((I thought I'd poke in and say that sometimes it seems like H'taed is maybe a bit TOO powerful, at least for normal people. I mean, regular villains have a chance at beating AVs, but sometimes it seems like H'taed has a way out of everything.
As for Alex, she seems to be sort of out of the picture for the moment, and seeing as the horizon is clearing a bit for me, I might have to make a second character and jump back in :P))

(Shrugs) I'll tone H'taed down a little then. But I have no control over how others react to him. Remember my mud bombs? I never specified how powerful they were. Nether's first post said...
"With enough force to level a building."
That's her own view of my attack. I'm not TRYING to make it that powerful. It is possible to escape or be prepared for any situation, and H'taed knows this.
But sill, I'll tone him down. Matter of fact, I have a good start for his semi-weakening right now, matter of fact. Just need to wait for Nether to post.
((Sorry it took so long guys, got busy with some friends))
Nether looked up in time to see H'taed's overhead smash, and luckily block it. The blow knocked the device out of her hands and flying into the distance.
"Great!"
In the midst of the mid-air fight, she tried to manuever her legs towards H'taed. Using on of his punches as leverage, she turned over and pushed off his chest with her legs, launching herself in the direction the device flew.

As Nether pushed of H'taed...
He flew back and smashed into a nearby piller of rock that had hung down from the island above. It knocked the air right out of him, effectively stunning him.
".....Ow....."
The stunned H'taed began to fall again, only this time, he had no control over his electrical body seeking ground. It only kept speeding up.
-----
Nether was surprised to see H'taed swoosh past her, and eventually vanish into the distance of the never-ending sky paradox.
((I kinda already see what the weakness is. Since Aoleleb closed his viewing portal before that happened though, he doesn't know about it.))
"Life is hard; it's harder if you're stupid." - John Wayne
"Aoleleb, we have a lock on the device. Nether Mistress lost it in the midst of her battle with Lord H'taed."
"Excellent! Thanks Krystell."
Aoleleb opened a portal back into the Shadow Shard, on the Island that Nether and H'taed fell off of. He could barely see the glint of the device falling into oblivion.
Focusing on its trajectory, Aoleleb opened a portal directly below the device into his pocket. He smiled with satisfaction as it plopped right into the portal. He closed it and opened one next to him to Peregrine Island.
He stepped out of the portal slightly south of the main Island. There was a large statue in front of him. Reaching into his Pocket, he pulled out the device.
"Yes! I got it! Krystell, can you teleport me to GoPC HQ?
"Um, actually, I can't. One of our other operatives was being teleported back here when a blast of dark energy was thrown in after him. It fried the system totally. You're gonna have to wait a while until we can get it up and running again."
Aoleleb swore explosively. He had almost been killed three times today and now he that he finally had the device, the system was down. He flew to the top of the statue and settled into a meditative position. It was gonna be a while before the system was back up.
((Just to clarify, GoPC HQ has blocked their dimension from being teleported to by anything but remotely opened portals, just to prevent any of their enemies from teleporting there.))

((I know where I end up seems very coincidental, but I couldn't think of a way get both Garret and Alex back in the story. My bad.))
Garret's vision cleared as he and Alex emerged from the teleporter as it launched them into reality again. It released them close to solid ground, and he skid to a halt. He set Alex down as he looked around, and he saw they were on a rooftop. * Veru, if this building weren't here, I would have to kill you. * * Oh hey, man. good to know you didn't die. We din't know where you'd end up. It looks like somewhere in eastern Paragon. Like on an island or something. *
Garret studied the layout of the area, and saw the familiar docks, the ferry, and off in the distance he noticed the famous Portal Corp. building. He winced as a sharp pain reminded him of his ribs. He tore a piece of his khakis to make a bandage, and wrapped up his bleeding arm from the fight with the spiders. * Any news on whatever that package was? * * I sorta managed to get a trace on it, but it jumped around a lot when it swapped dimensions on me. All I got is it's somewhere south of the island, sorta high up. I don't think it's on Peregrine itself... * Great thought Garret. He sat for a moment, gathering his mind and healing some of the damage from his previous fight. Feeling more prepared, he stood and grabbed a nearby piece of scrap metal. He formed his will around it, making it identical to the bo he had lost in Grandville. He retracted it, and slid it in the loop on his belt. Garret rolled his neck around, popping it and looked to the south.
((Um, Garret, I'm on the other Island SOUTH of PI, where Crimson is.))

