A Bad Feeling

15 maddening hours latter, and Noisemaze's most dangerous predicament is complete! This one has to be my most saturated and paint laden watercolor to date... and for a few tense hours there, i thought I had completely botched the work up... but i managed to pull it back from the brink (which is a very very good thing as I did not relish the prospect of starting over )

Either way, here for your viewing pleasure is...

A Bad Feeling

Nice! I particularly like the eyes on the Hellion, so driven.

Nice. That hero almost feels like the question who is one of my favorites.

Amazing as always. I love the colors in this one, and the Hellion actually looks dangerous. You've even managed to capture more then enough personality in the pose of the main figure to get a real feel for the character even behind a full face helmet, which is probably the most impressive thing in the entire piece.

I'd actually like to see more of your stuff follow this one in how much color you lay down. As awesome as your other stuff is I've always wondered what they'd look like if the color was stronger, and now I think I actually have an idea.

I think you could OFFICIALLY call me a "Graver Fanboy", now...

I need to save some dough up for a commission, Graver...

Wow, thanks all! I'm glad it turned out decant and to everybody's liking. It went through several stages where it had me terribly worried . Since the more saturated colors (which is the result of just more layers of paint and thicker applications of colored pencil) turned out so well, they will be sticking around. I always try to take what worked from the previous piece and push it a bit further in the next piece, although, unfortunately, that means (if all other pieces before this are any indication) each piece will be taking me more and more time to complete (why God, why?!) I gotta find a way to keep what I got and cut down on production time... somehow...

The hellions were part of the fun of this piece. It's really kind of sad that they are such jokes in game (mostly because they is just low level crunchies) because, story wise, they have such great potential. I mean, they are a viscous and violent gang of murdering psychopaths who are more a satanic cult then a street gang fallowing the dogmatic edicts handed down to them from of a couple of mysterious leaders to spread as much pain and corruption as they can. There is just so much untapped nasty potential to the Hellions... never mind the fact that I just love the choppers (come on, psycho ax murders!) and the raw gritty nature of the street gangs (I do wish they lasted for more levels beyond the freaks)

And Bradders, you are more the welcome! It was totally my pleasure working on Noisemaze... he offered me a lot of opportunities that I hadn't had before

Up next is gonna be two kitties for Katfood

It turned out "decent"ly huh? Decent... I do believe we have different definitions of the word, because this one isn't "decent," it's freaking amazing! *bonk*

I do agree with your sentiments about the Hellions. When I read their villain group profile one day, I was amazed at how grizzly it was. Very cool concept, it's a pity all games have to have their "noob mobs." (Oh btw, you brought out their crazed nature very well; I dig the front hellion's eyes!)

[edit: After looking at it for the ump-teenth time, I recognized a Damned's mask shape and faintly glowing eyes in the background. Sweeet!]
