The OP had a legitimate concern and suggestion. It may not be the best idea or the most thoroughly thought through, but shooting him down like you all did was lame.
I do think some servers are far too small in population, but there are too many difficulties in taking other servers down.

The OP didn't draw any fire until HE started acting like a jerk in his second post.
And as was pointed out numerous times theres a simple solution to his legitimate concern. He has the choice of playing on a server with a larger population.
If you like your hamburger flame broiled you don't insist that Wendy's and McDonald's merge. You take your butt to Burger King.

I still think people came in here with an agenda of flaming at the get-go, but that's pure speculation. The problem with joining a hugely populated server is that it's only adding to the overpopulation issue. I wish there was a middle ground we could all find.
I have seen threads remain quite polite despite their being hot topics. Quite recently in fact. However the hostile tone the OP set in this thread only confirmed any assumptions people may have had coming into this thread and then they may have felt justified responding in kind.
Of course there is always a small group that are antagonistic right out of the gate.
Maybe if there was an indication on the login server list that told people that the first server listed was the last one they logged onto and the rest of the servers are listed by population lowest to the highest. Then they could make an informed choice.
(and personally, when I do go out for fast food, I get my fries from McDonalds, my burgers from Burger King, and my chili and milkshakes from Wendy's. All three stores are in the same strip mall near my home.)

Depends on what you consider acceptable middle ground. Infinity and Justice regularly come in third on overall population behind Freedom and Virtue, so that might do for you right there. What you deem 'far too small in population' is also quite a bit and most servers have no problem accomplishing anything and everything in the game.
Some servers you may have to wait a few more minutes or put forth a bit more effort, but there's teams everywhere. A lot of this 'problem' is overblown. Which doesn't become an issue until people come here wanting other servers shut down so they don't have to wait those few minutes or put forth that effort. Of course, merging the servers would drive a lot of people to quit when they lost their names, their SGs, quite possibly many of their characters for those that have many alts... yeah, it's a terrible solution to a problem many players who take the time to use the tools that are out there don't even have.
And for those who for whatever reason must have the high population in order to have a satisfying game experience, there's nothing to stop them from making characters on Freedom or paying to transfer there.
