Didn't bother to mention Serenity because it seemed like a no brainer but now looking back, gee... nobody mentioned it?

They canceled The Unit as well. It was the only thing on TV I liked. :-(

3 back to 2 i really wish firefly people would have done what family guy did and taken the series to USA network or Sci Fi network keep building rep and eventually come back to fox like family guy did
maybe terminator people will take show to sci fi? i doubt it but i think it would make sense

[/ QUOTE ]

unfortunately, Sci-Fi is now SyFy http://www.reddit.com/r/reddit.com/r...e_itself_syfy/ which may explain why the line up now has more wrestling than actual science fiction.

I think the main reason the Daisy Adair from the Dead Like Me DVD didn't work is that they literally had to replace the original cast member at the last second from what I remember. Plus trying to replace a cast member when everyone else already has their characters down pat is very very tough to pull off. I didn't care for the new Daisy Adair at all (she didn't have the underlying sadness the original brought to the role) but she really was put in a no win situation.
That having been said I thought everyone else really nailed their characters. The Reggie and George scenes were very good and it was like watching someone put on a comfortable old pair of shoes with the other actors stepping back into their roles. Plus we got to see the old Happy Time office crew and darn it I miss those folks!

I was wondering if anyone would mention this. I really don't think they should have canceled it either.

/Agree on Firefly, and since we're bring up old canceled shows, I'll throw in my hat for Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Thankfully it lives on in spirit at www.rifftrax.com

SciFi goes through plenty of trends. As soon as they realize nobody is watching their Wrestling hours, they'll stop. Four years ago Anime shows used to be on Saturdays

Even if it doesn't get picked up though, the season was wrapped up nicely. I'll miss Charlie, but I'm content with that ending.

This really isn't true anymore.

Because of the new options we have in consuming our media these days, the nature of television programming is rapidly changing.

Something like "Damages" couldn't have happened a few years ago, let alone be successful. But it has and it is.

Shows like Firefly were, sadly, a few years too early and were launched on the wrong kind of network. But shows like that are a lot more possible today, and have a much greater chance of success, because it's much easier for them to find their niche.

It's a good thing for folks who have tastes that run counter to the mainstream... which is probably true for most everyone who posts here.

I'd have to agree that most of television right now is crap coated crap with a crap filled center. I come to that conclusion because 50% or more of the programming is 'realty television', which was kinda cool back when it was original... The Real World, Road Rules & even Fear Factor. Now it's simply boring and repeatitive. "you're fired!, 'get out of my kitchen", "I'm a cougar", "I'm a bachelor(ette)"... blah blah blah no one cares man.

I miss Dead Like Me and Farscape... a lot!

The Dead Like Me movie was pretty cool, but it just leaves more loose ends likely to not be answered. It was a different Daisy, but I don't think she was better or worse than the original. *shrug*

I'm really going to miss seeing Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles, it was one of my current favorites and definitely had potential. Kinda silly to axe it immediately after the release of Terminator 4, but whatever.

I thought Scrubs was going to be dropped as well, but rumor has it that they are going to make the most recent interns the main cast of sorts. I'm thinking I'll stick to my 8 seasons and close that book. The interns were funny, but without the main cast? Probably not so much.

My current line up...
Scrubs, Lost, Big Bang Theory, Mythbusters and Legend of the Seeker

(I'm not sure if Mythbusters is still on-air or not, been watching old episodes on the web.)

Welllll, whether it is good or bad, what it might free him up to get involved in the Buffy movie remake/reset. Right now, they are saying Whedon is not involved. He has another Horror movie he is working on. But other rumors say that the way would be completely open for Whedon to join in. He said he hopes it will be a cool movie.

The Re-Buffy is being put together by the same people who have been producing Buffy and Angel production from the original movie through all the series.
Joss-less Buffy?

Doesn't sound so bad. Though will they'll have playing as Buffy, that outta be interesting. Sarah, have to say, was pretty damn sexy.

Is buffy realy worth watching without at least the slight hope of a leather clad willow?

Pushing Daisys was the only thing worth watching. (No cable, so no BSG for me). It was such a uniquely different show. I hadn't felt that way about a show since Season 1 of Veronica Mars.

I also miss Freak-a-zoid. Especially the episodes involving candl
