I sincerely doubt it, but if they did I'd know it was coming.
Also I'll state without backing it up with ANY facts most of the old MMO's have taken similar just as harsh stances and punishments. Several of them also happen to still be around.
UO, Everquest, just to name the two that leap to mind. Even WoW I beleive.
Also, I'll just say we get new players all the time and leave it at that.

NP, I'll elaborate. Philly is a well known and liked (mostly?) by everyone on both the Justice Forums and on the server. The idea of her "following" you to the thread (in her "home") is a stretch and frankly, a little insulting.

I don't post much on the forums but have been around a day or two
The community is definitely a wreck and the lines have been drawn between those that support the Devs and those that want their eyeballs ripped out. Will this get any better? One can only hope.
I've been playing this game for over 5 years. I've leveled numerous toons through pure content. I've exclusively power leveled toons to try new ATs. I've deleted 50s that were PL'd. The Devs deleted 50s that were PLd. I've deleted 50s that were not. Regardless whether it was 5 years ago or today, my play style hasn't changed much.
Yes there are still some fun things to do in the game. Shard Task Forces, random PUG teams but above all else, its the community that makes me love City of Heroes. There are people here who I have known since my first level 50, Empress Ra, was level 1 back in 2004. Sadly, many of them are letting their subscriptions run out. Many of these people werent even affected by the hammer thrown down by the Devs. So why are they leaving?
You cannot treat your customer base in this manner and expect this game to survive. Especially with so many new MMOs knocking on the door. Sadly, they probably wont even realize a lot left until their accounting department notices a drastic drop off in subscriptions. Something must be done. Too many good people have left over the years. Lets not lose more.
