Got shows all weekend — Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and a matinee on Sunday. I think I can squeeze in some time Sunday after the show, though.

It's not there??

Here's Hertz's youtube profile

It's showing as being there, but it's not (yet) available when you click on it.

It is there, now... and funny as usual.

How many retconning jokes can you find?

Truely awesome. Stan & Lou's powerlist was great.

I agree entirely. This is the first one to which I've ever laughed out loud twice... at work.

At what, if I may ask?

I do these to make myself laugh, and I'm never sure if other people really get my sense of humor.

If you really want me to do so, I shall dissect the nature of the jokes at which I laughed.

I don't ever want to hear you say that again.

This is funny on many levels, but I think, from a technical level, the part that got me the most was the surprise of who was saying it. Stan is so very submissive to Lou that it surprised me that the mitochlorion (sp?) statement was so offensive as to give Stan the strength to tell Lou to stop talking. At that moment I thought "Wow, Hertz must be supressing a LOT of anger."

Orly? Yarly!

This one is easier to explain: I have strong feelings of passion towards "hard to catch" jokes that go unexplained and unacknowledged. The best are the kinds that are "in the background" (meaning that they get as little attention as possible and have no relevence to the plot).

The best example of "background humor" (my term. Use it. Spread it.) is in Sealab 2021's Season 2 Episode, "Brainswitch". The entire cast is huddled around a comatose patient, trying to make sense of a bomb that just exploded. One of the characters says "The bomb wasn't at precise equilibrium." Surprised at the analysis, the entire cast speaks at once.

The statements are: "How did you know that?" "Sounds like a Quinn word." "What are you talking about" and [u]"That means horses."[u]

The line is completely ignored, and you kind of have to repeat it back to yourself a couple times before you realize what just happened. That's background humor, and you did it perfectly in this episode with 3l33t Haxxorx's "Orly? Yarly." exchanges.

There's the long ramble. Hope it's constructive.

Thanks for trying to put it into words. I know humor is hard to quantify.

I chose to use 3l33t Haxx0r for this scene because he is exactly the kind of obsessively nerdy person to engage in an argument over storyline retcons, but also because he's weak enough that Stan could argue with him. You're right: Stan could not sustain an argument with Lou about trivialities for as long as he argues with 3l33t. Not only would it be contrary to his character, but it would stop being funny very quickly.

OK, Genetically engineered viral mutation? White/Black Nictus shards? Wedding Ring?

Goodness, the only thing I caught there was Klingons, and Wonder Woman. Little help?

The Abrams is one of the most effective war machines on the planet. - R. Lee Ermy.

Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?

A: You crash into another one.

Isnt wedding ring that ring that gives you a blue flame when you use it or something?

In game yeah, but the way it was used in the clip I think there's an out of game reference I'm missing somewhere.

Think "Green Lantern."

And I assume you caught "Hans shot first."

God man, this is keeping me in stitches! Keep this up, it's Great!

You've now got me saying "rawful" out loud to people, and in the Freakshow voice too. As if they didn't look at me funny enough already.

Awesome. Pure awesome.

...Now, if I were writing this (Thank Larry I'm not, it wouldn't be nearly as awesome) I'd now know exacly what the Guy in the Hat sounds like.

Stan and Lou on Striga Isle

Next up: Croatoa.

More dedicated to clever word play and allusion than most of your recent work, I'm very much in love with it. I thought the entire thing was going to be an homage to Monty Python, but Lou caught on too quickly.

Also, the Sesame Street reference was fantastic.

This episode did two things that I really liked: 1) Gave Lou MUCH more air time than Stan, which I've been wanting for a while. 2) Really strove (is that a word?) to illustrate the dominate/ submissive relationship between Stan and Lou.

You stated a while ago that this project was based off of Vaudeville acts of old. That's illustrated well in this sketch that could, conceivably, be done with three people on a prop-less set with no blocking.

Short version: Nicely done.

Glad you liked it! But you know, Sesame Street wasn't the only reference.
