((I'm currently diving out of the way of a tornado of doom, heh.))
-
Garret turned in time to see the tornado whirling its way to him. He closed his eyes for a split second, charging his attack and threw his hand forward, sending a whirlwind of psychic energy before diving off onto the arm of the statue.
-
Garret sighed, and was about to begin his climb down the statue when he noticed his feet were held firmly to the statue. He looked down and saw the stonework working its way up his legs, and before he knew it he was held firmly in place, barely able to move. Wow...awesome. Garret struggled for a moment against the hard rock before realizing it was fruitless.
He pulled his thoughts together, forming a tightly bound force around his body and released in a wave, cracking the stone around his body, loosening it enough to break free. He quickly pulled out his staff and shouted "What the hell!? Who are you! Too much of a wuss to show yourself?" -
Garret leaned on the edge of the building. looking south to the giant statue trying to formulate a plan. He looked over to Alex. "Can't exactly leave you here, can I?" * Hey Veru, how important is this mystery package? * * I dunno man. They seemed pretty desperate to get it back. * * What about the girl? Who's she? She's got a start tattoo on her eye, wears a lot of black, looks kinda gothy. * * Gimme a sec...Uhh...she got short hair? * * Yeah. She's got some roller blades too. * * Oh, blades? Shoulda said that...it's probably Dusk Shredder, AKA Alex. Hehe, always wanted to say "AKA." * * Yeah...whatever. What should I do with her? * * They were wantin' the package back pretty bad, so I'd say just leave 'er there. I'm pretty sure she'll be cool. *
Garret shrugged, and leaped over the side of the building. He climbed down at an impressive speed, using window ledges and fire escapes to slow his descent. Garret landed on solid ground soon after, and took off running to the statue. Reaching the rocky beach, he jumped over the water, mentally grabbing a sizable rock and drug it under his feet in time for him land on it, avoiding getting soaked. Garret floated to the small island, looking around for a sign of anything. He waved to Crimson, who merely grunted a reply. Well...he did say high up. Garret floated up to the top of the statue and jumped off on the head as he saw no one near. "Well...crap. Helllllooooo?" -
((Oh...sorry about that. I didn't read it close enough.))
-
((I know where I end up seems very coincidental, but I couldn't think of a way get both Garret and Alex back in the story. My bad.))
Garret's vision cleared as he and Alex emerged from the teleporter as it launched them into reality again. It released them close to solid ground, and he skid to a halt. He set Alex down as he looked around, and he saw they were on a rooftop. * Veru, if this building weren't here, I would have to kill you. * * Oh hey, man. good to know you didn't die. We din't know where you'd end up. It looks like somewhere in eastern Paragon. Like on an island or something. *
Garret studied the layout of the area, and saw the familiar docks, the ferry, and off in the distance he noticed the famous Portal Corp. building. He winced as a sharp pain reminded him of his ribs. He tore a piece of his khakis to make a bandage, and wrapped up his bleeding arm from the fight with the spiders. * Any news on whatever that package was? * * I sorta managed to get a trace on it, but it jumped around a lot when it swapped dimensions on me. All I got is it's somewhere south of the island, sorta high up. I don't think it's on Peregrine itself... * Great thought Garret. He sat for a moment, gathering his mind and healing some of the damage from his previous fight. Feeling more prepared, he stood and grabbed a nearby piece of scrap metal. He formed his will around it, making it identical to the bo he had lost in Grandville. He retracted it, and slid it in the loop on his belt. Garret rolled his neck around, popping it and looked to the south. -
((Sorry everyone...I've been very very very busy the past couple days with no looking of it slowing down. I'll post when I can. Besides this post. And sorry to hear, Thunder.))
-
Garret felt a cut on his arm, then quickly dispatched the last arachnoid with a mental blast. He stood straight, wincing from the pain in his ribs and saw H'taed destroy the five he sent with gusto. He started to limp toward H'taed, when he noticed the smaller red bombs congeal into a giant thing. "Oh...wow..." * Verugettheteleporteronlinerightnowdammit!!!! *. He shielded his eyes from the lightning bolt and sprinted toward Alex's limp form, gathering as much willpower as he could, forming a protective bubble in a small radius around him. He doubted it would do much against something that big, but he prayed it would help. He skidded on his knees next to the girl, enveloping her in the barrier. * Hey man, we think it works, but we dunno where it goes, and.... * I don't freakin' care!!! Do it now!! Garret picked up Alex and looked at the bomb.
