Or any one else confusing it for that matter... Truly an interesting Mechanics question. Similar Multifaction PvP situations result in the confused foe seeing random people as enemies and allies, but PvE... interesting. Just Interesting. I wonder if you can grief with this by igniting confused patches in popular areas

hehe there was a thread about this in the closed section. he posted at one point saying "you guys know this is a bug right?" and somewhat suspiciously it disappeared 4minutes later.
So, I can kinda picture him turning to Castle and saying "it IS a bug, isn't it?" and Castle saying "well technically no, it's just the only way I could get the power to work right"
PS- sorry if I wasn't supposed to mention that Castle and BAB. you know I love you guys, it's just worth a little chuckle.

I had to add the last line of my sig because of this. Luckily I have a lvl 44 Ice/Dark Corr on Triumph so at least I can do that part.
My favorite quote from that night came when BAB tried to help us speed things along by rezzing us himself. Only to be immediatly killed again by the Mitos.

Yes! I love doing that trick with my trick archer. And oh my god is that too hilarious about BAB, a new sig finally!
I rarely get a Dark Miasma on the same team as my trick archer, but, I do often have a kinetics, and when we need a heal sometimes I drop a oil slick for the heck of it! Granted, thats more with my Mastermind than anything because the Pet AI is still going wonky.........

Is it what we intended the power to be used for? Not even close...but it's a great idea.
Well, since crude oil is made of dead dinosaurs and other assorted animals, can we keep it?

I doubt it.
The Situation: We're attempting a New Hamidon raid on the closed I9 Beta test server in the Hive. The developer who designed New Hamidon has taken the NPC persona of Back Alley Brawler and is eagerly watching our progress. It's his job to make this challenging but not impossible and so he sometimes drops hints when we're going down dead ends or shows off a power or two.
The Trick: Part of experimenting with the New Hami means large scale wipes of teams. With only 50 players, the number of single target rezzes is small, and many of the rezzers themselves are 'dead.' So, we teleport the dead behind a rock and rez as fast as we can. I, the Dark Defender have a group rez power (Howling Twilight) that unfortunately needs to target a foe to work. But the only foes around are nasty mitos and Hami. And so, the Trick Archer Defender offers her Oil Slick. That's right, Oil Slick cons as an enemy so that it can be targeted with a fire power to 'light' it so it does AoE damage. And so, we have large scale group rezzing happening. Everyone's catching on to the tactic, except BaB who must have been busy taking notes, until....
The Payoff: This one time we have all our dead teleported behind a rock and we're licking our wounds. BaB is hovering over Hami, just being a ball of excitement when he notices an exchange that goes something like this...

Trick Archer: Ready?
Me: Cast the Oil Slick behind me, easier to target.
Back Alley Brawler: Oil Slick! WTH?
Just imagine a developer hearing the call for Oil Slick at a Hami Raid.
If anyone has the log or a screenie of this, I'd appreciate getting the exact dialogue of this soon to be forum legend.
After this, it became a closed beta joke leading to such ideas as....
Overheard chat in the future:
"Was there a raid tonight?"
"No, we had a Dark Defender, but no Trick Archer showed up."
Or...
Team Leader: "We need a tank and a healer."
Dark Miasmist: "Find a Trick Archer, and I'll do both roles!"
Or..
Instead of missions being held up because a Tank is looking for a healer, they'll be held up by Dark Defenders looking for a Trick Archer.
Level up your Trick Archers to 50 now. The raid on Live will need your help!
