Ok wasn't sure exactly how deviant works since I am fairly new to it.Though I do know that photobucket had a little hissy when I posted a picture of myself with a phalic image drawn on my face.
It was a VERY mild picture, cartoonish in nature, yet they deemed it highly inappropriate.
For the first one I will keep it on the safer side.

Well, yes, Deviant Art does have limits as well. Those limits can be found at: http://help.deviantart.com/565/

I liked the sketches from Alex, but I think I liked the Turbo Ski-Kite one the best so far.

Thanks very much.I for some reason could not find that, or anything like it.
<-dummy

I am fairly sure my pic slightly violates one of those rules, so I am gonna remove it soon. Not something I really wanted on my DA anyways.

I get a bad enough rep without posting pictures like that. >_<

I do still need art practice though. But maybe something SFW this time, even if drawing clothes does give me a headache.

I think you did a very nice job on that piece, even if it is on the edge of the rules. I think what I like most is the expression on the character's faces.

Well it's time to leave this thread to those who wish to continue it.

I might have gone too far, but then again, I didn't get to play with any of the guys.

Remember to play nice and I do take commissions of this nature, if you dare ask.

The problem is classing everyone that disagrees as "haters".

If the moderators disagreed with those that objected to the pieces, they would not have been edited. As they [u]were[u] edited, it follows that with the increased moderator presence that pictures of that type are no longer appropriate on these forums.

By calling another group "haters", you are continuing to make this section hostile to those that do not come here on a regular basis.

I would think that any artist that uses this section (and I realize you are a collector) of the forums would try to keep the section a more welcoming place for newcomers so that they would get [u]more[u] commissions. Less people frequenting this section equals less exposure (pun intended) to those that do not know an artist's work. I know this would be unacceptable to me.

I'm just glad that it appears this drama episode seems to be ending so I can get back to [u]enjoying and creating[u] art.

I was just saying that what this thread needed was some pedantry to cool the heated libidos that had built up.

Well done.

Good thing I didn't read all the posts here, or check out Alex's blog, nor see the 5 sketches there, nor see what Foo had done...

Foo, you know as well as I do that one of the reasons people make art is to have their talents recognized.

How do you get recognized if no one wants to go to this section to see art? Seriously, I could care less either way if the mods allowed NSFW tags in this section. The current mods have made their decision. It might change with the next set of mods. Who knows?

On the other hand, I hate that one section of these collective forums is so snobbish that people don't want "outsiders" to come in and feel welcome. Especially a section that some are using as a springboard to get commissions (ie getting paid for their art).

For the record, Scarfgirl's blatant swipe at the scoop for [u]my[u] opinions notwithstanding: my opinions are my own. Also she missed that I have already perused the pictures (and sites) mentioned in this thread. I find that her baseless accusations are silly.

Might as well throw in Acrogirl In Her Battle Armor Though the small wings are now full demon ones, and her eyes glow red, she also has the vanguard lower mask piece in all black.

Dude, I'm just saying that explaining to people that they're wrong for feeling the way they feel and that they're horribly demonizing everyone else is probably not going to be very successful, especially when your argument is essentially circular. "The GMs can change the rules because they set the rules, so you shouldn't feel slighted," is really just going to make people think you're a sycophant.

I agree with your overall premise, that the GMs set the rules, but I disagree that people shouldn't feel upset when something that has heretofore not been an issue is declared verboten. I also disagree that this section is unfriendly. It's remarkably friendly, yet seems to have some kind of negative reaction when new people come in and create issue and confrontation where none previously exist.

I think Scarfgirl just thinks you're a nosey parker, and isn't afraid to say it, but I don't think you're entirely blameless in her response to you, even if I don't agree with it.

Posted

In other words: I'm not saying I disagree with you overall; you just have a horrible way of trying to convey your point.

This has pretty much been my experience on this particular forum thus far. I wouldn't consider myself a "regular" in this forum since I've mostly been a artzy lurker and only started posting here fairly recently (TA encouraged me to get a DA site, so I figured while I was at it, may as well start posting here as well! ). I must say that the "regulars" have been pretty darn friendly towards me thus far...a good number of regulars from this forum even added me as DA friends right off the bat and welcomed me with open arms.

From what I've been able to gather, the rule of thumb in this forum is pretty much the same as anywhere else (RL or teh intarwebs)..."do unto others as you would have them do unto you." In other words, to be received kindly, all you have to do is respect others' opinions and don't be a jerk.
