Stone Mallet, redraw animation?

Quick question:

Was there ever a "redraw" delay from the Stone Mallet powers? (like using a Broadsword, Axe, etc. power without the weapon drawn)

No, the draw for the elemental weapons is part of the animation, not something separate.

So here's the deal. Mentally, I think of these particular powers as not actual weapons. It's the element being wielded in the a manner similar to how you'd wield a weapon. So "Stone Melee" isn't actually a mallet made of stone.

Yes, it's vague and subjective...but it's one of the rationalizations I have for why there these particular powers don't require a 'draw' animation, and why they don't support 'weapon' customization...even though there's not a technical restriction or limitation for either of those things.

And the animation change actually added time to the mallets - they used to be 1.17s each.

Try this one on for size:

It's only a true "weapon" if the whole set is about using it. So the sets that are melds of multiple ones (Ice Fist Melee + Ice Sword Melee + Ice Gust Melee; Fire Sword Melee + Fire Fist Melee + Fire Palm Melee + Fire Breath Melee) don't have one.

Nope, that was added to the end of the animations, not the beginning. Their animations were terminating too soon. (I personally thought they looked perfectly natural before, but it's over and done with.)

They're clearly effects not weapons, when you suppressclosefx or whatever the command is so you can see past your armor, your mallets disappear so what is there to redraw

[/ QUOTE ]I agree that they looked fine before, and I never said where they added time or tried to imply that they were doing it for a weapon draw.

Just stating that there never was an issue of "removing draw time" for them because the change to the animation was that time was added and not removed.

I can understand that, but some of us view our control over the elements as precise, so the ugly blobby stone melee weapon may not be appropriate. It would be nice if one could get a smooth well-formed two-handed stone hammer as well.

Lewis -- by that argument, though, all stone (armor, melee, or control) powers would need to be changed. None of them have precise geometric shapes; they are all somewhat haphazard and "blobby". The mallet is not alone in that regard.
