I laughed my [censored] off at this comment:

As for deciding what goes into the game, I usually consult a magical sea shell I keep under my desk. The sea shell tells me to do good things, but sometimes it tells me to do bad, very bad. It takes about 15 beers before that sea shell starts to talk.

[/ QUOTE ]
But the real question is, does he know how to use the three sea shells?

So whichever player sneaks into Jay's office and installs a radio transmitter into the sea shell so that they are able to whisper directly into Jay's ear will have direct control over future CoH/V costume pieces?

Hmm, interesting...

Ditto on long skirts. I even would have been happy with, and have suggested, long "loincloth" type skirts, ala Mystique and Alex Ross's version of Wonder Woman in Kingdom Come. It seems to me this would basically be a straight/thin version of the trenchcoat put both in back and front. I mean, trenchs clip pretty badly now, how much worse could they be if made thinner and placed in front as well.

And I also wonder, how would a long skirt be any different than a long robe? CoT have had long robes since day one, and they don't clip. I'm sure there is a good explanation -- I'm just making an observation.

[/ QUOTE ]

as jay mentioned, the NPC costumes were never designed to work on players. player parts have different considerations since each part moves independently of each other while NPCs costumes are animated together as a whole.

[/ QUOTE ]

The CoT never run at supersonic speeds or sit down. Do any NPCs sit down?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yeah, you can usually find Hellions, Skulls and Tsoo sitting. Tsoo are another one that have long robes too

[/ QUOTE ]

But do Tsoo in robes ever sit? I usually only see the pant-wearing Tsoo sitting.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm pretty sure there are long-robed bosses that sit, tho I won't swear to it at the moment.

(...) there was this one night that I was ready to go home but had to drop the browns off at the super bowl before I left for home. While on the throne it hit me. I stayed for a few more hours and that why we have the pain pads in the game.

A chef costume set, an evil clown costume set

[/ QUOTE ]

Hey! I've suggested both of those! So when you say three of the 4 new costume sets for I10 are from player suggestions, are these included? Or are these not in yet but you're working on them now, so we can see them in I11?

Please?

I'll buy you a cookie...

Love the costumes on the vanguard shield, especially that lady wearing the white and purple. PLEASE tell me we're getting her chest detail/shoulderpiece/whatever that thing is!

And it sounds encouraging that we'll be getting new costume bits- hopefully some will NOT be inventions or vet rewards.

Certainly puts the pain pads in a new light... ew.

Sorry to hear that about the long skirts. This has been one of the costume pieces I've wanted for a while, but I had a feeling that there were problems or we'd have already seen them.

[/ QUOTE ]

This here is the thing that had me wondering about "other" games that have long skirts and dresses. Other games have added them but they all clip and look extremely bad under animation. I'd rather have the quality coh provides rather than have a costume item that only looks good while you're standing around idle. again, thats says more about "other games" and standing around idle...

Actually I'm of the other opinion. While I do like free items, I'd rather see more costume items as invention drops. The vast majority of drops concern set items of which I have little interest. The costume drops right now are very few and thats why they are so doggone valuable.

Okay, a chef hat is something I want terribly as I recently made a chef-hero (claws scrapper: slice, dice, ever so nice).

Nice to know that I10 will have new costume pieces though. I was disappointed that I9 only had the recipe costumes (and even that's only wings and boots). Here's hoping for jetpacks, backpacks, steampunk-based pieces (piston gloves? backpacks with animated smokestacks?), and the like.

His interview was great, loved the pain pads bit, can't wait to see what Issue 10 has in store for us, costume-wise.
