IO's for Newbs, Casual Playas, & Cheapskates [I9]
Wow. This is, by far, the best, most useful guide I've read in 3+ years, and that includes guides on nrg/*/nrg and el/*/el blasters.
VERY nicely positioned for those of us with limited playtimes.
Great guide, it was very helpful for slotting my alts.
It'd be awesome if some updated data for EndMod/ToHit/Taunt/DefDebuff/ToHitDebuff sets could be put in.

I was going to mention that as well.
Also, the "slang" term for what you describe is Frankenslotting. You might want to include that in the title on the off chance that someone tries to search on it.
Check out the Repeat Offenders network of SGs! You'll be glad you did.
Thanks for this. I'm going to study this and try some stuff.
This has answered so many questiones! Thanks for the wonderful guide!

There ought to be something in here about how and when Set IOs are disabled if you exemplar underneath their level.
Is the entire enhancement disabled? Is it only the set bonus? This is something that is still not made clear anywhere I've looked, and it's why I don't use Set IOs at all. Seems pretty pointless to me to get all these minor extras if when you exemplar underneath them you're crippled.

Only the bonuses disappear if you go more than -3 below them. If you have 25, 25, 45 IOs, meaning you have the "have 2" and "have 3" set bonuses, and you exemplar to 22, you'll have only the "have 2" set bonus. All enhancement-power will be working though (at normal exemplarness).

Maybe I'll start actually using set IOs then.
Still seems like too much bother, but this guide is a fantastic primer.
Here's a request for a section... what about passives? Healing passives, End recovery passives (Regen, Willpower, Fitness), Defense and Resistance passives, etc.

Okay, I never would have sat down to figure all this out on my own, but I've been following this guide, verbatim in some cases, and the difference is very (surprisingly) noticeable. Awesome work, thanks tons.

Thank you very much for this excellent guide. Having just come back to the game after not playing since I6, the IO thing kinda confused me, I'm much less confused now.
This most excellent thread could use an update for the new sets.
Great guide! Thanks to Fulmens for providing a link!
Wow! This is the first guide to IO that I've read that caters to noobs like me. It's amazign and I thank you very much for putting it together!
If I could make a request, it would be to see something for my War Mace Brute. His attacks are slotted with 2x Acc and 2x End right now and I'd love to see some examples of 4 slots that can get more damage and/or STUN in there. :-]
Thanks again!
I thought I lost this guide. It's an awsome guide! It's nice to use it again. Thanks!
It's timeless information!
