MA farmers: Where to put them?
You know honestly I'm with the argument against farming, and that this point I wish they'd just remove the AE completely rather than let the game continue as it is, but...
when you're getting out of shape over messages in broadcast, you're the one who has the problem. Broadcast has always been full of dumb junk; if you don't like it, turn broadcast off, or start liberally using your ignore button.

Since Atlas Park is where the majority of new players start the game, the farmers in AE should move elsewhere to prevent this kind of thing from happening. The guy I mentioned above told me he asked if there was anything else to do in the game and someone told him no. He was about to quit because he thought that's all there was to the game.
I know it's never going to happen. The farmers have no reason to move because they don't care if they are annoying people with broadcast spam for farm missions or ruining the game for new players by telling them there is nothing else to do. The worst part is, the new crop of farmers that are telling people there is nothing else to do? Some of them probably believe that because that's what THEY were told.
I avoid Atlas altogether these days unless I HAVE to go there for some reason.

I would rather see the AE buildings taken out of Atlas, Galaxy and King's. I would really prefer that AE was available at the same time as Ouroboros, but that would probably never happen.
IMO AE is too much of a distraction at the early levels. Let the new players actually learn how to play the game at the same time that they are exposed to the original stories. I'm starting to encounter more and more new players that don't even have a clue about bank missions, detectives and the temp travel powers because they immediately get sucked into AE and before they know it are lvl 16.

Then you'd have to convince the devs. As they have publicly stated they want folks to be able to use AE from lvl 1.

Not all, but many of the people complaining about the AE farm requests in Atlas broadcast are just mad because they are the same people that used to tell the people complaining about the farm spam in PI they should turn off broadcast or use their ignore feature.
Karma, gotta love it.

Funny I used to tell folks that if they didn't want to hear pointless arguments, sewer team requests, costume contests, or anything generally non-regular missh team related, they could use ignore and turn off b-cast.
I still do.

Find another zone where low level toons are not in danger and has a WW and a trainer and vendors close to the AE building and it is possible farmers would move. Keyword possible.

They have that already that. It's called Galaxy City. And learning to use the train to travel to Went's isn't a bad thing. It will teach these new players that there is more to the game than just Atlas Park.

I don't mind AE, really. I'd rather it be in Galaxy and not AP, honestly... mainly because I logged in today and was sent to AP 2 because the original one was completely full. Of AE farmers.
Also, I've had several level 50s ask me what TFs are, where they get new costumes, and at least 2 were surprised to find out that there were zones outside of Atlas.
Yes, they honestly thought the entire game was Atlas Park and the AE.
THAT is pathetic.

3. Galaxy also has Sewer runs, and Origin based first contacts.

Galaxy City does not have an entrance to the Sewers.
And, to repeat myself from a thread just like this from last week: Leave my Galaxy City the hell alone.
I'd much rather someone come up with a decent solution to curb farming rather than just shove the problem where they personally don't have to see it.

I absolutely agree with Ian. Asking the farmers to move to another zone, or asking the devs to remove the AE building from Atlas solves NOTHING. All you'll be doing is moving them to another zone. Do that, and within a couple days, there will be plenty of people complaining that now the farmers are in their favorite zone.
If it really bothers you that much do one of two things.
1. Move somewhere else.
2. Try to reduce the actual amount of farming going on.
Wanting the farmers to move is nothing but classic NIMBY syndrome. You don't care if it goes on, you just don't want to see it.
The larger problem is simply having an AE building in Atlas in the first place. Farming or not, it is detrimental to new players experiencing the "real game". Never should have been put there to begin with...

Except you forgot the little part about the "devs" wanting it to be there.
Galaxy has been an excellent starting location for those not interested in hearing pointless arguments, sewer team requests, costume contests, anything generally non-regular mission team related and now AE related. It still is.
The development team and this community deserved better than this from NC Soft. Best wishes on your search.

No, that's not the larger problem. The problem (as you see it) is farming itself. The devs intent was and still is for level 1 characters starting in Atlas Park to be able to use the mission architect. Removing the building from Atlas goes against that intent. And like it or not, AE IS part of "the real game" now.
Read my previous post for what you should do if it's bothering you so much.
Not the best example, as many of the posts were lost due to the closing of the I14 beta boards, as well as a few interviews possibly missing from the homepage (or my memory failing), but here's Positron saying a bit about that.

You should have no problem providing the link that shows any the devs saying that.

Massively.com article
In the audio interview with Joe Morrissey on this page, listen approximately 9:15 into it. He specifically says toons can go from level 1 to level 50 inside the mission architect.
Combine that with the fact that the devs put an AE building in Atlas Park in the first place, and it's pretty clear that they intended for level 1 characters starting in Atlas Park to be able to use the Mission Architect. If they hadn't, there wouldn't be a building there.

For some strange and known reason the majority of the devs posts about AE have been slowly disappearing over the last month. The majority of the open beta quotes are gone. Hmm...
Thank goodness for the other credible sources that have the exact same information that has just up and left this forum...

I agree that the farmers SHOULD move to Galaxy. On the basis that I have talked to new players myself that were under the impression that farming was the only way to play the game.
It was sad. I answered a question in broadcast about how to find the tailor with a tell.
The player asking the question responded "You mean there are other places to go?"
He really didn't know. The poor guy was level 31, and had never left Atlas Park. He was running MA missions the whole time and no one ever told him there was more than just Atlas Park to explore. He didn't even know there was a map. (I'm guessing he pressed the N key and closed his navigation window, and didn't know how to bring it back)
