1. PvP IO's are off the charts these been no drops due to bug so they say http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showflat....v=#Post13690274

A stong argument has allready been had about this and has yet to be resolved.

Making the prices exceed 700mill!!! for some and have zero left on the market.

Fixed PvP rewards to function once again. Now, influence, inspirations, and other normal rewards occur on every PvP kill, while PvP IO recipes can only be rewarded on rep-valid kills.

[/ QUOTE ]

This means no recipes in the arena right?

[/ QUOTE ]

Not true.

[ QUOTE ]
Fixed rep-validation to function in arenas, even though it doesn't give you any reputation in arenas.

[/ QUOTE ]

They made the rep-validation work in arenas, so players could get PvP IOs in the arena. However, you WON'T get any REP in Arena.

[/ QUOTE ]
I'd say it's technically going to be possible to get PVP IO drops in arena, but it'll virtually never happen. If A kills B he gets a 1 in 100 chance at a PVP recipe drop. Then for the next 5 minutes he not gets no chances. Further, if what people have been saying about the timer resetting is true, he will basically likely get no further chances assuming he can kill B at least once every 5 minutes. Further, since for some bizarre reason B's timer gets set for A when the kill happens, B essentially has no chances at a drop during the entire match.

This is why people are complaining that low-pop server players are screwed. If there are only 4 people in a zone and they're engaging relatively often, they'll quickly get into a mode where none of them can earn PVP IO drops unless they sit out for 5 minutes.

They need to remove the timer reset and change it so only defeating a player sets a timer, not being defeated by a player.

[/ QUOTE ]

Even if they do implement your suggestion I still see PvP IO's being ridiculously overpriced. When they were dropping and getting farmed the supply was pretty thin and still high priced on the sought after sets. I'm guessing they stayed in the somewhat reasonable price range because both pvers and pvpers could farm them. With this new patch they for the most part cut the pvers out of the picture. Now it will be up to the zone pvpers to supply the market.

Now how many people in this game actually pvp on a regular basis? I'd guess around 5% and that's being generous. Now take into consideration that even when PVP IO's didnt have restrictions on the drops I got maybe 5 of them since they came out, and I PvP regularly. I expect these things to be damn near unattainable for most people when this patch hits live.

[/ QUOTE ]

IF that ends up being the case to me (me at least, don't know about anyone else) there will be even less point to these. Since you need at least two or three of each to get any relevant set bonuses (forget trying to use them to go for the 6th bonuses that are pretty good), if these things dry up of the market, they may not even be there to try to get 2 or 3 together, no matter how much inf you have. You could end up being one of the market guru billionaires and STILL never see enough of one set to make a 6 or even 5 slot set in a power EVER.

I hope this isn't the case. Some of these things are already currently more rare and expensive than PURPLES. I thought the point of these was to get more folks to pvp?

[/ QUOTE ]

For a game that claims to be for the casual player this doesnt fit at all.
2. Still no (much needed) PvP IO drop rate increase?

With previous patch these are out of sync with the risk vs reward ratio by a longshot.
3. Also Mission Defeat Snaptooth (contact DJ zero): can be entered at /loc 654.3 135.0 -226.3. in Cap (red side), also the Elite boss ver spawns as a freindly so mission cannot compleate.

Mids Steps Down

That is the link to his announcement on Titan Netork. He wasn't too clear why he stepped down but from this and a few other posts, such as this one.

I have read somewhere (linky?) that he does not play CoH anymore, but kept supporting his program. He just doesn't have the time.

edit: please keep the topic Ode to Mids, not Owed to Mids. I thought the topic was going to be about suggesting a thank-you donation for his efforts.

[/ QUOTE ]Which is why the I14 update was delayed, while Steiner learned it

[/ QUOTE ]

So the I14 update actually was put out for everyone with mids? do I need to change the path to updating server now to be able to get the updates? Or has it indeed not been released?

[/ QUOTE ]

It has not been released yet. We're expecting to see all the changes (up to and including I15 changes) soon.

I hate to say this, but please read the thread or post fully before responding. This had already been answered in the thread.

