Just got hit by overzealous vet rewards...

At my trustworthy mark I just got hit with 33 month rewards instead of just 3. I know this is recurring and I've petitioned it and am waiting a response, I'm just wondering how and why this is even happening. I was hoping it wouldn't hit me so I wouldn't have to deal with it, but meh... thats the luck of the draw.

I really don't like getting credit for things I don't earn.

Had the same thing happen to me. It was only on one character. Did yours hit your whole account or just one ?

Looks like just one character. The odd thing is though that none of the others even got the 3 month, technically its not due til the 24th, so I wonder why its even hitting me now.

I had that happen on my main. I should be due for the 42 month badge any day now. I logged in the other day, and it gave me 42, 45, 48, and 51 all at once.

The badges didn't appear on any other character, but my free character slot for 48 months showed up in my log-in screen.

I'm afraid to use it. I figure it would just delete the new character when they strip the vet badges away, but I don't want to chance that it would auto-delete a random character, possibly my main or another 50.

I'm pushing the 36 month mark and my highest level is 32 (many alts on many servers might have something to do with it too).

Its not my opinion, thats just what others would think. Play how you want, level how you want. I just don't want ppl to assume I know more than I do based on Vet badges, perhaps thats how i should have worded it to begin with.

There currently is no real fix to the issue. I've been advised not to use rewards and to maintain the character legitimately. People affected will either be notified or there will be an announcement to how it will be handled.

I don't want to but I'm tempted to delete him so I don't have these vet rewards hanging on me.

Well you can always remake it, though you didn't say whether it's an existing, leveled character or a new one? It'd suck if it's one you've been playing a while.

thats very noble of you, though IM not sure anyone 'earns' veteran rewards any more than one 'earns' birthday gifts. Unless you consider that you achieved teh difficult and painstaking labour of succesfully giving the company your money for 3 months in a row, . Still, I aplaud your honesty. If it were me, I probaby would ahve kept the reward and not told anyone.

I've been hit by this bug too, not once but twice: One character was given 33 months and the VIP badge (which I petitioned), and I just found out that another got 15 months.

It's really annoying, since I enjoy being a (relatively) new player. And because I have very few characters, not playing the affected ones isn't really an option, either. >.>

You wanna hear something really weird? I got access to the Cyborg and Valkyrie boosters without purchasing them. Yes, I notified customer service, and I haven't used any of the booster features. Still, that sort of thing makes me nervous.

That happened to one of my characters last week. It was a 9th level defender that had been inactive for many months. I logged on to him to look him over before deleting him and I get a slew of Badge Earned messages. I am at the 24 month veteran mark and this character suddenly got badges up to 57 months. I admit I did redeem some of the rewards just out of curiousity. Love the anime armor, can't wait till it's mine honestly. After about 30 minutes of checking out the vet rewards I deleted the character.

Did any of your other characters got into AE ? some of the AE badge are account-wide.

This. I get 11 at the moment (enough to qualify for Architect X) just from account-wides.

I'll be really... really.. glad when they pare down the number of badges from AE.

Warranted... but I know if I was punished for using something they directly applied credit for to my account and did not correct I would be canceling my account. Some things just cross the line of acceptable.

yes there are a lot of badges that are awarded account wide, just make sure thats what going on.
