Yes, I'm still alive - John's shift changed as of this weekend, and I've been busy working on other stuff (not the least of which is arguing with myself about whether I'm going to bother with the I-14 trailer or just say 'the hell with it'). (As for why I've not been on the game... I was at HeroCon. Work it out from there.)

I love your work Dark. I've been re-reading Unexpected Results again. Your characterization is incredible, your dialogue sublime, and each word is perfectly used. It's so hard to make superheroes feel real, and you do it admirably well.

Hey Dark, you remember when I originaly watched your I10:invasion Trailer? You remember what I said about it? Sadly that post has been swallowed into the abyss of the archives so I can't just copy and paste it.
Anyway, I had mentioned the story line I was working on dealing with a third invasion by the Rikti and how I had somewhat lost interest in it. But after watching your video I was rejuvenated to continue work on my story line.
Apparently, I didn't give you enough credit. A couple days back, I went to work on the primer-file for the story line (a consolidated PDF that gives the back ground leading into that story line with bios of the main players and break downs of the events that lead to the invasion). You had originaly auditioned Sorina for an open part I had in the comic. I had turned her down for that part, because I could see how much effort you had put into her as a character and I didn't want to waste that by using her in a throw away capacity. So, after several other exchanges we had, plus reading CoSHR, I decided to integrate Sorina more fully into the time-line of my stories, and have her being the one that lead the team in the "save the world" mission from Dark Watchers Arc.
And now, after providing me with so much in terms of motivation, inspiration and material, I find that just as effectivally as you motivated me, you have now errected a brick wall that I have smashed into face first. I awaken only semi-consious of the throbbing pain I feel across the front of most of my body, fully cognisent of the fact that there is a wall in my path. As I look to my right, I see the wall streches on for as far as I can see. I look to my left and am greated with a similar sight. I am already aware that I do not posses the physical attributes to break through the wall. So I am left with but a single choice: To pick a direction and start walking it until I find a way over the wall.

Now, what the hell did I just say? Well, to put it simply: "DAMN IT DARK! Stop with the evil teasing!!"

You now hold a most unique possition in my world. You have become both inspiration and Obstruction in the same work. With one effort you had rejuvinated me to return to my project and with another you enthrall me to the point that I wish to integrate it into my works, but must now wait on my works so that you can finish your works.

Please raise your hand if this post sounded as confussing to you to read as it did for me write....

All that asside, awsome chapter. I'm really loving the building tension. I admit, I was expecting Honoree to step out of the portal, and I was somewhat shocked when I read that 5 rikti had stepped out of it. But no where near as shocked as when I saw these new Rikti Using magic abilities.

I'm really looking forward to reading the duel between Hro'Dthoz and Av'And. Mostly because I NEED to know who wins!!!!!

OMG......OMG........ Rikti Magus on Steriods thats evil but a Rikti with a sythe thats so SWEET the grim ripper of the rikti enters the world and wants Hro'Dthoz's soul. I was also thinking that Honoree would show is ugly face though the portal or at least another Omega Team Member since what only 3 or 4 are alive. The new Rikti seem cool and Positron seems so help less right now i almost feel sorry for the guy being a hero and all and he is still helpless. I hope Phillips makes it or goes down in a blaze for glory and taking all the rikti near by for the ride. But really some call the Midnight squad they need back up. I love this chapter and it was so worth the wait keep you the good.. YAY RIKTI WITH THE SYTHE

I'm surprised - no one's mentioned the art yet? Then again, I did post the chapter really late last night, so it's possible most of my readers just haven't gotten to it yet.

To answer Torroes' statement, yes, it sort of made sense... sort of. Glad I inspire, sorry I obstruct.

To answer inferno, like I said earlier... as if I'd cop out so easily and just have the Honoree show up. And Phillips surviving was actually one of my last-minute inspirations, thanks to yet ANOTHER conversation with my husband John.

To answer Hitsu, I'm hoping yes, more will get written faster. It's just that this is tougher ground for me to write (although one-on-one combat I've had a lot of practice writing, thanks to several duel scenes from THE SWORD OF THE SOUL).

And believe me, I want the Hro'Dtohz/Av'Adn duel to be teeth-clenchingly awesome as I can possibly make it.

I would have talked about it last night, but I was still somewhat in shock after the whole wall-impact scenario.

I went back and re-read the passage describing Av'And and tried to imagine him in my head, then I went back and looked at the picture. I'm glad you posted the picture. The image I was getting was way different then the image you posted.

Also I get the feeling that Av' and Hro have some history together, I mean more then simple rivalry of positions.

I hate to say it...but waaay back in the day... I said you are EBIL... and this whas the thought I had. I've been on raids. And scarier than Hro'drotz or the master at arms are the freaking Rikti Magus. I don't have a toon save my Stone tank that isn't chewed up by them. I was wrong on the number and their motivation but I knew this was what was coming through.
