Winter in Paragon (Winter Event Dec 14 - Jan 2)

The only bummer in this whole thing is that you cant wear the Santa hat and the earmuffs at the same time. 
I noticed something odd. Winter Horde and Snaptooth give tech salvage. Mostly EChips. Why are their salvageable EChips in the snowmen? Is this a Camp Wannaweep inside joke, or a bug?
Other than the crashes that seem to be related to everybody and his dog being in the same spot at the same time, my only minor criticisms are that I think the Ear Muffs should have shown up under both plausible spots, both as ears and as detail 1, and that the disappearing and re-appearing cave map is actually even more annoying than the first test version where we only got the above-ground map. At least then I could still see my team-mates on the map.
Otherwise, woohoo!

I assume the "very recognizable hat" can only be obtained from people giving gifts to you and not fromt he presents itself?
Also.. Ah, the "sack ful of inf" is pretty amusing when it's a static 250 inf no matter the level of the character. Any character above level 5 or so, can easily gain more than this by arresting/defeating a single enemy.
Other than that, the entire zone/missions is a lot of fun, thanks. Just with I could get the Santa's hat on my main without having to try to team up with soemone who's willing to make oodles of alt's just in hopes that one of thm -might- grant the hat since I missed it last year.
It seems a pretty decent event so far EXCEPT for the fact that you have to do the mission 2 times for every single character if you want both costume pieces (never mind badges). When you have 30+ alts at lvl 30+ who might want the costume pieces, that gets old really fast.
It's fine for the badges, but would it be possible to make things like *costume* unlocks ACCOUNT WIDE? Please.

Once my wife gets off the phone, we're going to go buy me some socks. If phase 2 hit early enough and included socks, I would have an extra 2 hours to play this week-end.
No, it doesn't take me 2 hours to buy socks, but there is a 40 minute round trip plus 2 minutes to get out of the car, get to the socks, get back to the register and pay, plus the 78 minutes my wife needs to get just a couple of things and spend another $280.

I do believe though rare you can find a Santa Hat by opening presents, but it is a rare find.
you can also farm it in Atlas. get a buddy, have one of you keep making new alts, skip the tutorial and immediately give your gift. in 4 attempts I got the hat and the jetpack last night. when it was my friends turn, it took 10 times or so before he got snowball and the hat.

Great event! I love the mission, the snow effects, and the ski resort where Father Time is located. It's great fun skiing and skating on the slope and ice.
That being said, the Baby New Year in the mission is one freakin ugly baby! Did they just put an adult head on a Rikti monkey? Must be an experiment gone awry from the Lost.

It's coming. Phase 2 of the event has presents all over the city. When opened, sometimes they say "Nice" and give a present, other times, they say "Naughty" and spawn Snowbeasts. If you are on a team of 5 or more, this sometimes includes the Winter Lord Giant Monster. Defeating him grants the Frozen Fury badge.

I got snowballs in the first winter event way back but haven't this time - is a present the only way...?
also does anyone have any idea if our two temp powers (the gifts) expire if we don't use them by the end, or will be saved..)

It's a random gift. I've heard that it'll also be randomly awarded for opening presents when phase 2 goes live.

The santa hat is in the hat category. It is the first one on the list and is called the stocking hat. It is confusing because there is another one further down the list also called stocking hat but it is a different hat.
Yes I realize its on the hat category, It just doesnt come up on this toon.
Thats why I asked if mine was just a random bug
Can you please make it so there is a lvl limit for each area's presents? I'm getting sick of being out ran by 50's taking all our low lvl presents.

Wanted to weigh in my gushing opinion of this event. Maybe after this I should change my name and go into hiding. :P
I love the mish map itself, it's look and atmosphere - it's so wonderfully winter-creepified that I've even resorted to using one of my stalkers to run around in stealth-mode to shoot skads of screen shots... I'm such a fanboy. :P Plus who can resist spending a little time ice skating everytime they go through it? Only a total Scrooge, that's who.
The mish itself is decently sized without being too small or dull (at least I feel so, and I've been through it like 75 times now for all my many, many alts). With more than one group to fight, it avoids the "oh look, more CoT around THIS corner too, what a surprise..." trap that larger missions usually fall into.
The Pocket D ski slope is a heck of a lot of fun since serves no purpose whatsoever (see the Scrooge mention above) and the yodeling makes me grin everytime because it reminds me of the Sven Hoek episode of Ren&Stimpy.
No doubt by the time Christmas is over I'll be sick to death of it - which is just as it should be - but in the meantime it's a nice break from the routine. I guess you could say I'm enjoying the box more than the present. =D
It seems that sometimes you don't get a present when the cheers are exchanged with a friend.
