In all the writing I've done in my life, I've never let anything stop it except the occasional case of writer's block. If I have an idea, a premise, a storyline... I'm putting it out there and I won't stop until it's complete, simply because I know it will eat at me internally if I don't finish. True writers live and die with their stories, because each word is a part of them laid bare for others to see.

Finish your story, hun. It'd be wrong not to.

I'd love to give my two cents, but they would be a repeat of what everyone else said. I say you finish it. That Strike Force is the FIRST we are hearing about this, and the wording is vague at best, left open to interpretation. I say you are totally green-lit to finish this story.

Plus let's be real, Positron would have to meet Infernal's approval to get anywhere near Numina. I don't know if anyone in Paragon, even Positron, can get the good graces of that guy.

See, it's because of developments like this that I've stopped incorporating the Developer NPCs in my writing. They keep doing things with them that have no consideration for fan fiction.

Still, I would recommend finishing the story. Think of it as being an alternate universe if you need to justify it somehow. Or go with interpretations that the Villains are using terms that are too extreme for what the Heroes are actually doing, and that where we see friendship and respect, they see "boring, stupid love..."

So far, this isn't anything like what happened between Manticore and Sister Psyche, which was a heavy application of foreshadowing in the comics. There's no such guarantee here.

Good to know that the story will go on. Although the chapter left a few question marks in my brain. I'm certainly not as familiar with CoH lore as the bunch of you guys, lol.

Thank you. I had so much story left to tell that part of me was loath to stop. Fortunately for me, my friends were able to reinforce that part of me.

That thread starts out as both story AND comments, and eventually becomes just story (I started the Discussions thread later when the story became surprisingly popular). Book I is posted in its entirety as a PDF as well (in the CITY OF HEROES section of the page), if you don't want to read the commentary.

Book II is only available on the forums right now coz it's still in progress.

Heh, sometimes our circle of friends (both RL and Star Patrol SG mates) can go on about the CoH canon (along with it's baffling inconsistencies) for hours. Gets some amusing looks in restaurants, as you can imagine.

Which can be both incredibly useful when one of us is trying to remember how something goes because we're about to write it, and incredibly amusing when we get the strange looks from the RP'd aspects ("Yeah, so <character> got stuck with both his current and and former girlfriends, and we're running around getting to know each other while he's trying to find a hole to drop into" -- the waitress gave us a really weird look for that one, and that was one of the more innocuous comments).

Keep in mind also that while there's CoH lore, there's also Star Patrol lore, and that while the latter definitely depends on the former, the CoH lore could ignore the SP lore and keep going on. Samuraiko and I both try to keep CoH lore as much as possible when writing (although I've gone rather further outside the core basis than she has), but due to the nature of what we're writing, it's going to deviate into an alternate universe of sorts - especially now.

When you have questions to toss out, sometimes the answer will come back as "oh, it's X in CoH cannon." On the other hand, it's also likely to get "It's X sometimes, but there's Y and Z that contradict it, so we're using this interpretation because we like it better." And then on the left foot, you may also receive the answer of "We completely made that up because it fit."

Just got around to reading the installment from a couple weeks ago. Great chemistry there. And I have lived through a morning much like theirs.

Also that art is awesome. The first picture reminds me of one of my favorite pictures of Colossus and Shadowcat together. The second is pure win.
