J-Force: One Billion Influence Essay Contest
I dunno why we're expecting all that much tho. I mean, it isn't like this is Virtue. These guys on Freedom can barely string a sentence together, Trix.
J-Man- Lieran, if you were Paris Hilton, I'd be the chihuahua in your purse.
Here is my submission:
Why I like the J-Force .... All my friend are there and they bring me debt
enough said
The reason I love J-Force......wait, who is J-Force and why should I love or hate them? Screw this I'm out of here.
We'll keep the judging open until the end of the month, hopefully coinciding with a formal J-Anniversary celebration.
I love J-force....
Because...he is...
Whats this I hear about a popularity contest?
Why I hate the J-Force
I have been playing this game since release. I have never heard of this group. The only reference I have ever heard of J anything other than J-Lo, was once long ago. I believe the man/woman/hermaphrodite referred to themselves as JRanger, and would post in threads with only the word "no" as a response. It got to the point that peopl would begin answering questions with "/JRanger" instead of the word no.
And that Is why I hate the J-Force.
Or maybe Love them?
Ah screw it

J-Force :: The Unseen Supergroup of Over-populated Freedom
There is something inexplicable about the so called J-Force. One of these things is that so many people seem to think that you either have to love or hate them. Whatever the case maybe, what I have to ask is who the heck are the J-Force and why would they be offering so much influence to have people write about them if they weren't trying to get more publicity?
The inexplicable part of the J-Force to me is that I have never run into them. Yes, I have heard rumor of this infamous J-Man and the rag-tag group of followers that are members of said J-Force. I have even seen a J-Force tag on a wall - perhaps it was in King Row? This highly visible J-Force has the amazing ability to hide in plain sight on the most populated server (aka Shard) known only as "Freedom". Some would think that a group of this incredible presence would be unmissable with in the plethora of heroes within those tall concrete and force-field walls of Paragon City, but they would be wrong.
It has come to my attention that some love the J-Force, while others just have a bitter, in-built hatred for them. Is this a matter of being heroic or villainous, or is it something else entirely. I'm sure many have good grounds for picking either decision, at least as far as their own personal opinions of the situation. I myself have no real call at all and, therefore, stand with both feet firmly in neutral ground on the situation. J-Force has doing nothing astonishing that I have witnessed, nor have I seen them functioning in a catty or underhanded manner. I have simply had no contact with them whatsoever.
So really it comes down to why would they be offering a whopping full billion influence for people to boost their egos with praise or smash them to tiny bits upon the rocky shore of ridicule? It seems a quite spectacular way for a group that seems greedy for attention to draw such to themselves so that they can squirm in the sheer delight of it's presence. Oh, yes, the may be another reason. It may be publicity. Perhaps membership is down among the said J-Force. And what of their leader J-Man? It is said he is legendary, but has not his so-called J-Man said that he was legendary all along?
In closing, I would like to point out a few things about the J-Force. They are apparently in need to show proof that they are mighty and possibly legendary by giving away a large amount of influence for perhaps no other reason than being benevolent to the community that they hold dear. The fact that I have fought in the streets of the Shard known as Freedom for many years and have seen no sign of the said J-Force leads me to believe that they may be purely mythic and, in fact, may not actually exist; are the J-Force simply a "big fish" story? It apparently has been said that you have to love the J-Force or hate them. To me this is simply not the case. Who is this J-Force and who has truly seen the legendary acts of J-Man? I can not make judgment upon what I have not encountered, unfortunately, that includes the J-Force.

You see Lieren what we are really bankin' on is the Freedom community's intense, rumored, undeniable greed.

You ever see the video of me kickin'n Rystorm in the nuts?
If you haven't then you've been livin under a rock so I guess its fergivable.
I love the J-Force enough to make my first post here in hopes of winning!
Why I love the J Force?
Let me preface by saying that I do not know all members of the J Force. I've teamed with several of them individually but haven't had the opportunity (or guts, who knows) to be one of the so called n00b PUGs on one of their teams.
A lot of players, individually, in game and on the forums, show what I like/understand as a necessity in City of Heroes:
<ul type="square">
· be a part of Freedom
· have a tough skin, which is redundant with the previous bullet point, but I've heard 'redundancy is good' too often
· have fun
· make fun of others (very often) and yourself (very rarely)
· be part of the community by participating in / running various events -be it pve or peevpee- through the multitude of channels available to us: the game, the channels, the forums.[/list]The J Force is the only group of players I know that appears to be formed by people that ALL meet those requirements very regularly.
Slightly offtopic: The one billion influence will be used to pay for the technical fees resulting from the epiphany I just had: I love myself and would love to be able to clone myself. Sadly I lack the financial funds to do so. *Paging Dr. Aeon*
To all the exceptional people on Freedom, old and new. Happy Xth CoH Anniversary!

Wow - just wow - I saw this last night when I was able to login during the Sara Moore TF, but did not get a chance to respond...
I have to say, I am quite surprised - I mean I knew J liked bad poetry (after reading his bad poetry for the last five years in the J-Force thread it was obvious), but I did not think it would float with the rest of the J-Force...
I mean, they have, afterall, been subjected to J's bad poetry for the past 5 years...Why would they vote for even more bad poetry?
Perhaps they are all just a little bit masochistic...
...anyway, thanks J-Force for voting my little "Ode to the J-Force" as the winner of the One Billion Influence Contest!
Mr Trix: As far as when I am on - I login most nights after 10pm eastern - and under normal circumstances, log out by 2am eastern. (Got to have some beauty sleep)
Thanks again!

You're not allowed to fix it. We've still got at least 3 more pages of insensitive commentary to get out of your inability to read several lines appropriately.

I read them, they registered. I looked at the commentary. It wasn't even that effectively insensitive. Jy00 suX0r would have been more intelligent. And insightful. And slightly less off-topic.

We're in a J-force thread. It's on topic to be off topic. That's how they work. Thank you for playing though. Next time you might want to remember where you're posting.
