I don't think you really needed to read 300 or Sin Ctiy to enjoy those movies, but without reading Watchmen I don't think you'd want to see it.

Haven't read the graphic novel myself, but it's more of me just finding an excuse to GET THE EFF OUT OF THE HOUSE. Nothing else I want to see in theaters right now.
I bet you would like it Voodoo. Not corny like other super hero movies....it brings up a lot of philosophical questions about humanity as a whole and really pushes you to think about those things.

I've read Watchmen, and while I understand all of the higher morals and the overall breakdown of the story... It wasn't an interesting read for me.
I'm willing to wait for rental or HBO on this. Most of my SG is split on this one. The people that haven't read it don't care, and the ones that have are too excited.
The themes of the story sound interesting to me, but I'm more ambivalent about the characters, as well as not caring too much for how many of the themes are explored. I'm thinking there are other stories and movies that pursue such themes in a better way, but that's just my opinion, and an opinion that hasn't read the book, either.

What about running an Ouroboros TF or a story arc in flashback mode? There wouldn't be as many merits as a true TF but it might be a nice change of pace. Say somethin AV heavy like Mendor Silos' villain TF or Viridian's story arc. Or maybe both, Silos' villain TF is pretty short.
