I'm really starting to dislike this, she thought. Feeling heat on her chest, she looks down to see another red glowing ball. "Not again," she growls. Knowing she couldn't take another explosion like that last one, she reversed the nether energy already flowing through her, concentrating it on the bomb.
Able to cover it complete this time, when it went off, she was knocked backwards with little damage, and was able to land after a semi-graceful backflip.
"I've gotta watch out for those things, any more and I'll end up like paste on the sidewalk." She charged back in, this time using the nether energy to protect her against energy.
She didn't know whether her Cloak of Fear had any effect on the rest of the group, either way it didn't matter know. She had to maintain focus on the brute and an eye on the rest, and she couldn't focus on all that and maintain concentration to fear all of them at once.
Hoping another shot would actually break through his amour, shadows seething from her fist, she went for an underhanded slam towards his gut. ((think the Smite animation))

Garret rolled out of his dive, very glad that the bomb missed him. He winced as it stuck to a nearby woman and exploded with a massive blast. Garret stood, looking for an advantage as everyone seemed to be distracted with each other. He saw the pink girl dash off to an alley, then abruptly trip as she began to be dragged back by H'taed. Garret stood silently, staring at H'taed, concentrating his will around him and raising his hand, then slammed his hand toward the ground, mimicking the heavy invisible force above the armored giant.

H'taed CAUGHT Nether's fist in his free hand.
"Why THANK YOU. I was begining to feel a bit tired..."
He slowly began to drain the endurance out of Nether.
Then the invisible force hit him and he was thrown like a rag doll into a nearby building.
Unfortunatly, he landed right beside Alx. He looked up, saw her not 3 inches away from himself.
".....Idiots.....Knocking me right into my goal....."
A lightning bolt struck H'taed and Alex, both dematerialized into it.
-----
In the Rogue Islands, Grandville, the lightning bolt struck the ground again. H'taed and Alex appeared.
They were standing in a wrecked part of the city. H'taed was clutching Alex by the throat, suspending her over a pit which dropped into a nest of Arachnoids.
"Ok. Now that we are alone. GIVE. ME. THE DEVICE."
OOC
You said we could be anywhere we wanted in the world...Hope this doesn't go against the grain. :P
Nether felt like she'd just ran a 50 mile marathon. She looked around for the brute and the pink haired girl, neither could be seen.
"Damn, now I have to follow them."
Cloaking herself in nether shadows, she headed for the rooftops. There, with a wide angle view of the city, she did a small ritual to scry the location of the package. After sever minutes of searching...
"Grandville!?! Why there? I hate spiders."
With that, she summoned a shadow gate, and stepped through to the Rogue Isles. Closing the gate she heads towards where she had scried the package at.

Triple T had seen the fight from his chopper and decided not to get into with everyone around there. Heading to a local Postboxes Futhermore, Tyler selcected a box that looked about the right size and shape of the package. Paying for the box Tyler headed back to where the fight had broken out.
To his suprise no one was there. Callign up his informant he was informed that the package had moved moved to grandville. Guess Tyler would be riding a ferry, today.
Garret looked up in time to see H'taed and Alex disappear in a red bolt, and Nether vanish in a cloud of darkness. He stood up straight, looking for any clues. Crap. * Hey Veru, did you see any of that? * Veru replied in his usual loud voice, * Yeah, and you totally blew it dude. Whatcha need? * Whatever man, can you get me a trace on...whatever the hell that red bolt was? * Garret walked over to his bike and picked it up, checking for any scratches while his comrade snooped around. Veru though back in a few minutes. * Oh hey, man, I think it went to Grandville. It's either that or...wait...no, just Grandville. "Should be fun." thought Garret aloud. Garret started his bike, and drove to the northern docks. He stood, concentrating his will on his motorcycle. It subtly began to change shape, the wheels rotating to be flat with the ground, then shaping themselves into a sort of fan. "Hell yeah." He jumped on his bike and cranked it hard, screaming over the ocean toward Rogue Isles.

Alex hadn't moved much. The thing that had grabbed her had pulled her to the ground, where she had knocked her head pretty hard. When she finally woke up she was being held over a pit, struggling to breathe, and looking H'taed straight in the eye.
"Give it?" she rasped out." She spit in his face, glaring as she slipped in and out of consciousness.

