Please add Base Recipe storage for SG/VGs.

I looked and I could not find a post on this so I am asking that much like Enhancements, make SG/VG Recipe storage.

I am in a small SG/VG and even though we play some we find that we never know who has what as far as recipes are concerned.

So I would like to ask that Recipe storage in bases be implemented so it is easier to keep track of recipes in a SG/VG.

One good idea would be to change the (now useless) Base Salvage storage into Recipe storage.

Thank you.

Salvage racks have already been changed to hold Invention Salvage rather than base salvage, albeit with a lower maximum capacity of only 30 instead of the previous 100.

I'd be all for a recipe bin of some sort for bases as well though.

Actually, the previous limit was 999.

The main argument with this is hogging from the market. Thing is enhancement bins were around before i9 so they couldn't just take them out because of the threat of enhancement hogging.

Anyways I'm against this, I'm sure recipe prices would go up because lack of supply.

And I call that a load of BS. Why?

I already store recipes in Wentworths/BM, or on my higher level characters. Or make them and throw them in my various SGs "IO Hold" bins. I know many, many others who do the same thing. It's roughly as common as breathing.

It's *already happening,* and has been since inventions came in. Removing the 60 day limit from the consignment house made it even easier.

And "Enhancement hogging?" Really? So actually doing things like, oh, crafting a bunch of lvl 15-20 Acc, Damage, and END reduciton IOs for the lowbies in the SG is a bad thing? I don't think so. Guess where they go? Hasn't seemed to hurt the market so far. Heck, I've been throwing SOs and DOs in bins since we had them to help out lowbies.

I agree.

Personally, it would really help to remove the hassle for helping a friend with IO's. For example, when I know an SG mate is looking for a particular set I'll try and save any I come across for them. But it's really inconvenient to store them in my limited market space, then have to retrieve them later, or craft them myself just to store them in the base enhancement table.

A SG base recipe bin would be a very nice convenience.

Actually the bins held 2500. The 999 display was an error that was never fixed.

This and I'll again throw my support to a compromise that has been suggested in the past several times.

Allow recipe storage with a caveat. A recipe will take up say 5 salvage slots. This will limit SGs ability to hoard recipes and make them make a decision on what they think is more important to store.

I'm not saying I'm very worried about Supergroups hoarding recipes, inf is all over that the villains market is a joke now. I'm just saying that is what comes up everytime this is suggested. And I believe it is something the devs consider otherwise it would have been wise to put in with i9, if not base storage than at least personal storage.

It looks to me like if the enhancement bins hadn't been there before i9 that they wouldn't have been put in because of the Issue.

And the rednames (Lighthouse I believe) were even stating that Wentworths and Black Market aren't for storing stuff. I do believe the 30 day limit on how long an item can be stored there is in order. I have a few toons where salvage and recipes keep disappearing from WW.

And storing things in your base for other toons and players isn't evil. But the crafting cost of recipes does make a difference, right now it is either spend the money on crafting cost and any salvage you need, have the recipe take up space on your toon, or have it take up space at Wentworths or the Black Market with a risk of losing it if you forget about it.

I forget the thread where it was pointed out to me but they showed the patch notes (I think it was patch notes) where they said that the 60 day rule was removed from the game.

Now I don't know if it actually was removed because I never use the CH for storage. So it could be that things are still disappearing. All I can say is I did read the actual message that said it was removed.

It wouldn't be the first time that the notes gave conflicting information.

Are you sure this is correct? I tried to put Invention Salvage into one of our Base Salvage storage and it declined me and said that I could not store it there.
Of course it still has some Base Salvage in it, this might be the problem.

[/ QUOTE ] It could be two things:

1. That particular character doesn't have a high enough ranking to add/take salvage.

2. You salvage rack already has more than 30(the current limit) items in it. Basically when the change was made from base salvage to only invention salvage, all the bins that exceeded the limit were able to keep stuff over the limit. You just couldn't add anything to it until you made enough room. I still have over 100(I think) sets of the costume salvage sitting in one bin.

also, /signed to your idea.

Why not just craft them and put them in the enhancment storage bin?

Because if you craft it, you are stuck with it and the extra cost of crafting it. If it turns out that it is no longer needed, you are out that money.

Storing the recipe would allow that to remain an option with no extra cost attached.

One of my points, money isn't hard to come by. Just craft it. Followed up by storing it or selling it, if you don't have the money then make some.

One of the things my SG/VG does is when a new player or a new character is made if they want wings/boots (Invention costume recipe) we give them the recipe and the salvage to get it.
Since everyone knows everyone personally in my SG/VG we don't worry about theft or such because we see each other every day.
One of our problem is determining who has what recipe. Having a place where we can store recipes would be good for us.
I just figured out what the problem is.. each of our salvage storage has 999 stuff in it. So I guess that is well over 30.
I talked to our SG/VG leader and she is going to set up a "knitting party" where we are going to make Rare Salvage out of most of our old Base Salvage.

Before you do that, have them check what the base salvage is selling for on the market. There are several pieces of base salvage that are selling for millions.

Cash those in, you'll still have plenty to convert to rare IO salvage.

What Bill said

I do exactly the same thing and not just with IO enhancements. I absolutely love the merit system and both my SGs now have 8 inspiration collectors with nothing but 100 tier 3 inspirations inside (one for every generic type). I also maintain enhancement bins with 20, 30, 40 and 50 level IOs as I can craft them for any member to use to increase their ability to play the game. Prior to IOs I did this same thing with low level TOs to assist new players. TRying to stock every type of DO or SO was impossible or course and even all the TOs would have been hard but I used to keep a supply of Damage, Accuracy, Heals, Runs, Fly, Recharge, End reduction and End Mods.. the one's the majority of all ATs could and did use. And I know plenty of other SGs that do exactly the same and have for years.

Market seems to be holding up okay, depending on who you talk to, so I don't see the issue.

Frankly I like this idea. I've had plenty of times where I had a recipe I'd have loved to have saved somehow for later use but had no where left to keep it and no one on line I could transfer it to so it ended up sold. To me this actually makes sense if I can store the raw materials why shouldn't I have a Library of sorts where I can store recipes for later reference?

Just for the sake of discussion, I'd like to point out that the devs have already given us the ability to store recipes here.

[ QUOTE ]
Black Market / Wentworth's Consignment House
Characters (on active accounts) who have inventories, bids or items for sale in the Black Market or in Wentworth's Consignment House will no longer have to log into the game within 60 days to avoid item or influence/infamy expiration.
In-game Black Market and Wentworth employees will still give their friendly reminder, however if your account is "active", they won't take your "stuff".

[/ QUOTE ]

As long as your account is active you can store recipes indefinitely in some of your market slots.

The only thing a recipe bin in a base would give us, that we don't already have, is the ability to easily move recipes between characters on the same accout without involving a third party.

And yes I want base recipe storage.

Frankly, I support even PERSONAL salvage storage being converted to multi purpose storage, with enhancements and recipes being storable for a certain salvage space amount. So I can see it for SG storage too.

That would be nice but with the removal of the 60 day rule at the CH we sort of have that now. We have to choose between storing and using the slots buy/sell at the market.

Also, the market is not cross character. If a member of my SG wants a recipe I am holding in the auction house on an alt, I have to leave my mission/group, log out, log in, get to a WW, and hand over the item. Certainly not anywhere near as useful as a base bin.

I agree completely.

I was just pointing out that the CH now can function as additional individual character storage, as long as the account is kept active.

It's not perfect, but at least it's something.
