Ah, didn't even notice that. His other thread ended with him saying he has switched to the 181.71 drivers, and I was posting just before bed so I just skimmed.
Edit: the time stamp on this report is the same as the time stamp on the one in the other thread, which was posted before he said he'd gone to the 181.71 drivers. Hooch, which drivers are you using right now? And were they a clean install? Someone may want to dig up a driver cleaner for you, I'm on my lappy right now or I'd do it myself.

The OP may want to back off to a yet earlier version.
I'm getting rock-solid performance under Windows 7 x64 RC (build 7100) with the 181.71 driver for W7 beta, which is what the updater recommended. (Dell XPS M1530 with a GeForce 9600M GT.)
If I'm reading the OP's output correctly, they are on W7 x64 build 7201, which AFAIK is a "leaked" build, as opposed to an official one from Microsoft. It's fairly likely that driver support will be a bit erratic. It's also possible that you got a buggy (or hacked) copy.
Also note that for some systems, the recent NVIDIA drivers recommend specific BIOS updates; you may want to check that your system BIOS isn't too far behind current.

At the time I was using 185... Now I'm using 181, as they give me a -little bit of- improvement. Just got my chip recently, so the bios is completely up to date.
But yeah, darkfaith.. I did just copy and paste it from my other post. Since then I've tried loads of possible fixes, including rolling back my drivers even more.
I'm really liking win7, and don't wanna dual as it will mean I probably justuse xp or vista (shudder) so as to avoid switching back and forth. I'm tempted to try to run xp as a virtual inviroment inside windows 7 and see how that goes.
bump
Im actually having similar issues with Windows 7. I have a GeForce 8800 GT and From what I can tell the problem is created with the Driver itself. When you update or rollback the driver to one of the few choices you are given for Windows 7 there is either little improvement or none at all. I started with the 181 Drivers which let me log in but the load times were extremely slow. When you go in game the loading bar does not appear to move at all. Each time I have to do a forced quit on the game so I can exit and try again. The 185 Drivers cause the graphics to look like it has very high contrast also the graphics look very bad. I can get in game at this point but the frame rate is very bad. I do not remember the last driver series that was the newest (188 or 186? I am not at my computer) but they do not work at all. The screen stays black but you can hear the sounds of the background music and key strokes (Almost taunting you). If there is no quick fix/Work around I will be going back to Vista to play CoX Either that or does anyone know if CoH works with Ubuntu Linux by using Cedga?
It does with work in linux with wine. I may have to dual boot just for the game, or just stop playing it for a month or two till the problems fixed. Well, I guess thats crysis and prototype for me!
What about the 186 drivers released 14 days ago?

[/ QUOTE ] Those drivers are currently a no-no as far as CoH is concerned.
Note: 186.18 works fine for XP. The issue is only for Windows Vista/7 users. The current working driver for CoH on Vista/7 is 185.85 instead.
Excuse my ignorance but what is the reason they are "no go"? The reason I am asking is that I am running this version on Vista Ultimate SP2 with an nVidia 260 without any issues.
Edit - A quick search shows some answers as to why they are a no go but I am interested in "what is the issue with nVidia 260 and Vista"?
Because a number of people have reported CoH/V freezing up almost immediately with them. When they back off to the 185 drivers, the game works fine.

Honestly,
Unlikely.
There's a reason MS tells you not to install those later "leaked" builds, actually there are a few:
1) MS releases them to specific partners to solve/test specific issues with specific hardware, and they aren't tested as strictly and completely as the RC 7100 build.
2) There's no "official" way to get it except torrenting, which leads to 3:
3) NEVER torrent an OPERATING SYSTEM, there's just too much potential for damage, spyware, or hacked copies for it to be a reliable judge of performance.
If you're going to test W7 with things, use the MS recommended release. 7 is only 3 months and 18 days away. :P
Edited:
For the record I myself am using W7 RC 7100 (64-bit) as my primary OS right now (since my XP 64 install finally hosed itself after 3 years). And what was my "test" rig, is right now my primary.
I cannot use the 186.18 drivers with CoH (it goes black right at the title screen, music still plays and can type in my password (blind) and log in, the game is "running" but has no graphics. The 185.85 drivers work like a charm, and give me about a 10-15fps boost over the equivalent in XP-64 (I have never used Vista except on a friend's laptop). I did not try the 186.08 (betas) but I was tempted to.
All in all, Windows 7 rocks, I've never been able to say that about an OS before.
"Superman died fighting Doomsday because he allowed his toggles to drop, and didn't beat Doomsday before Unstoppable wore off, sad really..."
Since the last update on CoH I have been able to get online with the 185 Drivers. I'm currently testing the 7260 Build.
Oh... Looose... Apparently the new win7 install was working fine cause I didn't install my sound drivers... Soon as I did BOOOOOM! So I guess its video games or sound to choose from.. Well, 3d surround sound or video games.
I've actually been using build 7077 of Windows 7 x64. It gave me the 181.71 Nvidia drivers. This is also a GTX 260. This by far has been the most stable setup/build/driver combination I've used in all of the 6 win 7 builds I've tried. From what I understand the "7100" or release candidate build are very similar to the 7077. I hear that the 7088 was artificially bumped up to make it the 7100 build.
Anyway..Turn off that physx and try the 181.71 driver it should yield much more stable results.
Short of a server problem I have NOT crashed one time since using this setup.
No, its definately an issue with the realtek sound drivers and the video card. It's giving me issues in other games too. Soon as I uninstall the realtek front end everything is gravy.
Ok, so strike that... Its not just thos drivers... Its still crashing.. Just doesn't seem as frequently.. its hard to tell cause some times its immediate, other times it takes hours.
I've been testing out option on vista to no avail now too.. Even with the hotfix this is still happening... And its not just this game. Left 4 dead drops out completely to desktop. Prototype is freezing up. I'm starting to wonder if its my video card. But even that doesn't make sence as its acting like a driver issue.
It could be the vid card. My roommate's vid card started doing similar things before we had to replace it...we also ended up replacing the fans in his computer due to a heat issue at the same time, which certainly didn't help what his card was doing. This doesn't really sound like a heat issue though...but I'd check that, just to be safe. You never know.
With no nvidia update, just the update to coh my friends previoulsy stable nvidia driver/win 7 system now gets the "driver not responding". I reinstalled to 7100 rc and installed the 186 drivers and coh would start, i could hear it but the screen was black. I backed down to the 185 drivers and coh would start, I could see it and could log in and select a toon but it would not load in. I am going to back down again to previous version today when I get home.
Yeah, I'm leaning towards it being the card... i've been trouble shooting it with EVGA and they keep telling me its my PSU. So I've been having Everest monitor my 12v rail and its been golden...
if it happens in more than one game it very well could be your psu - I run a single 260 with an antec quattro 650 and my sli I run a corsair hx850.
So I've been having all kinds of issues with my NVidia drivers for this game. I actually have another thread, but the problems evolved soo much it warants a new thread.
Its basically the same issue Vista users had before the "hotfix". I will be playing the game and the Open GL drivers will crash.. Some times I get this message....
"The NVIDIA Open GL Driver encountered an unrecoverable error and must close this application.
Error 14"
Some times not. I am attatching the hijack this and COHHelper.
