Sorry starry you let a 8 year old pic the matches and you'll likely end up with Starchasm getting Star

On the plus side its a great card with lots of room for interpretation

I don't think we will end up with too much overlap as im guessing most folks will end up drawing their mainb or friends

Im still trying to figure out what i'll use as the Dog in "The Fool"

I kind of like the idea of Radey as the Star. Outwardly she would appear to be its antithesis but it actually matches her inside pretty well.

She will NOT be kneeling nekkid on a river bank, however XD I think I have an interesting way to urbanize the Star.

I'll bow to your superior knowledge in this field imagesbyalex , any Suggestions ?

[/ QUOTE ]

I have no knowledge in this field, I do like big tarot cards, um

3.75"x 5.5" ?

I just did a search for tarot cards and that seems like a nice size.

Another question would be will there be some sort of border for each card? With so many different styles a common border would tie them all together.

The Vertigo Tarot Cards are 3"x 5.5". They do a a common and very simple border and font for the name.

Those are just some suggestions, but you get to make the final decision!

I was thinking that we should all do our pictures in a somewhat uniform size, Scarf Girl gets the final say here, as well as just doing the image. I think once we submit our images then Scarfy should put the border and text on so everything comes out nice and uniform. It would be nice to have the deck printed out as real cards to use. I guess we'd have to talk with NC Soft for that though.

Sounds like a good size for cards...not that mine won't be bigger than that (Heck no I'm not illustrating anything that small with that much detail), but I'll set the ratio to adjust down to that once it's scanned in.

..as for borders, I'd second the vote to let Scarf_Girl pick them at the end....or just go for a black border all around.

Posted

Ditto. We get the pic done. Scraf_Girl pick the borders.
And I will draw Sister Psyche as the Empress.

*looks above* Im going to go with Alexs suggestion for boarders and sizes

3.75 x 5.5?

or

3.0 x 5.5?

Posted

Of course you could instead of agreeing on size agree on aspect ratio and then work at whatever size make you comfortable and reduce the image to that final size--we have computers, this isn't a problem--really.

Posted

Don't forget, once you figure out the final size, the actual image will be smaller then the card to account for border and title.

What I usually do is whatever the final size is, I double or triple it and work at that size, and then shrink it when I'm done.

Posted

I always work large and then reduce for the final product. I like my details. I can't help it.

Posted

hey hey all

Here my Tarot card the Hanged Man I still have the larger version so I can crop it to what ever size is needed, once the border is decided, or I can send you the big version and you can crop.

Wow! That is some nice, quick work, CB.

Mine's still in the sketch stage. I'm having trouble with one of the elements in it. I should be finished soon, though.

Something I need to ask <@_@>;

Do we *have* to use the same pose as is in our card? Or are we (as I thought) just sticking to the "theme" of the card?

well...looking at the many different poses of mine that have been made over the years, I'm guessing like all the rest, theme wins. I mean...some poses just don't apply to this genre

However, I easily see a villain hanging CB upside down

Cool <,< Cause I really like the pose I came up with for my card <@_@> But the pose doesn't look a thing like the card <,<!

(It does however reflect its theme!)
