So you admit I can read minds! HA!
Then Explain to me why you're picturing Mags i a string bikin... err wait sorry, Syph was thinking about that.
You're just picturing yourself dancing off hand in hand with the carebears into a technicolor sunset on a rianbow singing about how great life is when you're BFFs.

I kind of need an official ruling, is it one week or two weeks?

Posted

Pretty sure its 2. Though Vel has stated they are gone, the new members still did come from another SG.

A new player must wait one week before becoming eligbible to play in an official match per timestamp on the roster update post. A player changing SGs must wait two weeks to become eligible to play in an official match per timestamp on the post. If a player is not on the roster, they are not eligible to play with that group.

[/ QUOTE ]

The way this is worded, it can go either way.

I was always under the impression that the ONLY way to have a person be eligable for the 1 week rule was if they A). Had never pvp'd on test before or B). They had been off of a roster for 2 weeks.

The spirit of this rule was to prevent people from ringing against other SGs (From what I have heard, this was before dUmb entered the ladder). Since, that isn't the case here, I wouldn't see why we should keep people from participating.

I'd say two weeks.

Personally I would love to see the new members play in the official. Its always good to have the extra challenge and I do not really see what harm it would do. Since it is an odd care and their is not an official ruling imo the sg leaders from both sgs should decide what should happen. Plus this rule was set in place to prevent people from switching sgs every week to play in officials. Vel has retired so its not like they are jumping from an sg for no reason. IMO the rules we have set in place now should be more of guidelines an that the two sgs fighting should actually get to decide what they want an do not want. Just my opinion an obviously I do not speak for OS so would have to talk with shocker or strike.

Unfortunately it's not a waivable rule as it stands now. That said, VR petitioned to make this rule waivable when it was discussed at the leader meeting, and would almost certainly support an initiative to change it to be waivable now.

can we petition to make all rules waivable and that rules can be agreed upon by sg leaders when matches are set up... IMO the two sg/vgs thats are fighting should be able to decide what they want.

You mention a leader meeting? Was this just VR leaders or was this pvp sg leaders? If it was pvp sg leaders is there a way i can get the meeting notes?

Posted

Don't know if there was a specific note taker, if this was the meeting I had attended, then again all I heard was can we vote now? majority of the time.

It was SG leaders. I don't think anyone took notes. What was agreed apon is in the first page of the PvP SG ladder post

Agreed on this. The ladder is not big enough to have any set-in-stone type rules, especially one like this where it can either be abused or be completely harmless.

It was all SG leaders. We went through all the rules in the fall and added the ability to waive some rules, Ex posted the update October 18th but I don't remember the meeting date. At PCJL's request we had an all-SG leader meeting not too long ago to discuss adding a rule punishing groups that interfere with other officials (prompted by the raid invite incident).

I've always supported more/all waivable rules.