The next few seconds were in slow motion for Garret as he saw the bomb suddenly explode, disintegrating everything, even the earth it touched. He turned and jumped off the pit he was near, and he felt an impossible heat building up behind him. He turned his head just as the blast almost enveloped his foot and he saw the familiar white and blue lights flash around him and Alex, whisking them away from the destruction. -
Garret looked around and saw the monstrous spider people crawling out of the pit. "Well...damn." Just as H'taed dropped Alex, Garret reached out with his will and held her in the air. Looking toward the spiders now he let out a wave of telekinetic energy, slowing them down in time for him to gently lay the unconscious girl safely on the ground. He turned back to the spiders in time to duck out of the way of a razor sharp claw.
He kicked up with his heel, cracking the offending arachnid in the mandible and sending it reeling back. Garret leapt back from the group and mentally rearranged five of the arachnoids priorities to see H'taed as the easy target. As the five charged H'taed, Garret swung out with his bo, connecting hard with the head of one creature, dropping it. He mentally powered his next attack and lashed out with a fist, catching another in the chest to send it flying back into the pit. -
Garret flew over the sea on his bike, knowing time was probably running short. He saw nothing but ocean but he knew he was headed in the right direction.
Suddenly all around him were flashes of blue and white, and in the next second, he found himself floating high above a dark, broken city. * Oh hey man, we fixed the telepor...oh. We broke it again. Hey, but we got you closer to Grandville, right? * Garret's bike plummeted toward the ground as gravity took over. As calmly as possible, Garret replied, Why am I 500 feet high! Oh! [/color] Garret looked around, searching for something to use before he painted the ground, and saw a familiar pink haired girl and the giant. Unfortunately, he also saw that he was falling toward the pit Alex was being held over. He pulled out his bo and extended it, readying himself for a rough landing At the last second he pulled hard, narrowly avoiding the pit jumped off, sending his bike crashing away. * Veru? * * Yeah man? * * I hate you. * Garret landed hard, knocking the breath out of him and he felt a crack in his ribs. He stood up groggily, facing the giant, who stood about 20 ft away. "Put her down... *cough* please." -
Garret looked up in time to see H'taed and Alex disappear in a red bolt, and Nether vanish in a cloud of darkness. He stood up straight, looking for any clues. Crap. * Hey Veru, did you see any of that? * Veru replied in his usual loud voice, * Yeah, and you totally blew it dude. Whatcha need? * Whatever man, can you get me a trace on...whatever the hell that red bolt was? * Garret walked over to his bike and picked it up, checking for any scratches while his comrade snooped around. Veru though back in a few minutes. * Oh hey, man, I think it went to Grandville. It's either that or...wait...no, just Grandville. "Should be fun." thought Garret aloud. Garret started his bike, and drove to the northern docks. He stood, concentrating his will on his motorcycle. It subtly began to change shape, the wheels rotating to be flat with the ground, then shaping themselves into a sort of fan. "Hell yeah." He jumped on his bike and cranked it hard, screaming over the ocean toward Rogue Isles.
OOC - Just to clarify, the black text will always be Garret's thougts. -
Garret rolled out of his dive, very glad that the bomb missed him. He winced as it stuck to a nearby woman and exploded with a massive blast. Garret stood, looking for an advantage as everyone seemed to be distracted with each other. He saw the pink girl dash off to an alley, then abruptly trip as she began to be dragged back by H'taed. Garret stood silently, staring at H'taed, concentrating his will around him and raising his hand, then slammed his hand toward the ground, mimicking the heavy invisible force above the armored giant.
-
As Garret flew toward H'taed, he saw the blade materialize right in his path. He twisted his body around the blade, barely keeping it from skewering him. Garret reached out with a hand and mentally shoved, trying to knock H'taed back with a telekinetic blast.

Garret rode his crotch rocket down the streets of Atlas Park, looking for his favorite burrito joint when a loud voice blared into his head. *Gary, there somethin' happening near you. Go check it out.* He weaved in and out of traffic as he thought back *Something? Hey man, you gotta be a little more specific. I can't just look for "somethin'". What's this "somethin'?" And can it wait 'till after lunch.* The voice, still too loud rang back *If it were something that could wait, I'd do it myself! Apparently some crate containing an unknown item has gone missing. Look for a skinny punk girl with pi...*
Garret rounded the corner just in time to see some giant knight slashing away at the girl he was looking for, and he wasn't pulling punches. Garret cranked up his bike, and screamed down the street toawrd the duo. He pulled his bo from behind his back just as the giant knight looking one scored a hit on the girl. Crap, thought Garret as he got closer. He readied himself as he pulled closer and closer, then leapt from his bike toward the giant, extending his bo to its full length.
EDIT ((I guess a physical description is in order. Garret stand about six foot even, has shaggy red hair, wears t-shirt and khakis, and has a permanent 5'o clock shadow. Looks to be about 22.))
