Isn't most NHL teams mostly Canadian and European players rather than actual American players? And how many Red Wing players are actually from Detroit? Therefore, you should not just cheer for a national team because they are based in your hometown, but for more important reasons.

The first step in being sane is to admit that you are insane.

Wow, I thought I was the only hockey fan in existence, lol. They have no chance against us in game 7....the way they have been consistently blown out at the Joe. We really should have ended it last night but played like we were asleep the entire 1st and most of the 2nd period. I expect us to come out and play like in Game 5 and it will be all she wrote.

With respects to game 6 we were robbed a penalty shot at the end there.

Not complaining too much since now I get to go to Game 7 and witness the Stanley Cup being won by the Red Wings!

Actually the replay showed he never came down on it in the crease with his hand, the puck squirted free just as he was about to palm it. I was screaming at the TV at first but then realized I was being an idiot when they showed the close-up re-play. They just got incredibly lucky with Scuds in there wacking randomly at it with his stick and then Fleury getting down in time to prevent the puck from going in.

I think we just shot ourselves in the foot with our terrible start and then we had bad luck the rest of the game. Z catching the post after blowing it past MAF, if that bangs in it's a completely different game and we have a chance to take over after that. He also should have scored off that ridiculous pass from Datsyk but hesitated instead of one-timing it and MAF got over to stone him. Osgood really kept us in it, but the guys couldn't get on the board fast enough to make it matter.

1st period of Game 7 should be intense, but if we can hold them off in the first 20 minutes and it's 1-1 or 1-0 us, I think we are in good shape. I just wish Hossa would get his head out of his [censored] and do something in this series like he did against Chicago.

It wasn't until the reply that you came to that realization?
So, when did you stop beating your television?

Oh I don't do that anymore...ever since I broke a remote in the 97' playoffs when Osgood let in a 100ft shot from center ice to send the game to overtime against St. Louis. We eventually won in triple OT at like 2 am. I do still enjoy yelling at the players and the TV, like they can hear me through it, haha.

It did look like he covered the puck at first and you know how any passionate fan is going to react, haha. It was kind of like "THAT'S A PENALTY, OMG IF YOU DON'T CALL THAT I SWEAR TO GOD, FREAKING CHEATING REFS, THATS A PENALTY SHOT" followed by...."oh nevermind...he didn't actually cover it...I'm stupid" lol.

We are, haha. When you've followed a team for so long, I've been a Redwings fan for over 19 years, you kind of feel like it.

Forgive me, I was only 8 when I discovered hockey, up until then my life had mostly been comprised of legos, Thundercats, GI Joe and Transformers, haha. 19 out of 27 is a long time, haha.

most hockey player's actually come to play growing up in Minnesota the offical state of hockey, once they learn the sport to an acceptable license they get a license to play hockey where-ever the hell they want, since the competition is easier back in their home country and outside of Minnesota thats usually where they go, and then they end up standing out like an all star in their country since they got taught everything they know by some kids playing bantams in Minnesota. this basically accounts for 89% of all players in the NHL. the other 11% are natural born Minnesotans and naturally have the talent to play the game.

yea like over where hockey matters, (if your a guy and suck at playing hockey u get deported to wisconsin) in Minnesota the Wild use a slogan that were the team of 18000, realistically thats because in the event of any crazy injuries they could just call someone's seat number and as long as they have a Minnesotan Driver's License they'd be more than qualified to play pro hockey, so yea were on the team, were just subs.