"Hmmm... this is a predicament. I'm drifting in space, the device is gone, that brute has been knocked out cold, the Storm Palace exploded, there's a rogue portal where it used to be, and on top of everything, my pants are ripped. Seems like a pretty productive day."
Below her she could see H'taed falling rapidly. Remembering he still had his beacon on him, she made her body as sleek as possibly to speed up her fall and aim herself at his body. After a couple minutes she finally caught up. Searching his body, she found the beacon.
"Sorry big guy, but you messed with the wrong girl. Here goes nothing."
With that she activated the beacon, praying it didn't drop her in the middle of a villain infested hole.

Whicxh, unfortunatly for Nether, it did.
She warpped into the Grandville tower portal room. There werte Bane Spider executioners, Arbiter Drones, Mu gaurdians, Fortunata Seers, Turantula Queens, and Crab Spiders.
All of them turned to look at her.
Silence filled the normally noisy room. You could have heard a mouse fart if you had been listening hard enough.
((lmao, mouse fart))

Crap Thinking quickly...
"Damn that hero, I was this close." She does a motion showing a very small space.
"Stupid 'Destine Ones,'" an Arbiter says.
They went back to doing what they were doing. Making her way to the door as villainishly as she could, Nether exited the tower. Quietly making a shadow door she stepped through back to Paragon City, Steel Canyon to be exact.
"Ahh, it's nice to be back."
Her portal deposited her on a skyscrapper roof. And once again she sits herself down and begins scrying for the device.
"Peregrine Island is it? We can do that."
With that, she opened another doorway to PI, ending in the middle of Portal Corp Plaza.

Ah to hell with it, you probably still had obsidian shield up.

H'taed eventually came back to his senses. He was still falling, and his beacon was gone.
"Ok. Let's see..."
H'taed started to weave a dimensional portal spell. Since portals were not his specialty, this could take hours, even days, to finish, but he had plenty of time.
Aoleleb came out of his meditation with a jolt. He had sensed Nether Mistress coming out of a portal at Portal Corp.
"You must want to die." he growled into the air.
He waited for her to come. If she wanted to fight, he was willing to oblige.
"Life is hard; it's harder if you're stupid." - John Wayne
((Sorry Diov, but I didn't want to try and deal with fighting a room full of Arachnos, and I totally forgot about the fortunas. But aren't they able to see into the future, not read minds? They just have psionic attacks ingame cause it's the closest they could get.))
"I saw the statue at the southern end of the island, so that must be where it's at."
Nether began heading south towards the statue. As she got closer to the docks, the statue came into view. She noticed Aoleleb atop it, though she didn't feel like getting into another fight, knew she had to get the device back.
Getting out of sight of the statue, she conjured a shadow cloak about herself and headed back around the corner towards the statue.

As H'taed fell and weaved his spell, he suddenly noticed something.
There were islands BELOW him.
"Huh?" he said.
He smacked into the ground at well over the speed of sound.
".....Pain....."
Fortunately, he was able to drain the endurance out of nearby vegetation and regain enough energy to recover. Then he noticed something.
The remains of the Storm Palace were floating in this distance.
"Aha! So the sky ISN'T never-ending! It loops back onto its self from the top to the bottom! This makes things MUCH easier..."
Spotting a group of brutes shouting, "Rularuu, Rularuu!" in the distance, he charged toward them, fists blazing with electricity.
-----
Several bloody minutes later, H'taed had ripped the crystal faces out of the brutes' heads, and arrayed them in a circle. Using the mystic energies within, he considerable shortened the time it took him to weave the portal.
He spotted Nether at the base of the statue just before she cloaked herself and vanished. He panned the portal upwards a little, and saw Aoleleb atop the statue.
Deciding to jump in after they had beaten each other to a pulp, Lord H'taed watched and waited.
Aoleleb watched Nether come into the view of the statue, then watched her move away.
Oh please! He wasn't that gullible. Bending the air around him, he turned invisible. He flew back from the statue about 20 yards, waiting for Nether to come to the top.

((No, he saw you back off. If you were going to attack, you would've charged, so he assumes you are doing something more "subtle". And I've explained before he can bend the air arround him to refract the light so it doesn't hit him. Air is considered one of the elements.))

I'm waiting for you two to start attacking each other...Maybe Thunder or Garret could pop in but until then, all three of us are stuck.
Aoleleb looked down from his little hole in the sky, this was gonna be interesting. He closed the portal and opened a new one slightly closer to their location. So Nether DID have the device after all. He couldn't decide what to do now. Should he try to help Nether in some way, or just let he battle take its course? He closed the portal for now. Maybe he'd look in in a while.
