Winter in Paragon (Winter Event Dec 14 - Jan 2)
I'm annoyed by the presents.
I've had two characters open the 200 presents necessary to get the Toy Collector badge--and neither one of them EVER got the Jingle Jetpack or Stocking Cap. Near as I can tell, all the mystery gifts they ever found were just Influence/Prestige.
That's really ticking me off.
Something just occurred to me.
Wasn't a Santa hat given out for the save or ruin Xmas mission last year?
Is it the same hat? If so, that would explain why some of my characters didn't get it, as I did that mission on as many as I could at the time...

It has a different name so I think you can get both versions on a character. I'll have to log on to test and check my character that has one there and see.

Can you please make it so there is a lvl limit for each area's presents? I'm getting sick of being out ran by 50's taking all our low lvl presents.

At least on the hero side, there's enough zones with enough presents that you can simply change your path, or find a similar level zone to run in for a while.
I was working on my badges in FF last night, circling around the borders clockwise, and I'd run across someone else who was opening presents. I'd go counter-clockwise for a while, or switch to an inside orbit for a while. There were enough around that it was easy to find my own presents.

Low lvls with no travel powers shouldn't have to move to another zone when their in the zone they belong in. If I'm on my 50s or anyone I go to the zone thats my lvl. For more then one reason.
*1:I get xp
*2:I'm not out running low lvls (if people lvl 14+ dont have travel power thats their fault)
*3:Because I know its wrong to do.
Do you know how many times my new characters had a higher lvl follow him so they can out run me to presents? It became really really bad to the point I had to log out for a while to lose them. Another thing is why would lvl 50s go to a lvl 1-20 zone when they can just as much go to any other zone thats about 5 lvls under them? Kind of bad when thats the truth.

Well, as far as I can tell, the number of presents per zone is the same for all zones, which means that with larger zones, those presents are spaced out considerably wider. In a smaller zone like Galaxy City, you don't have to travel as far to get a present. And if you're having to do 200 presents, you want them to be as close to each other as possible so you can get them the heck over with faster.

If they were really following you, petition. If they are following you, and making it so you can't get any gifts, that is griefing, plain and simple.

I'm sorry you had a bad experience with that. In my case, I was playing a 50, and I was in Founder's for something else. Instead of zoning, I just started hunting presents there. That said, I was very aware of other people getting presents around me. The few times I did run into someone (it was kinda late at night to begin with), instead of racing ahead of them, [u]I[u] took an alternate path so they wouldn't have to.
The point of my post is that there are plenty of presents to go around. I see nothing wrong with going to a lower level zone to get presents, as long as you give the "right of way" to any zone level-appropriate characters.

I have opened 100 presents so far and I have only gotten a snowball ... no hat, no jingle pack. I really want the hat but I have no idea how the heck to obtain one. It's really disappointing. At least with the Father Time missions, I could keep doing the quests and felt a little in control. Opening gifts to find a hat that should be given to everyone is bad.
150 presents opened, only have one snowball power. is this how it's supposed to work? How do I get a winter lord or the hat or jingle pack?
I got the snowball, snowbeast and the hat relatively quickly just by opening presents. I was under the impression that you would be awarded another holiday cheer which you would have to give away, but instead you get a mystery gift (like what you get when someone gives you their holiday cheer) and you open it for a surprise.
what city were you in? I've been in founders and have opened 175 gifts and no santa hat or jingle pack.
I was just hopping around Atlas and Galaxy (less people in Galaxy). But you can farm for it too, by having a friend make new characters and give you the holiday cheer power. I got the hat and jetpack in only 4 tries on one character that way. My friend got the hat and snowball in an additional 10 tries.
I'm also getting really frustrated at the lack of finding the good stuff in the presents. I searched for hours on end with my tanker trying to get a Santa Hat, and let's just say I wasn't very far from the Toy Collector badge when I finally did get it. But on the other end of the spectrum, my lv40 scrapper(also my main badge'r)got the Snowball temp, Snowbeast temp, Santa Hat, and Jingle Jet all within 20-30 minutes of logging on. Go figure.
The whole randomness of it is just wacked out. Plus the 10% chance of getting the good stuff is just way too low. I understand the Devs want them to be rare, but damn, didn't they learn not to make stuff too rare back when the Halloween event first hit Test? And man, some kind of streak breaker with all the Naughty presents would've been great. Like after getting so many Naughty's in a row it's forced to give you a Nice one.
I'm sure once the Winter Event is over, there will be lots of people out there that never got the Santa Hat or Jingle Jet or both. And I don't think I could blame them for being pissed off about it.
Well, since the Jingle jet is going to be gone by Feb 2 at the latest, I dont see that as a problem. But since the Santa hat is a persistent costume piece, it should be easier to get.
Oh, I know. Another toon I did a little hunting with (but no way for the badge!) got the jingle jet and snowball in about 20 tries. As for the friend suggestion... well... I don't really have any friends on right now as I tend to alt myself out of that as well as playing during the late hours. And the only SG I've ever joined is currently on hiatus. :P
Basically - I know it's not impossible to get around, but they sure didn't make it easy for my position. The hat probably wouldn't have fit anyway, heh.