H'taed's eyes flash.
"Why am I even asking for it...? Your obviously in no condition to fight...I've been draining your endurance ever since we got here. I'll just TAKE what I need."
He did a quick thourough search of her with his free hand. It finally closed around the device.
"And here we are..."
He started to yank on the device.
Garret flew over the sea on his bike, knowing time was probably running short. He saw nothing but ocean but he knew he was headed in the right direction.
Suddenly all around him were flashes of blue and white, and in the next second, he found himself floating high above a dark, broken city. * Oh hey man, we fixed the telepor...oh. We broke it again. Hey, but we got you closer to Grandville, right? * Garret's bike plummeted toward the ground as gravity took over. As calmly as possible, Garret replied, Why am I 500 feet high! Oh! [/color] Garret looked around, searching for something to use before he painted the ground, and saw a familiar pink haired girl and the giant. Unfortunately, he also saw that he was falling toward the pit Alex was being held over. He pulled out his bo and extended it, readying himself for a rough landing At the last second he pulled hard, narrowly avoiding the pit jumped off, sending his bike crashing away. * Veru? * * Yeah man? * * I hate you. * Garret landed hard, knocking the breath out of him and he felt a crack in his ribs. He stood up groggily, facing the giant, who stood about 20 ft away. "Put her down... *cough* please."
H'taed paused, the device in his hand. He looked around and saw...
"YOU AGAIN? I do NOT have time for this foolishness. However..."
H'taed chuckled.
"I'm sure THEY do."
Behind Garret, the was another pit, leading down into another nest of arachnoids. Several of them had heard the crash and had climbed out.
"Meat. Kill. Eat." One of them said.
"Food." Said another.
The ten or so arachnoids advanced on Garret...
"Now as for dropping this useless baggage, I guess I can do that."
H'taed let go of Alex's throat. She was still above the arachnoid nest pit.
OOC
The arachnoids are NPCs who are independant of any of us, so anyone can control them really.
Garret looked around and saw the monstrous spider people crawling out of the pit. "Well...damn." Just as H'taed dropped Alex, Garret reached out with his will and held her in the air. Looking toward the spiders now he let out a wave of telekinetic energy, slowing them down in time for him to gently lay the unconscious girl safely on the ground. He turned back to the spiders in time to duck out of the way of a razor sharp claw.
He kicked up with his heel, cracking the offending arachnid in the mandible and sending it reeling back. Garret leapt back from the group and mentally rearranged five of the arachnoids priorities to see H'taed as the easy target. As the five charged H'taed, Garret swung out with his bo, connecting hard with the head of one creature, dropping it. He mentally powered his next attack and lashed out with a fist, catching another in the chest to send it flying back into the pit.
H'taed raised an eyebrow as the Arachnoids charged.
"I think not."
He rapidly conjured and threw 5 electrical mud bombs, each of which hit an arachnoid dead on.
Three seconds later, the entire area was covered it blood, guts, and arachnoid limbs.
"Seeing as I already have what I came for...I have no need to stay here. However, I'm going to leave you a little parting gift."
He weaved a pattern in the air. A mud bomb appeared.
He weaved the pattern in the air again. Another one appeared.
He repeated this process again and again.
All the electrical mud bombs fused together to form a big bomb of badass boom. In three seconds it would explode and blow most of this section of Grandville away.
"BOMB VOYAGE!" H'taed yelled. A lightning bolt tore down from the heavens and whisked him away along with the device.
-----
The bolt struck down outside the Grandville tower.
"Well then. I'd better get moving. Noitpeced, where is the meeting point?" He asked.
"Go through the Recluse's Victory portal. I have hacked into the Arachnos system and temporarily redirected it to shunt you into the Shadow Shard. You'll receive more instructions once you get there. Remember, what's in that box is worth more than your life. Do NOT lose it."
Said a voice in his ear.
"Right then..."
H'taed quickly navigated through the hallways of the Arachnos tower, and stepped through the Recluse's Victory portal.....
Nether, who's portal had deposited on a cliff near the arachnoid pit, got there just in time to see H'taed dissapear in a red lightning bolt, Alex be dropped and caught, and Garret begin fighting a group of Arachnoids. She had a feeling she knew where H'taed was going or he wouldn't have come to Grandville. Then she noticed the giant red electro bomb...
"Good thing I wasn't faster."
Quickly summoning another shadow door she stepped through to the Grandville tower and headed inside to where she thought he was going. As she saw H'taed head into the RV portal, she dove to catch him. Only able to get a hold of his heavily armoured boot, she begins to pull, hoping to get him out of the portal.

Garret felt a cut on his arm, then quickly dispatched the last arachnoid with a mental blast. He stood straight, wincing from the pain in his ribs and saw H'taed destroy the five he sent with gusto. He started to limp toward H'taed, when he noticed the smaller red bombs congeal into a giant thing. "Oh...wow..." * Verugettheteleporteronlinerightnowdammit!!!! *. He shielded his eyes from the lightning bolt and sprinted toward Alex's limp form, gathering as much willpower as he could, forming a protective bubble in a small radius around him. He doubted it would do much against something that big, but he prayed it would help. He skidded on his knees next to the girl, enveloping her in the barrier. * Hey man, we think it works, but we dunno where it goes, and.... * I don't freakin' care!!! Do it now!! Garret picked up Alex and looked at the bomb.
The next few seconds were in slow motion for Garret as he saw the bomb suddenly explode, disintegrating everything, even the earth it touched. He turned and jumped off the pit he was near, and he felt an impossible heat building up behind him. He turned his head just as the blast almost enveloped his foot and he saw the familiar white and blue lights flash around him and Alex, whisking them away from the destruction.
H'taed was almost entirely in the Shadow Shard when he felt something grip onto his foot from the other side of the portal.
"What the..?"
He sent a static shock down his leg, hoping to zap whatever was clinging to him.
Now Nether was a scrapper, and she was strong, no doubt about it. However, H'taed was a brute, and when provoked, they were physically stronger than scrappers. H'taed was stressed and very irratated after all the fighting over the box, being crushed by invisible pyschic forces multiple times, mauled by negative energy, smashed into the ground, and he has arachnoid blood all over his armor. And now something was tugging on his freaking foot.
He was pissed. Not enough to send him into a blood-thirsty fury, but enough to increase his strength sufficently. He tugged his foot with the force of a bulldozer.
Maybe this was a bad idea was the first thought that went through Nether's head when she felt the electricity run down H'taed's leg and through her body, but not one to be pushed off that easily, she held on. And apparently, he was a lot stronger than he looked, because even with her strength, he still pulled both of them through.
Nether is strong, and she can go for while without stopping, but two electric explosions, getting drained, fighting, and all the while maintaining her body as a link to the Netherrealm, took it's toll. Hoping to finish this, with the last of her energy, she summoned a rift below H'taed, allowing seething ((I love that word)) dark tentacles to come forth.
"If we're both lucky, you won't have anymore tricks up your sleeves. I'll get what I want, and you can live for another day."

