that to look forward to. That and redraw.

I'd imagine the reason the APPs have stayed like this for so long is that while they aren't awesome, the AT as a whole doesn't have anything glaringly wrong with it. You can fix up almost any scrapper powerset combo in the game and get it up to AV soloing levels, so I'd imagine changing the APPs is, unfortunately, a low priority.

I'm a little optimistic that there will be some kind of new option added with Going Rogue.

For me, the only scrapper APP I ever bother w/is Dark for Pet Gaze, and mostly for sappers and the like. Of course, Pet Gaze is like the worst ST hold in the game (couldn't give scrappers Char like tanks, oh no... ).

I think the problem with the APP's and the scrapper is that the scrapper is pretty powerful with what it has. It doesn't really need to hold the enemy, slow it down, or immobilize it, it has a whole secondary devoted to mitigating damage already. It's already used to fighting up-close, and usually has a complete attack chain long before level 40, so additional blast attacks are kind've pointless as well.

If I had to pick, I'd say Conserve Energy, Caltrops, or Petrifying Gaze are about all I'd even consider. Conserve Energy is obvious, if you need endurance, there you go. Caltrops mitigates pretty good levels of damage with your enemies crawling around like idiots. Petrifying Gaze can lock down sappers pretty easily. That said, they can all be replaced by IO's. IO your attacks so they all cost less endurance, and you don't need Conserve Energy. IO out your defense to dodge the sapper, and you don't need to control him anymore.

Our APP's are useless because scrappers are too awesome to give anything potentially useful.

As long as I can always get Focused Accuracy and Conserve Power in the same set...the Scrapper APPs will never suck to me.

Fire Mastery of some kind would go nicely with the newly acquired Fire sets.

I luv body mastery. Nothing anybody will ever say will ever make be belive tactics and/or kimset IO over foc acc. Foc acc adds to your to hit and your global acc as well as res to tohit de buffs. Play my AE arc with your scrapper and you'll wish you had it. Conserve power is the awsome. Nuff said. Laser beam eyes proced out is nasty due to its fast recharge. Nrg torret is good for runners.
Weapons mastery is cool for those annoying jumping and flying forts in RV. Trow some caltrops down then web them and beat the tar out of them. The range attack powers could be better.
Dark mastery is a good theme set but torret is counter productive for a scrapper. It makes you your own personal annoying KBer. TT would be better if it locked them down from being knocked back. Dark blast is ok. Pet gaze takes too long to recharge to be of use to anything but sappers. How often do people really fight malta?
And that leaves... Wait. We don't have anymore? We don't get a snipe and a "oh crap" def power like stalkers? No pets? Blasters get tanker tier 9s and defenders and trollers get hard hitting attacks that mez for an hour and day. Trollers even have powers from the will power set (actually, they had them first. Just go along with it, ok). Are you kidding me?
Replace torret with dark obliteration and add shadow meld, the same fire set as tankers, and work on the weapons mastery set and ill never talk about app's again. Honest.

Agreed. APPs for the other four archetypes seem to let the AT transcend its limitations. Scrappers are already pretty well-rounded, so there doesn't seem to be that much to add. Doesn't really bother me though, as what takes other ATs epic powers to achieve, scrappers get at the outset (well-roundedness), so for me that's three or four powers I can just spend on whatever looks entertaining.
