Without some physical therapy... yes. Is it healthy.. no. He really needs to be extending and stretching that arm to regain 100% mobility with it. There is the rare possibility that there is some residual damage that prevents him from extending it fully (neither of my elbows lock out, but they have always been that way). But likely those muscles got "comfortable" in the cast and it takes some work to stretch them back to where they should be (im guessing its the bicep thats stuff and causing the extra resistance).

Its not so much a factor of time (check state laws on statute of limitations for civil cases) but more a factor of proof. Only documented procedures, injuries, etc are usually accepted for these sorts of cases, so unless there is a good deal of documention about what went down and why (there may have been a legitimate reason for not using the forceps) you would be high and dry. A lot of this would depend on what got stuck and where. Usually its the shoulders that get stuck and the tongs are used to gently pull the head, but if its the head that gets stuck, the tongs are useless because they cannot get around the head in the first place. Forcing them runs a high risk of injury to both mother and child, and thus hands are used as best as possible since it is a very serious condition that needs to be remedied fast.

You can always schedule an initial consultation with a personal injury law firm to get an assessment on your case as they would better be able to advise you based on the laws of your locality. (Initial consultations are sometimes free and usually (if not free) fairly cheap compared to immediately opening a case file.)

Darn skippy. If it doesnt scare you, you arent ready yet for kids. Fear is natural once you realize just how intensive kid care is.

The worst thing about kids is that they can bring you to the lowest low and the highest high in a really short time frame. Emotional rollercoaster. And when you get more than one, they can tag-team and either make the lows lower or the highs higher, and sometimes they take turns on each end balancing each other's actions out. Go in with an open mind, do your time, and dont get too attached to them cause they'll be gone before ya know it. Until they hit 18 remember you are the adult/parent first and thier friend second. Dont screw that one up (we dont need more whiny/emo/angst-ridden Gen Y'rs).

And yeah Ill get bathed in naptha for this, but step-parenting sucks. Big time. Especially when they get older. Im yet to meet someone in person that has happy things to say about it. You had better REALLY love your spouce if he/she has kids already. Just a friendly warning from some who is there now.

Net made a very good point. In the US the statue for childhood injuries doesn't run until they are 18. I'm not an attorney so I can't say for sure but I remember kids can file pediatric cases either up until age 18 or they get an additional 2 years once they hit 18.

Older son's winter baseball league folded so we have to join the neighboring communities program. Only an extra 5 minutes of driving but we don't know any of the kids or coaches. This should be VERY interesting.

Funny moment from the golf cource today.
#7 is a 380yrd hole, but you start about 70-80ft above the hole. No biggie. Easy to drive 350 but its nothing you'll brag about. So I let one rip 330-340. As we start down the hill to the women's tee for my wife, my son says he wants to run down the hill. We say its okay after my wife hits, so he goes back to the top of the hill and waits. After my wife hits he, I tell him its okay. And down he goes full steam, until he hits the flat portion where the women's tee is. Stumble... stumble..... face plant... skid. Before he even gets up, "I'm good." *just like in the pepsi commercials http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8OriX9PWqs* And then he got up and continued to the bottom of the hill as fast as he could (he's 7).
Im glad i had a nice long way to get my ball because i couldn't stop laughing. And yes, he was just fine. The grass is nice and thick and the ground soft from recent rains.

Ah, don't you miss the days when YOU were indestructible too?
I'm 32, and I blew my ankle out yesterday stepping out of the FREAKIN' SHOWER!?!?!?

I remember when my niece was 8, she was on a hayride, and it hit a bump, she bounced off the hay cube, onto the wood deck of the trailer, rolled off the back, and into a pile of uncarved pumpkins which toppled over on her, laughing the whole while. I freaked out, leaped off the back of the trailer, and all she said was, "WOO! Look at me I'm the Great Pumpkin!", I just sighed, started my heart again, and said, "Yes, you are. Let's get you a candy apple, Great Pumpkin." She hooted and hollered and bounced off the pumpkin pile back down the path towards the orchard, as I shook my head and laughed.
A fall like that would have snapped my neck like a twig, and she thought it was the most fun thing in the world.

BA... I thought that you were older than I am. Ha! If you are 32, we're the same age.

Great stories.

32! Damn, I'm feeling old. (Yea, but percentage-wise, they're catching up) Oh, and saw GP on the other day. I was in log-out mode and needed to check email or I would have said "hi" then.

My 3 year old is on his big wheel, tooling around this little cul-de-sac while we're out on a walk. He's hauling ***, and turns to look back at us and yells "lookit me dad!" He then turns his head back around just in time to take a mailbox to the face. The big wheel goes flying, he goes flying, his mother is screaming, I'm running over there trying not to laugh my *** off, because that was about the funniest looking thing I've seen in ages. I get to him, he rolls over, puts his hand on his face and says "Ow." Then he starts laughing, which of course sets me off even more. So we're both sitting there laughing when my wife gets there and starts giving him the mom once-over, while looking at us like we're a couple of idiots. Ah, how I remember being young and unbreakable...

Yeah, as soon as I turned 30 I injured myself like 4 times that year. It was as if the warranty suddenly ran out on my body.

This goes on the list of "The things we do for our kids"
A lot of things on that list are sacrificing finance or time that you would have spent doing something else or yadda yadda but holding back laughter is a big one to me:

Last week my daughter and I are playing Mariokart on the Wii and she asks me how I'm doing tricks on the ramps. "Oh you just flick the steering wheel up, sweetie"

She tries it twice and pulls it off, continues to whip off some cool tricks then BAM! Hits herself in the head with the steering wheel trying to do it again. Funniest thing I've ever seen but I had to hold it back to save my little girl's dignity. The things we do....or not do....lol.

They make padded stering wheels and play bats, although I would still recommend GP that you not buy the game just to bang yourself in the head. Afterall, you can do that anytime for free.

It's pretty addictive, not cox addictive but it's fun, especially when you get into unlocking everything. Which reminds me, darn I still gotta kill 75 more fake nemesis for that gun! *runs off*

I am not a parent but, just wanted to say "this" is one of the main reasons to play this game. I like games with a more mature playerbase. They understand when you cant be on all the time due to work and real life issues. Games like WoW use to be like that, but now it is more of a kids playground lol. They dont care if you work, if you are not on by a certain time for a raid/instance/pvp group then you can get kicked out. I have been in those before, and just left. Anyway, sorry for posting on this thread. Still at work and I always check this site out

My take on Christmas. It puts me soooo behind on bills flawlessly. I'm all for the family hibernating from Dec 5th (3rd childs Bday) until March 25th (2nd childs Bday). We're not Christian, why do I feel bad if I don't blow a gazillion dollars on my kids?!?

You should only feel bad if you spend money on your kids in an attempt to make up to them some other neglect. If you love your kids, listen to what they have to say, make as much time as you can for them, when they grow up they will love you for it. The gifts blend together with age and end up meaning nothing.
