Deep within their base, in her room sitting cross legged sat Jelidan. She was centering her mind after a recent run-in with Romulus. Her blade glowed softly in the candlelit room, as Jelidan seemed to phase in and out of visibly with each passing breath. Suddenly, she came into sharp focus as one particular voice from the many voices of her blade cut like a razor through her meditation.
"The Invaders are coming, and they are here."
Opening her eyes and rising from her kneel, she activated her comm,
"Raven, Silent. Priority Tasking. Drop what you're doing and return to base."
Cutting the comm and crossing to the small terminal, she activated it and waited. Minutes later there was an alert message, a call to arms, asking for volunteers to help fight the rikti. Once more she, and her fellow heroes, would answer the call. Once more they would defend this land she now called home. Once more they would test their skill, their might, their powers, and abilities, and heed the call to protect those unable to do so.
Maybe this time the Rikti would be pushed back once and for all.
After seeing the tasking involved Raven piped up: "Jel, you think it will spill over to the Rogue Isles? I know some honorable villains that could do with a heads up... I could also call on some other lower level heroes if they need more bodies."
Elsewhere at the same time as Jelidan was summoning her fellow heroes, the same alert flashed over the HUD of a new lesser Armored hero. She too would answer the call. As would many around her. If the Rikti think they can invade and take over her net, they have another thing coming.

Joshua sat on the roof of his skyscraper apartment in Steel Canyon. Since the magical shard he used to carry had completely absorbed into his being, there had been many many changes. A troll no longer, he had become something else. Part human, part troll, and part.... alien? He had gone into seclusion for a long time during the process, staying near his apartment, helping only the trouble came to him.
But now, a disturbing sense of a coming battle, a storm, had fallen over him again just before receiving the message on his dusty commlink. Perhaps it was time to step forward again? Perhaps it was time to be a hero again?
He reached for the commlink and after another brief moment of thought, entered the information.

Standing in the shadow of Atlas, a lone figure, lost and broken stood. The wind tossed Taliesen's hair about him, tousled the fur along his bushy tail, but it's caress went unnoticed. He lifted his gaze to the flag atop the city hall, reflecting on the symbolism that rest in it's billowing red, white and blue. He had discovered that while he was a defender of freedom, he could also render one a prisoner, as well. He had struggled with this personal demon ever since he attacked his alternate universe self.
He had broken the other in body and spirit and in doing so, had broken something in himself. He had taken the dark Taliesen's freedom away. Purpose? Why was he still plugging away at this if he could so easily hurt someone else? Someone who still was willing to forgive him that anger. His security level knocked on the door to true Hero of the City and yet he had lost heart.
His comm alerted the coming Rikti attacks and once again, the pain and the losses staggeringly so. He had adopted this city that needed him. He cared about it. It was a city that was willing to forgive the dark sided version and give that one a chance to return and also a city that embraced all of the different. He cared. And the call was extended to all able.
With a quiet nod of renewed purpose, he realized that it was their freedoms, his own, his alternate's freedom, all of the citizens that he fought for.

Another part of the city, another Nalron, golden in fur, crouched in a half-kneel on the edge of the war wall. His curiosity intense as he watched the blue shimmering pulses, waiting for them to drop again. He contemplated the message he had recieved, mulling it over and over. It was a big decision for him.
Justin Fletcher feared the Rikti but he wasn't about to let them beat him ever again. His future depended on his bravery. He owed it to his father laying in the Chiron hospital recovering from a back-breaking attack. He was a future echo of proof that the dark Taliesen had good in him and he was determined to live up to his father's example.
Rising from the wall, he dove, letting flames lick around himself as he soared downward towards Talos' center, grabbing his comm as he did so, in his daredevil-ish way. "Codename: Argent Force, reporting for Star Striders. I'm ready for any assignment."
