Archery Animation Bugs
My wife has problems with the Ranged shot issue. It happens when targeting drone is on. Causes the draw animation to happen 2x, there by slowing the attack and wasting some of her Aim.
Welcome to City of Bugs. The devs would fix them but uh, they have been watching the numbers on your AT and you are doing ok in PvP without the fixes. SO they are just gonna keep adding new features instead.
I didn't even THINK about Targeting Drone being on. Yeah, I'm running it and Hover at the same time and usually throwing out Caltrops before I use Ranged Shot.
What you're saying is pretty distressing to me. The cool bow animations are the main reason I decided to play an Archery Blaster. I don't like it when they go all screwy and look random.

Actually, they do check things just besides how you're doing in PvP. Also, the do make bug fixes and don't just keep adding things. Sure, they don't get them all, but they do fix things.

My comment was aimed at a specific incident which happened a long time ago, yet still to this day the bug exists.
Many bugs have been in this game a long long long time. Look at the arena for god sakes (show stopping bugs from I4 to I8 with no end in sight). Its long overdue for the devs to actually make a real effort at a bug fixing crusade, and not just a little head fake where they fix one or two out of the hundreds that exist.
This archery bug has been around since before I8, didnt see any fix for it then. Saw a lot of attention to new features being added.
I really do not think I am alone here when i say I'd love to hear the devs say, "We are going to devote the next issue to fixing bugs while adding a small amount of content". Instead it's always been fix a couple of bugs as a token, then cram in 100 new features and 100 new bugs and 100 other bugs that arise from the existing bugs and their interaction with the new features.
Many people are having serious serious issues with some of these bugs. All it takes is for someone to start competing more directly with this game and all of a sudden Cryptic will realize the err of their ways. But then it will be too late.
Nuts! I didn't think about the amount of time that's going to knock off of Aim either. Grrrr... >

Since I8 went live all the archery shots I have seen seem to shoot the arrows from half way behind the character. The normal draw animation plays but the arrows fire from behind the character, i.e. the back half of the arrow is sticking out of the character and then it goes forward.
Has this been fixed?

It would be catastrophic for them to also not add any new content in a large period of time just to fix bugs. It is a money making scheme, and they have to do what will keep them alive.

I really hope that bug is fixed. I managed to reproduce it 100% of the time and reported it months on end ago both as a PM and ingame /bug.
FYI to reproduce it move in the air while your bow isn't drawn and keep moving while you use a power to draw it such as an attack. You will use the old ;bow bug emote instead of the traditional weapon draw animation, the problem is this ;bow emote is a far longer animation then weapon draw.
On a completely unrelated note, that hibernate breakout animation still occurs completely randomly.

This has been going on since Archery/Trick Arrow was released.
From my vantage point it looks to me as if my hero is firing the arrows like any other archer would. But, that doesn't mean its not showing up differently to everyone else.

it happens to my mind/ta troller in pvp
its gotten me killed i dont know how many times
its ridiculous
so its not JUST targetting drone
tho i WAS flying while doing it

I tried this on Test using Hover and Targeting Drone. Using the Ranged Shot, there is no interrupt animation. Seems to be fixed for me; works better on Test than currently on Live.
Castle thanks for the response. I take back 1/2 of those jabs I have made at you on the placate bug over the last week.

Are there any known animation bugs with archery/devices heroes?
My hero does strange things from time while hovering and after throwing caltrops, like holding her bow over her head with her left hand before firing an arrow. Or doing some strange draw, lower, draw again and fire sequence using ranged shot.
Are these supposed to be part of the animation or are they bugs? It REALLY slows down my attack rate.
