Looking to roll a mind/?? dom on freedom. However I'm having trouble deciding between energy or elec for my secondary. The primary focus of this build is PvP, so comparisons and or help are greatly appreciated and helpful posters, me love you long time

thanks for ur help.. rolling him now.

I'd go /elec for late game pvp and arena. But I'd go /eng for Sirens call if that is your thing.

Siren's call is amazingly fun, but I went with elec cause I'm terribly indecisive and didn't wanna stew over the decision all day. Thanks for your input tho

Lately there's not much in zones to kill anyway. Why bother rolling a pvp character?

We always have someone in one of the pvp zones on truimph, but I suppose if you never go there you never see anyone there.

BTW its probably better to either give the OP some advice on making thier pvp toon or just not reply at all. Theres no reason to urinate on thier parade.

Glad you have "someONE" in zone.

Do what the rest of us have been doing and move to Freedom.

It's a bit sad, I may have to do this as well...
Certainly any new pvp characters are going to have to be there.

Seems this brings up the old call for server mergers, which tbh I tend to be for despite the massive problems it can create. (BTW, all of my new toons are already on freedom )

Posted

Careful, keep server mergers to no more than a whisper. Some people seem to really like playing a single player MMO

Question: What would the respective attack chains be for Mind/Elec and Mind/Energy?

Depends what you're fighting, for the /Energy at least. If you're Mind/Energy I'd skip Power Push (even after the PvE damage buff it still does no damage in PvP) because Levitate is all the KB you'll need. Both Energy and Elec have very hard-hitting melee attacks, which isn't really the style of a PvP Dominator, but if you can get used to being in melee often, it's worth the tradeoff.

Oh, that's a big bummer that Power Push does no damage in PvP

Yeah it is. TK Thrust does the same base mag knockback (16.6) but is still a high-damage attack (interestingly it does very little damage in PvE but it is one of the heaviest hitters in /Psi in PvP).

Might have something to do with the 1.4 base acc. That'd be pretty damn good for a realistic PvP attack.

edit: though maybe it'd still be ok. I wonder if it's working as intended or is just a miss...

[/ QUOTE ] I totally forget... (mostly cause mids is inaccurate in this area) Does kinetic crash increase KB mag in levitate now, or is it still bugged to only have it's mag increased by normal KB IOs?

I'm not actually sure on that one. I'd have to test it but don't have the ability to do that right now.

Seems as though you're right (confirmed via 3rd party, I wasn't on test today other than about 30 seconds to check suppression on Forge), Levitate's not working right with KB IO sets. Is Lift affected by this as well, or is unique to Levitate?

So if I would be interested in rolling a dom out just for SC play, say if I get him to 50 and slot out sets; do all the sets count once I'm in SC? Or just the ones from the powers/slots I'd have at level 30.

Basically, if you're going to roll a toon out just for SC play, is there any point to leveling them past 30?
