Completely OOC... Odd things you notice here!
Meh, Archlich found Kairaishi to be useful in a fight. Which isn't one of the worst things Archlich can think of someone.
And for Balsk, well, I don't know. The only thing I can say in my defense is that Balsk's sword was forged for him by a god that he helped reclaim his throne and that he once had to survive for a couple of days on a planet entirely taken over by bloodthirsty robots. None of which I've actually written ecause Balsk is my most thought about, least written about character.
Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.
Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.
NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.
Oh, I actually expected to lose. 2.0 is more of the 'plan-ahead' type of hero. Kind of like Batman, but with Spider-Man's affinity for bad jokes at inappropriate times. He isn't supposed to win head-on battles on the fly, so... Well, he doesn't.
Okay, I think I've got something here. It seems, to me, that for undead vs. robot fights, I've gotta go overboard on numbers to be seen with a chance.
I can always blame this on my lack of strategy in attacking, but defending I have trouble with keeping the fight fair without going overboard on suicidal traps and such.
I'm not saying I have a problem with zombies getting taken down easily, but when you get to armored Knights and Liches with protective shields that get roughly the same chance, it makes me feel bad on the next city when there are twice as many.
This is mostly referring to past battles, not necessarily the one happening now, because most of the major player's on Toy/Acid's side are beaten, although its a bit of a draw seeing as the buildings in the city are all nearly destroyed...
But anyway, I'm probably guilty of the same thing, assuming a difference in metals can't be that much of a difference in how many swipes or acid volleys it takes to break em down, just saying that making a 3-1 ratio to make the fight last is a little... eh.

Heh, I was actucally surprised I managed to make Fyreflight hold her own against Granash and Balsk. If you would've had them force another round I'm pretty sure she would've fallen. Was very fun though.
Pinnacle
Heroes
When in danger, or in doubt; Run in circles, scream and shout.
Well, quite frankly, it's really hard to tell how a fight between an army of robots versus an army of undead would go simply because the two types operate in completely different circles. You wouldn't expect to find a horde of zombies in a science fiction book nor would you expect to see a legion of robots in a fantasy novel.
And if people are predisposed toward robots, it's because they are affiliated with science fiction, which takes place in the future, while zombies occur in fantasy which we generally consider the past. The dichotomy is that the future is always seen as more powerful than the past, hence, robots kicking zombie [censored].

As for WHY demons are so annoying...because it seems like everyone and their granny makes demonic pacts for awesome powers. It's cliche!
[/ QUOTE ]
Vampires are more cliche than demons. Just about all mythologies treat vampires the same, at least with demons there is a greater amount of variety to work with.
As for ATs, I get annoyed when people insist on not following them because it more often than not leads straight to tank-magery. As a GM it also makes my job more difficult when setting up challenging encounters if one or more characters is a walking plot device who can pull a counter for everything out of his back pocket.

I have a few things to explain the reason behind ADs Vampireism, In my SG we had a rather odd war againts anyone who looked even slightly vampy, so some vamp bit AD, the Demon part of AD is, well he has always been in a pact with Demons. The reason I kept AD a vamp is cuz vamps are cool.

Vahzilok are like Frankenstein. Living dead through use of technology. Blightlord's zombies are the traditional magic kind. But despite how they're created, all zombies are fundamentally the same.
Unless you make zombies out of bio-plasm from some sort of Sun World thingie.

Either way, you see what I mean by a bit of an imbalance. While I disagree, and think the zombies would kick robot [censored] any day, both sides viewpoints have to be roughly neutral for it to work out.

Well, what if I give viewpoints for both sides? It may end this war of Tech Vs. Magic!
Now, for tech, they have a lot of advancements. They have laser blasts, usually unresistable by ancient shielding, and armour plating, great for fighting blades or zombie fists, bites, or scratches.
However, they have the disadvantage of not being able to defend against magic, because they are supposed to defend against blades and other physical attacks, like guns or martial arts. Magic would most likely cause a nice overload.
So, zombies, it depends on what type of undead. Normal, stumbling, idiotic zombies are not SUPPOSED to defend against much. However, their dead weight keeps them from being totally destroyed by physical attacks, and gives them some nice 'oomph.' Knights are great in melee, giving them defense from the bot's melee attacks, but they will have a tough time of trying to defend against their blasters and other weaponry. The Lich uses pure magic, giving him a great advantage over the bot's shielding, and also would usually be able to defend against their range pretty well.
The stumbling zombies, however, have no GREAT defense. They may be able to take a little melee beating, but other than that, they are pretty damn screwed over when it comes to fighting bot's. Knights are melee-gods when fighting bot's, because of their armour and weaponry, but get them and range and THEY are screwed too. They may know a little magic, but it doesn't compare to the darkness of the Lich. However, the Lich using magic does not always save him. He may use magic to shield against most ranged attacks, and blast from afar, hitting bot's, but melee range, he will most likely be murdered. Next to no armour, and their dead weight advantage is moot, as a Lich is a necromancer who has been able to use enough dark power to keep himself alive beyond death.
Which is why from now on all of my Shotbots will come with jet thrusters and duel electro swords. Along with all their shotguns with their +5 bonus against undead.

You realize you are insulting yourself by saying that, right Khel? Think about it... How big would 'it' have to be to even fit ONE army up there?
I interrupt this thread to send the following announcment:
Waaargh!
zombies=fleshy
robots=not fleshy
zombies go down with a chainsaw and/or shotgun
robots require a bit more work
zombies are vulnerable to flesh eating viruses and fire
robots...not so much
robots are vulnerable to EMP
zombies are fleshy

Long live the new flesh!
What were we talking about again?
Actually, I have to join into the zombies vs. robots debate here.
I give you a handgun...and sic a zombie on you. Chances are you'll blow the zombie to bits, as we all know from bad zombie movies that a shot to the head will either kill or completely incapacitate a zombie.
I give you a handgun...and sic a battle drone on you. Chances are you'll empty that whole clip, and the bot will just laugh, if it has the ability to. Then it will proceed to turn you into a nasty smear mark on the pavement with lasers and - most likely - hydraulically powered melee attacks.
On the Grave Knight end, I can see this, but once again, thy need to be in melee to do well. If even the basic robots are coated in stacked force fields, which is VERY likely since both Acid and Toy use /FF, then the GK's advantage of enchanted weaponry and armor is reduced to a somewhat even playing field.
Then throw something with heavy artillery (Long Tom Daishi) or aoe protection (MPV wih dispersion + force bubble) and the qualitative advantage is clearly on the bots' side.
HOWEVER, it must be noted that Lichs, as they are used in these threads, not the in-game versions, bring this balance somewhat into whack again. Still, VERY often, range > melee, so I see no problem with undead needing to largely outnumber bots in order to win a head-on fight.
Now, if you're defending, and add traps to the undead side, then yes, I could see even numbers working.

Characters
The way to balance that out should be:
Robots, if defeated, are costly and time consuming to replace.
Zombies, just keep going as a legless one-armed torso and can be quickly reconstructed/replaced.
That probably isn't used as a balancing factor though. Also, what about natural vs. whatever? Are there any ninja or thug RP MMs? I haven't seen many.

a superhero martial artist can dodge bullets and can deliver kicks that knock off zombie heads.
but for the thugs and merc type guys? Same argument as robots in terms of offense, and zombies in defense, except faster and smarter
