Infinity's MA AD Thread

Aeoleon

Posted

I know it's still in open beta, but I figured we should get this started now. Hopefully, we'll come across some gems and have a barrel of fun while diggin' for 'em. So please do drop some MA arcs in here for your fellow players of Infinity to enjoy, even if it's currently only on the test server.

I'd suggest a concise, general format that lets people know what to look for, and also for the poster to announce any details he/she might want known in order for feedback to be used to its full potential. For example:

MArc Title: Welcome to Architect Entertainment
MArc ID#: 4019
MArc Level Setting: All (recommend 8+, though)
# of Missions: 4
Length: 10-20 minutes
Synopsis: a tour of Architect Entertainment's system of limitless possibilities, brought to you by none other than the great Dr. Aeon himself. Of course, things aren't always what they seem.

I do hope I've caught your interest. If so, Dr. Aeon is eagerly expecting you. Going for a 5-star rating, so all feedback is appreciated, especially the sort suggesting improvements.

Sounds interesting....

My SS/EA will be all over it, heh.

It's a shame I can't check my current creations or I'd have days worth of work already invested (accursed bugs!).

Ignoring anyone is a mistake. You might miss something viral to your cause.

My first arc is completed. It was a lot of fun to make, and I really hope people will play and enjoy it.

It's the first in a series that will eventually expand to 3 arcs. The overall story is called King of Thieves, and this first story arc is called All Hell's Breaking Loose.

So in the MA list it looks like this: King of Thieves part 1: All Hell's Breaking Loose. I'm at work right now, so I cant check the arc number for you.

The enemies are all custom, so characters of any level can participate. I was able to solo it, but I really do recommend it as a team experience.

A briefish summary. King Midas wants to formalize his control over the Cap Au Diable crime world. But rival gangs have recently grown in power, and Midas turns to a band of rising villains to help him bust up the rival gangs.

In All Hell's Breaking Loose, your characters face off against a poweful cult of Hellions, who seem to have legitimate infernal backing. Can you find the power behind the cult before they succeed in their nihilistic vision of a world washed away in a fiery tide of destruction.

Maybe, but the real question is, how much does it pay?

The suggested morality is villainous, but go ahead and bring your hero if you want to try it. I'd apreciate any and all feedback.

kinda generic story I'm working on, but there's so much to do in MA I'm gonna wait till it's live to finish it. Basic story is, two brothers, one hero, one villain; Villain hires someone to attack the Hero and his wife and she gets abducted. Along the way you'll fight some Freakshow, Council, possibly some custom mobs and a few AVs and run across some of my old characters to help back you up.

After extensive rewriting I'm ready to republish arc @@@@@

4 missions long

Please run and rate and if you have arc's you want tested or just to be seen get me your arc number. I've seen some real stinkers but there is some great works in progress on test right as well.

Grrr...

I was trying to finish up my arc today, only to realize that I'm limited to 5 missions!

My first arc didn't work out the way I originally planned it, when I realized that if I wanted to have 3 custom factions, then I could would only have enough space to put them in a stand alone mission, inside a map with zero spawn points.

A re-write ensued.

I wasn't using any custom stuff, just messing around with what's there and trying to work on the objective dependency triggering in the second mission - it didn't work like I had hoped, so I had to scrap the first idea I had.

Now I just need to decide which mission I want to eliminate... I'm leaning towards the defeat all Carnies.

Well, my arc broke due to the most recent patch. Dang, there go all my ratings. It's now republished under ID #13220.

I'm going to try and get something up later this week. Just rebooted my account again and am just waiting on test server to update with the account management data.

If anyone has the time, I know most are working on their own arcs, could you give my arc a run through. Details are below:

Arc ID: 12560
Length: Long (it is 4 missions, took less than an hour)
Morality: Heroic
Description: The Hellions are becoming more organized and someone is behind this change. Their arson targets have been more strategic and it appears that they are using them to cover up their real purpose. Find out who is behind this and what they are after. (Team recommended if you can't handle an end of arc AV/EB).

Thanks for any feedback.

The &nbsp has hit me, I've had to lump the title together and can't seem to get rid of another in my description. Also the description as it appears above no long fits in the window, probably more to do with the &nbsp problem.

Other than that, it is playable and I don't think it's impacted the rest of the arc.

Okay then, now that the test run has been completed with my Welcome to Architect Entertainment arc, it's time to get serious. I present the first installment in my This is War story:

This is War, Part I - the Revenge of Hro'Dtohz
ID#: 16012
Author: @Acid Zero

Ha, the day I finally fire up Test to see what the hooplah is about, they announce it's imminently coming to live.
Typical.

I look forward to seeing what you've been building, folks.

Statesmonkey Sez: Lighten up! It's a game, for Lincoln's sake!
Also: Six years of casual play begins to look an awful lot like one year of hardcore play.

Ok, after loads of rewriting I republished arc id 18163

A tip for people new to Mission Architect; write your stuff up in Word or some other program with spellchecker then copy&paste it to MA. It'll save you a lot of time hunting down your typos. Wish I would have done that 1st time.

My arc is 4 missions long and I think it fits in the Cimeroran arc nicely. Some elite bosses and an AV if your teams large enough in last mission. Best to have a tank or a well built scrapper/brute. Please leave your mission name in response box ( because arc id's change after editing ) and I'll be happy to play yours

MArc Title: Torment be Dammed
MArc ID#: 17044
MArc Level Setting: 30+
# of Missions: 1
Length: 10-20 minutes
Synopsis: Torment has convinced a bunch of freakshow to take over the Faultline damn for some nefarious plot. Contains a difficult fight with 3 EB/AVs at once. Has a Thor's Assassin cameo in it as well.

Scrapped my idea of having an arc as soon as i14 goes live, but anyone else that wants to advertise for their live arcs starting tomorrow, feel free!

In the meantime, I'm wondering about how silly an enemy group I can make instead of trying to actually fit a six-mission arc into five missions.

Okay then, so if everything worked out okay, the AE system should be live soon, and with that a good number of dev-choice arcs.

If that's the case, then I'm going to need the help of my fellow Infinity players now.

Basically, it boils down to "play my arc that I hope is still there in the dev choice bracket" - I have 2 others in the waiting, but need to unlock a bunch of stuff on live first (costumes and maps), and need tickets to do so ASAP. So on live today, please see if you can find Welcome to Architect Entertainment and give it a play and a rate - preferably with a team.

I gave up on MA when I found I couldn't use scrapyarders as a level 50 group. Forces the Concept OSHA TF I wanted to do at a max level of 30. Maybe they'll open the level range for all the enemy groups but I doubt it. Customizable maps and a larger memory space for each arc would have been nice too.
Disappointing.

I am really hoping i15 brings me something to keep me after 60 months other than the weak 5 merit vet reward. Saving 50% on all my tailoring seesions for the 57 month reward was really special... It will come in handy once I have used my 30+ costume tokens on each of my toons.

Good luck to those making arcs.... you have some fun challenges with the limitations the devs have given you.

MArc Title: Broken Hearts
MArc ID#: 9923
MArc Level Setting: All (recommend 25+, though)
# of Missions: 2
Length: Yes (will vary widely based on powersets).
Synopsis: A new female gang is moving in, and the local gangs are getting nervous. Especially when their own start disappearing.

Notes:
Mostly lethal damage!
Mob AI gets dumber as more powers become available.
I should've made it harder... my WS had a bit too easy of a time soloing it.
Making tiny mobs is fun.
