Self Destruction: Bugged?
Note: There is a to hit check made against the enemies. You do actually have to hit them for it to do damage. Try swallowing a couple of yellows before you test it next time.
Do inspies buff temp powers?
Keep in mind the check is done when the power first activates. Only foes within range at that time would be affected 10 seconds later, regardless if new foes came into range, or if the existing foes moved out of range.
And no, temp powers ignore buffs.

Yes, Inspirations are a global buff.
Every time I use the power I just blow up. I thought it was supposed to make me drink too much, do drugs, sleep with unsavory women and invest my money in shady schemes.
What gives?

Good one.

Yes, Inspirations are a global buff.
[/ QUOTE ] But some powers "ignore buffs", in which case, yellows wouldn't make a difference.
You can't make it do more damage by popping reds first either.

Are you sure about that, Mateo?
According to the numbers my accuracy appears to go up on Sands of Mu, Ghost Slaying Axe and Nemesis Staff whenever I use accuracy inspirations.
Swallowing yellows before a Self Destruct always seems to insure that I hit all the enemies in my range. Is it really just blind luck?

[/ QUOTE ]Even if it did, Yellows are +ToHit, not +Acc. Powers cannot ignore ToHit buffs because ToHit buffs do not affect powers directly, they affect players.

[/ QUOTE ] Well temp powers are supposed to ignore buffs, but maybe that only applies to their Damage. The info is a little vague as far as tohit and accuracy goes.

Well, to be precise, Veteran Reward temporary powers ignore all personal buffs except Accuracy/To-hit. All other Temp powers can be buffed even with Rage, BU, inspirations, Power Up etc.

I blew up a bunch of Clockwork with Self-destruct on Sunday morning.

Most are like that. Buffs to accuracy work ANYWAY.

[/ QUOTE ]For the last time, Yellows don't buff accuracy, and never have. They buff ToHit. Which is not an aspect of the power, but of the player.

Ah, it would make sense to make any 'non-temporary' temp power the same as the Vet Temp powers since they never run out (which kind makes them non-temporary in fact).
It may still be affected with To-hit because IIRC from the Vet reward temp power discussion with Castle, that there was no-way to exclude the To-hit.
Should be easy to check.. BOOM!

No power ignores Global +ToHit or Global +ACC if they're currently active.
Self Destruction's final ToHit is affected by Yellows. If one doubts this, then test it in game by checking your ToHit Roll v. a specific foe with and without Yellows as you use Self Destruction on them. I did when the power first became available and Yellows changed the ToHit Roll.

Does that mean Build Up and Aim affect it?
Yes, the Acc/ToHit part. It helps with Sands of Mu, Nem Staff, Black Wand, and GS Axe which also 'resists buffs'.

Other powers you have, can raise the percentage of successful usage of temp powers, like Darkest night which lowers an enemy's ability to resist damage, among other things.

You mean Tar Patch (scroll down to Tar) which has a 30% Resist Damage Debuff (unenhanceable).
Darkest Night reduces the amount Damage the foes inflicts upon you (-37.5% for critters, -50% v. Players (unenhanceable)).

The one other thing, Self Destruct rolls to hit at the moment you activate it, not when it goes BOOM. So plan your death blossom attack accordingly.

oops ya Tar Patch, Thanks!
I've tried testing it a couple of times now and it has done absolutely no damage to the enemy. Are there any known issues with it?
