Thank You Artists of Co* ~
Heh while I may not be flantastical as some of the artists here I do my best.
Thank you for the thank you.
Thank us? No, thank YOU! It really is very nice to be able to share something as personal as artwork in such a supportive community.
lol damn Gill's thank you was way better then mine.
Just like his art
Yeah, what Gill said... because I can't say it better.
Crap! Do we have to be humble?!
I was just gonna say you're welcome... well to those I have offended with my work
LJ
Well, I hate to one up the man, Gill Bates, but I'm gonna have to thank both the artists AND the art connoisseurs who make me try my best!! I would also like to thank my high school art teacher Mrs. Sherman, my technical illustration teacher Mr. Cronholm, and the guy that invented the eraser without which none of my drawings would be possible. Thank you.

Am I the only one who was going to thank the academy? >.>

Well said. Being fortunate enough to have gotten pieces from some very outstanding and unselfish artists, I offer a world of thanks and gratitude to those that are so giving of their time and talent for the benefit of everyone in this community!
<--- tends to be a lurker, not a poster in this section
But yes, some extremely talented people around here. It amazes me every time.

To be honest, when I first started looking through the forums, I was expected art that looked like 3rd grader did it, and everyone would rant and rave about it's greatness. While that's well and good, honesty and constructive criticism go a lot farther, and that's something I've seen here, as well as real talent.
The artists that post here really do amaze me, it's a gathering of people that don't post here because they're artist, they post here because they're sharing the same common ground interest we all have, an apparent love of the flair of comic book heroes. I'm one of the artists that post here, and I know the reason mentioned is why I show my work here.
Thanks to everyone for all the encouragement, and thanks to the other artists for showing your talents as well.
Jarwa got me thinking, yes I know a bad habit... but I wanted to clear something up about my posting here.
Originally I just wanted to see some cool comic art, my all time favorite kind. And while I've found that, something about playing this game, and yes the community's verve for it got me to thinking wait why not take up that pencil again and draw what you really love.
For a living I draw very commercial and mundane things, the farthest you can get from this kind of work. So drawing each and every toon that I have, has been a great pleasure for me. An almost guilty pleasure and I am finding this to be one of those journeys where you discover things not only about yourself, but about the work you want to come from within you.
This is very much like reliving my childhood, and teaching myself the kind of art I have always loved, even this late in the game, I think is a worthy goal.
I'm loving this forum, this community, you guys, and each and every new blank page I can fill with muscles, and hot girls in colorful spandex... yup definitely a boyhood dream.
Actually on that note, On Deviant today I've discovered an inordinant amount of young superbly talented girls 15 and above who make me wish I was 15 again. The girls back in the 70s were pretty scary... but their art is amazing, inspiring, and I am stealing every tidbit I can from them and drawing you guys... so wish me luck!

You've taken my point to the next level. That's pretty much exactly what I was touching at. My main toon, Atomic Blast Man, is the design of a hero I created 12 years ago, and have drawn on occasion ever since, of course he has gone through several costume changes... But the point is, seeing him in three dimensions, flinging balls of fire, flying around between buildings and orbitting the statue of atlas, takes me back to feeling like that kid again, only now I can see my hero in his full glory.
I think that's one of the best parts for anyone who's not a kid, seeing your childhood come to life right in front of your face. As an artist, it's like seeing my drawings come to life and dance around for me, then give me inspiration to return my hero to paper, but even better yet.
I'm glad for all the subject matter that lets me keep in practice, cause lord knows I still need a ton of practice

I am thankful that everyone tolerates those of us posting here to learn and get better. I have never had the guts to post anything I have drawn before, and can count on one hand the number of people that had seen anything that I had drawn before I posted in this forum. The supporsters and artists alike have been both helpful and inspirational. I hope to be able to do more soon (work is still frantic).
So thank you one and all!!!
Danke for the support.
Ok, forgive me but I've been phrasing this over and over in my head in an attempt to not sound overly sappy but not callous either. Also, forgive the occasional southern twang.
I want to thank the artists for links that are so damn awesome I wonder if/when ya'll are working professionally. Links that sometimes awe me and other times actually cause a spark of wonder... could I ever do something like -that-? Doubtful, but it still creeps in now and again. Drawings and pics that sometimes make me blush, sometimes giggle, sometimes ohhh and ahhhh, but always smile.
Also, to the entire community of Co*, thank you for letting me find my own voice without too much ire and also, without too much ado.
Thank you all.
Athyna remined me of something I should have mentioned.
The artists here push me to do better, to work harder to makes something that has a chance of getting noticed with so much great stuff out there. When, I gets praise, recognition or even advice from anyone here it really makes me feel good!
Plus, I must add, that this is the friendliest part of the cox forum land. We very rarely see gripping, harshness, or ugliness that creeps into other forum areas. I know this is mainly just people expressing their oppinions, and rarely is it malicious, but it is so nice to come to a truely friendly and supportive forum whever I want.

...aye. whiteperegrine and Citenik are a couple characters that I have had in one form or another for nearly 20 years now. while their costumes have changed slightly over the years their 'character' really hasnt. thanks to all the fine folks here I have been able to see at least one of them (so far ) from another perspective other than my own penciling and coloring.
this specific forum is the reason I lurk in the Co* forums in general. the people are great here...and the art spectacular...but that goes without saying though.
either way...again tanx Guys and Gals. ~

Without this comminity, I KNOW I would not be at the same level I am today.
Thanks to all of you.

I haven been going through the various threads and it really is stunning. the art that is posted here is durn good all around... the styles range vastly and there really is a lil something for everyone here, in regards to art style preference.
I just wanted to offer a heartfelt "thank you" to all the artists who post here. whether you are doing work for free or commission...it is all amazing in the end. more so that you all have the patience to deal with us wacko's out here...that alone tells me loads about your individual characters.
Thank You artists of CoH/CoV....may your pencils ever be sharp.