This doesn't mean THE MAN THAT MADE IT SHOULD NOT GET CREDIT. NCsoft made a profit off of his work and he should be rewarded. simple as that.

Our respect at very least.

:Note I dont know Mids or represent him in any way I just respect his work, and am thankfull for it for,... it kept me in the game for years longer thatn I would have without it.

Owed to Mids

If Stiener wants it were good to but doesnt know the complexity of the program so I'd rater have Mids on it. heck if we all chipped in a dollar maybe he'd come back but I'd rather see him in a real posistion in NCsoft he earned it.

Mids hero desinger is the best thing that ever happened to this game as things got more complicated so did our builds.

Mids helped us get through that and did it for nothing other than a love for the game.

Now that he's gone we cant ingore the fact that we need a hero planner.

All Hail Mids for his work.

I suggest as a gesture to his work that they hire him to go on.

That would be history in the making and a landmark in MMO's by not only hiring a Fan but but giving us a offline tool very much needed.

yes it is. its weird though. it let me create a new toons but not enter. says the servers have to be checked??? why show them up, if they can't be entered before mods "check" them?

[/ QUOTE ]

Agreed and aggroed
11. I set the Enhancements of this build so you will loose little or nothing by going to Sirens Call and even left a few sets for bloody bay so your not nerfed in any way.

Anyone who builds a toon like this should be all set for most if not all PVP curcomstances.

Note: Certian AT's can take other AT"s there is no perfect PVP toon this comes closest to all and is feared by many.

This build can probably be improved opon I didn't spend to much time on it, but it is a solid build.

12. The Answer your looking for is - Fire Regen Scrapper.

Ive had this discustion many times with my coalition and we all started making regens for pvp I chose spines instead of fire for the =fly and range but it does a bit less dmg.

Few AT's can get past a good regen build 1 on 1 for we've tested just about everything in the arena.

So far a Rad was the only thing that stood a chance and slim one at that.

I know regen has been nerfed several times but it still rocks since your self heals and regen rate is very difficult to migate enough dmg to overcome.

And having the best dmg output in the game is also huge a plus.

The only draw back is if your attacked by several players your resistance is not enough to compensate unless your really quick to heal and take 2 or 3 out in time so that they scatter or take a phaze temp power along just in case, which can found at WW.

:Note many plp frown on that tactic of phazing.

Also there's several other temps that come in handy.

It also has best hold protection in the game so if you are held it has a very limited affect.
Interigation + resilience is an awesome combo.

Super Speed for those runners and fly for the flyers I know fitting both these in a build is daunting task.

Flurry as mentioned before is an overpowered attack in PVP and should be considered.

:Edited for several errors and updated for content working on a build I'll post shortly

Can a "published" arc be edited by the owner? If so, does the arc's rating and status get reset?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, its called a re-publish and it will preserve ratings info.

[/ QUOTE ]

Awesome I was worried about this since we have unlockables I might want to add later on, plus any updates made to MA will allow us to expand/improve arc's w/o affecting ratings.

Does this also apply to Dev's choice or will these be locked in place as is?

16. I found that the ski slopes were impossible to get the gold or even silver on the advanced slope unless I had Super Jump.

Even using the jump-pack didnt give me the speed I needed

Even with multible buffs, I even used the jump & run speed buffs you can create in base + logged out for awile in the right area for an additional movement buff and thats not even counting mental training, and my set bonuses, and slotted a 50 jump IO in run. (got bronse)

While using Super Jump I got GOLD on my 1st run and I'm no spring chicken (no SB or IR/ID needed or used), its just so much faster so had to create a 2nd build using SJ to compleate the courses.

So Every buff possible + the jump-pack I saved from a meyhem and being lvl 50 gave me no wheres near the speed I needed.

Super Jump no buffs (diff char infact has no set bonuses, mental training, nothing) gets so much speed I had to slow down for the silver and bronse.

Seems unfair and way off balance forcing plp to take SJ or any set they may not like for a badge. (hows a 1 form warshade or PB supposed to do this?)

Can something be done about this? How about this, avtivating the course grants SJ (lvl 50 unslotted or whatever lvl speed needed) as a defualt/temp power for 3min or until it times out the run.
