I too have returned to the game (just last night). Looking forward to Going Rogue and starting some new characters. Though from what I've heard, Infinity is a ghost town, so a move to Freedom is likely. Send me a tell if you want to get back in touch.
-
Anyone interested in taking over Thursday Night Fights? I'm playing COX less and less these days, and my partner St0ney hasn't been seen in weeks. I recommend two people take this over -- that way if one has a RL commitment, the other can take their place.
-
Wish I could attend -- but Saturday nights are a no-go for me. Good luck with the event!
-
I'll be there to officiate on Thursday. Has anyone seen or heard from St0ney recently?
-
Doh! I just saw this today. Congrats on the event guys -- looking forward to the next one!
-
How did last night go? I caught what was going around the office this week, so I couldn't make it.
-
Its Thursday! Don't forget about Thursday Night Fights! Not sure what we're going to run tonight -- depends on the crowd. The random team 3v3 was pretty fun on Sunday. If we get enough people, I could run that again.....
See you tonight! -
Congratulations to MK-Ultra (@MrLiberty), the champion of tonight's 3v3 tournament!!!!!
-
We had about 12 people and some great matches! We did 2 rounds of 3v3v3, one kickball round, and a FFA. See you all next Thursday!

Have fun on Thursday everyone! I'll be out of town at a wedding this week. I'll be back next week for more PvP fun!

Congrats to the winner of Melee Madness! Xavier Knight (@Fallen Mystic)

We've spend two weeks in the zones, so now its time to return to the Arena! We have something a little different planned for this weeks TNF:
MELEE MADNESS!!
Level Range- SHW(47-50)
[Brutes, Scrappers, Tanks]
Format:
* Three FFA Rounds Office/Cage/Tech Lab, top 4 cumulative scores move on.
* Finals- Random Draw 1v1 duels.
Additional Information:
* Tier 1 Inspirations & Arena Temporary Powers only.
* No resets will occur for disconnections.
* Spawn Camping is strongly discouraged.
* Please respect your fellow players.
* Travel Powers will be turned off.
If you don't have a pvp-spec'd melee'er (like me), no worries! We'll be running a parallel kickball event for everyone not in the tournament. Should be a fun night! See you on Thursday... -
I hope the event went well last night. I apologize for being a no-show. I had some unexpected stuff in RL happen and it precluded me from attending. I'm crossing my fingers that nothing will get in the way next week....
-
Reminder:
Tomorrow night is our Sirens Call Brawl. I'll be getting the villains started with my corrupter "Thunder Siren" and Stoney will be shepherding the heroes on his blaster (I can't remember the name).
See you all Thursday night! -
This Thursday, we're venturing to a place you probably haven't been in quite a while: Sirens Call! Grab your heroes and villains and we'll battle it out! If you have pvp spec'd heroes and villains, have them standing by in SC so you can quickly switch characters to balance the sides (its no fun to have 10 heroes and 2 villains, or vice versa).
If you're new to PvP and want to try out your characters, this is the *perfect* event for you. Between the zones and the arena, zones are much more forgiving of noobish behavior. And you'll get to watch some of the best PvP'ers on Infinity and learn from them.
See you in Sirens Call on Thursday! -
Quote:I too would like to see some variety beyond just kickball. But we're just getting started here, so a few weeks of kickball to get everyone in the habit of PvP'ing on Thursdays is probably a good thing.I like to kickballs...would be nice to see some 2v2 or 3v3 too though.
On a side note, it seems a good percentage of the old-school PvP Infinity crowd is currently going through another wave of drifting to other servers. Any chance you can spice up the event with some recipes/enhancements for our event like Fight Nights on other servers Isis? The team tournaments are a LOT more work for the organizers, so I wouldn't expect them every week. But certainly once a month is definitely doable.
As for prizes, Stoney and I are more then happy to take donations from the PvP community for prizes. It never occurred to me to have prizes because that's not why I pvp. I like competing against something smarter then a computer, so for me, my "prize" is the fun.
Just an FYI -- I'll likely be late this Thursday. But fear not, Stoney will be there to get things started and keep everything running! -
Nope, tonight there won't be any "stinkin badgers!" (Apologies to all the badgers out there).
Tonight we'll start with a FFA to warm everybody up, then run a few rounds of kickball.
See you all tonight! -
Thats right, your friendly neighborhood PVPEC rep, in conjunction with the Infinity PvP community, is starting a Fight Night series. Every Thursday night starting at 10:00 PM Eastern, I or someone from the PvP community will be running a PvP event, either in the Arena or the zones. It usually takes more then one person to put these together and make sure they run every week, so St0n3y has stepped forward to help manage the events. If youd like to help us out, just send me a PM on these boards. Also, if you have an idea for an event, send me a PM!
Fight nights should be pretty simple. Well announce a theme prior to the event so everyone knows what to expect. Some nights will be more hard-core, some will be more noob-friendly, and others will be somewhere in between. Our goal is to reinvigorate the PvP community on Infinity. As a result, this isnt about prizes or INF, its about honing your PvP skills and having fun.
For our first Thursday (3 September), please meet us at the Arena Kiosks in Pocket D. Well start off with a FFA battle to warm everyone up, then well run a few rounds of Kickball.
For those of you who havent played Kickball before, its just like the kickball you played as a kid .. except there are no balls and each team is trying to kill the other one.Captains are chosen and they alternate picks for their team. Each round, the teams will be different. This is a good way for those with limited experience to get exposed to PvP it worked for me! Theres little ego invested in winning or loosing and you get to see how different ATs and powersets play in PvP.
See you Thursday nights! -
No one showed up, so no one won. We're working on our September event right now. I hope to have something specific to say soon (tm).
-
Just wanted to remind everyone that this event is tomorrow!
