Ever notice how all the alternate-universe versions of Statesman are evil?
I kinda wonder if Paragon Earth might be an aberration. After all--if the criminal Marcus Cole is supposed to stay Evil, a dimension where he's 'good' would be the "evil parallel universe" for most. Especially since Paragon Earth set up massive walls to "protect" its citizens, and in Praetoria that wasn't necessary...

That always gets me thinking ... if Tyrant is an "evil" Statesman ... then what about the Praetorian equivalent of Reculse?

There are more possibilities than that. What if they're BOTH evil and they team up?
What if they're mercenaries?
What if they're both good in one reality?
What if, instead of a Fountain of Zeus (or whatever) it was to some other god, like Aries? Or Demeter? Or Hephaestus? What if it was for another pantheon altogether and it was a shrine to Quetzacoatl or Thor or Amon-Ra?
M-Theory is fun...

The popular theory is that Tyrant found the Well on his own, or Stephan Ricter was killed, lost or betrayed before he could drink from it. Without Lord Recluse to balance him out, Tyrant became... well...
Funny thing is that originally, Statesman and Lord Recluse were not only best friends, but mercenaries out adventuring for their own gain. They started neutral, then one went good and the other evil. I think so anyway.

I had thought they were treasure hunters...or archaeologists at least. Didn't think they were mercs.

That's exactly what I think happend. They asked who the high level movers and shaker gangs are that haven't had a lot of screen time lately, and went with the CoT, Carnies, Crey and of course everyone's pal who can never be over exposed, Nemesis. Then they looked up what AVs they had for those gangs and Akarist ended up getting drafted.
How I would have done it, storyline wise:
Instead of approaching the big guns, I'd have Reichsman try to enlist the lesser gangs. I'd be more afraid of gangs with fantastic powers like the Outcasts, Trolls or Vahzilok getting organized under a competent, powerful leader and gaining access to the 5th's advanced weaponry, equipment and training. To me that's more scary than an Injustice Gang with five megalomanicas pulling in different directions and backstabbing each other. We've got Reclsue and Friends for that.
Can you imagine 5th troopers with elemental powers? War Wolf Trolls? Undead zombie warriors augmented with Mek Men parts?
The only issue I'd see is that Dr Vahzilok, Atta and Frostfire as AVs may not be much of a challenge for a decent 8 mean level 50 team.
Also, keep in mind Reichsman has a history of making sure his subordinates are weaker than him, so it would make sense for him to target gangs he's sure he could control and manage.

You know...The whole alternate-universe thing would be a great way to bring Hero 1 into the game. There is bound to be a alternate world where States went to the Rikti world instead of him.

That is pretty interesting and I would like to see something done along that kind of thinking. Real alternate realities, instead of many versions of Statesman the villain.

I thought it was pretty obvious from the final Ouro intro mission that the "Coming Storm" is a Shivan invasion. You're sent into the future to head off the invading party's scouts, and they're Shivans.
The fact that Going Rogue talks about space means to me (if there is a tie in at all) that the space station is of Shivan origin.
And for a while things were cold,
They were scared down in their holes
The forest that once was green
Was colored black by those killing machines
I know this is probably way off base and pretty far fetched, but if it were to be taken quite literal, what if the coming, "storm" was the guy standing beside Tyrant?
Wsan't he named Maelstrom?
Glitched! My post back about page 4 WAS on another thread and not part of this subject, sorry about that, don't know how it ended up on this thread?

Going Rouge mentions NOTHING about going into space. Absolutley nothing. No inking. Nary an iota of anything to do with space. Do not confuse that survey/poll from last year with what they have announced about Going Rogue. Some of what way in the survey is in Going Rogue. But the reverse is not true at all.
