An interest that survived the great collapse known as the NGE. I firmly believe that the debacle SOE created with that should be studied in any college class about working in the computer gaming field. Alienated player base, bugs galore and worse. It was the Perfect Storm of failure.
Most of my Star Wars interest comes from watching the original trilogy as a kid, and playing the KotoR games later on. Chances are I'll be playing the generic warrior, as that seems to be my place in every rpg I've tried.

I have to be skeptical though, I highly doubt this game will compete against WoW to the degree Olivia talks about during the E3 review. But this game has a lot going for it, it's a huge franchise and fan favorite and you have Bioware leading it. However there too I'm skeptical, this is Bioware's first MMO and there's only so many ways to get it right at some of their statements I was actually surprised in thinking of some of them as little kids claiming they can do something easily having not tried it before. So while I do hope the game will be good, I'm also preparing for the worst.

I signed up on the forums last night. Read a few healer threads, had an aneurysm, and went to bed. I'm Starflier over there too.
After watching TR and AoC bomb, I've learned to temper my excitement for games so I'm not too worried about being hugely disappointed, although I do hope to be delightfully surprised.

Psssh I'm just RPing a bit. I know full well the game can bomb I mean all that trailer showed us was pretty art renditions. I'm just trying to be busy so I don't grow board. Also to keep me away from general discussions since I get into arguments so much >.>;

any ideas on which the official/unofficial rp server over there gonna be?

Well, it's Bioware. They have a good track record with single-player games. They say that they're writing the missions in SW:TOR with the same intensity and attention to detail as their single-player fare. So if they screw up the mechanics, at least it will have a good story.

Odd thing is I've played here for four years knowing no one. I jump to a Star Wars game and likely half my friends would be playing. I haven't been in any solid SG since I5.
If the game works out, I'm going to try to get in on it early.