(Yikes, I'm behind)
The speed of the melee was a problem. Threats were one thing, but not having a solid target was trouble - she disproved of the 'knock them all out and let the Zig' sort them out system in spite of that puffball knocking out anyone was unlikely.
After the teleport of the main scrappers she sighed and sat down, folding her knees by the slightly-hissing concrete where the bolt had struck. "I think I screwed up..." This clearly was more than just some odd vibe or new weapon frequency test. She held her hand up, tasting the air. She couldn't make out the destination or range, not being a teleporter - but the direction was towards the Isles. Still shaking her head, she took off towards the rail lines on Siren's Call, being the closest place she could beat a few tidbits of news off the Arachnos grapevine.
H'taed seemed calm as the tentacles immobilized him.
"You're quite right. I have no new tricks that I care to reveal at this time. However, I do have an OLD trick."
A red lightning bolt shot down from the sky and whisked him away from the rift in the nether. He reappeared about 20 yds away.
"You're probably wondering how I managed to conjure a lightning bolt in the Shadow Shard. The answer is over there."
H'taed pointed.
The Cathedral of Storms floated in the distance. A permanent storm surrounded it, created by the Psychic instability of Lanaruu the Mad.
"Now I must be off, or I'll miss the pickup. However...I like playing games..."
The portal leading to Grandville vanished behind Nether.
"You have a limited amount of time to get to the Cathedral of Storms. My master has a contract with Lanaruu the Mad. Once I get there, he will start to conjure a gateway to safety for me. If you can't get there by the time I'm through that gateway, you will be stuck here in the Shadow Shard for eternity. Cheers."
Another lightning bolt flashed down and whisked H'taed away.
-----
At the Cathedral of Storms, a lightning bolt lanced down and H'taed appeared. He was quickly surrounded by wisps and observers. Then they recognized him and relaxed. One of the wisps approached.
"Lord H'taed. It is a distict pleasure to welcome you to the Cathedral of Storms. What do you need?" It thought towards him.
"I need to talk to Lanaruu the Mad." H'taed said.
The wisp nodded.
"Follow me."
OOC
The Rularuu in the Shadow Shard are again, NPCs who can be controled by just about anyone.
"Well... that definitely didn't work out like I had planned it. Live and learn I guess."
Having worked with the Paragon Military in the Shadow Shards before, and even having defeated Ruladak the Strong, Nether knew her way around the Shards fairly well. Getting to the Storm Palace wasn't the hard part; getting there through hordes of Rularuu, and possibly having to get through both H'taed and Lanaruu, were.
Using minimal defense, and maintaining a cloak of shadows only she heads towards the Palace, steering clear of Rularuu soldiers. I wonder what happened to those two back in Grandville she thought, but didn't have enough time to think much more than that. An Overseer decided to look her way, and with their enhanced vision, saw right through her shadow cloak. Calling three Brutes, they were on her in an instant.
Having taken it slow for a bit, she had regained enough energy to fight, and calling forth dark energies, drained a bit of each of the Brutes' souls, exponentially adding to her own strength. A few well placed punches later, you had a faceless Brute, one with a gapping hole in its chest, and another the looked like it had died of absolute terror. The Overseer was no where to be found.
"God, I hope it didn't go to worn them..." she says as she puts her shadow cloak back up and continues towards the Storm Palace.
In the distance a slow chant of "Rularuu, Rularuu" can be heard.
((The nice thing about Cloak of Darkness is that there are only 2 mobs that can see through it, Rikti Drones for one, and unfortunately since we're in the Shards, Overseers are the other ))

H'taed was in direct control of his brainwaves and thought patterns due to have excelent control over electrical synapses, and so the Fear power did almost nothing to him.
When Nether charged forward and used Shadow Maul on him...
H'taed took the blows directly. He grimaced as she put huge dents in his armor. However the tribal runes in it negated most of the Negative energy. A few more hits like that and the runes would deactivate. He continued to pull Alex towards him.
He raised his free hand and planted it on Nether's chest.
"See you in hell, shorty."
When he removed his hand, there was another electrical mud bomb glued to her.
