Additionally, I've just gotten on board with the Titan Network team, and will be working on cross-os compatibility. (translation: making Mids' work for Mac/Linux)

Last I heard they were having some difficulty with the coding for mids to update it, no?
and. . it should be updated for issue 15 soon O.o? last I knew other than my personal version it wasn't updated for issue 14 yet!
Though, if I'm wrong I'd love to not have to personally do all of the new info. . .getting all the PvP recipies in there was not fun ><

If Stiener wants it were good to but doesnt know the complexity of the program so I'd rater have Mids on it. heck if we all chipped in a dollar maybe he'd come back but I'd rather see him in a real posistion in NCsoft he earned it.

I just knew titan network took it over (no offense meant to anyone, including you FW) which I wasn't super thrilled about, I've not had the best of experiences with TN. . . seems to lag a bit behind on updating things :/ Though I suppose if it does get updated, it works. .. .so cheers to that.

Steiner is learning the entire program. He has very much learned about the complexity of the program, and is adding to it, because the PvP IOs needed new code to work properly in the program.
Mid's left for reasons other than monetary, if I remember correctly. People do get burned out on games. And who's to say that he'd even want a job at NCSoft?

If so, I thank him for all of his hard work and dedication, it is a truly wonderful program. . . .and has been the best for quite some time, even before IOs were out!

yeah. . .those PvP IOs were NOT fun to put in at all. . . the procs were fun to work with, and getting the IO set bonuses to only work in PvP mode (something that hadn't been done in the past. . ) was. . .interesting to say the very least
Edit: I do believe it took me 2 hours to even put in the pancea set at every level, then I had to work with the proc a little bit, and then had to figure out how to get the PvP bonuses to only work when PvP mode was on. . .(that was the real fun part)

This doesn't mean THE MAN THAT MADE IT SHOULD NOT GET CREDIT. NCsoft made a profit off of his work and he should be rewarded. simple as that.
Mids Steps Down
That is the link to his announcement on Titan Netork. He wasn't too clear why he stepped down but from this and a few other posts, such as this one.
I have read somewhere (linky?) that he does not play CoH anymore, but kept supporting his program. He just doesn't have the time.
edit: please keep the topic Ode to Mids, not Owed to Mids. I thought the topic was going to be about suggesting a thank-you donation for his efforts.
Mids hero desinger is the best thing that ever happened to this game as things got more complicated so did our builds.
Mids helped us get through that and did it for nothing other than a love for the game.
Now that he's gone we cant ingore the fact that we need a hero planner.
All Hail Mids for his work.
I suggest as a gesture to his work that they hire him to go on.
That would be history in the making and a landmark in MMO's by not only hiring a Fan but but giving us a offline tool very much needed.
