try to answer this: lets say i'm your commanding officer and i tell you to spare the life of a hero raider we found in are base. what do you do?

kill the hero, then you as you are obviously unfit to lead.

I would shove the hero on to the ground and then pull out a small gun, and fire one round purpusely one inch away from hiting his/her head. Then i would demand to know what the hero was doing. After an interogation i would order my men to send the hero away, but with a good 'warning' first!

I'd beat the hero to within an inch of his life, and then let him go and if he died on the way back to his side, then it was his own fault.

My answer depends on the policy of our organization. In Arachnos, I would have to follow your order since Wolf Spiders are trained for loyalty above all. But if our organization has a more liberal approach to this sort of thing, I'd probably accuse you of treason, shoot you, and then shoot the hero. I'd then browbeat the men and alter the records to show that I was in the right. I always wanted your position anyway.

Statesman said let there be heroes, and there were heroes.

Lord Recluse said let there be villains, and there were villains.

NCsoft said let there be nothing, and there was nothing.

I would turn on you and accuse you of cowardice.

Unfortunately, that would be just the opportunity the hero would need to overpower us and escape.

After that we would both be executed by our superior officer, because failure is not tolerated.

Well, uh, seeing as how you never indicated what type of organization we work for, and I wouldn't willingly work for an evil organization, I guess I'd spare the guy.

I'd expect that order.

We built ourselves a jail section for a reason.

And an interrogation chamber.

That depends. I have always used the D&D alignment model of lawful/neutral/chaotic and good/neutral/evil. If I was "lawful evil" then I would obey the command without question. If I was "chaotic evil" then I might do anything, depending on my mood.

But if I was "pure evil," and you're my commanding officer, and you give me such a command, then what I do is kill the hero, then kill you and set myself up as Supreme Commander! Mwahahahah....

Just cus you have to spare his life, doesn't mean you can't maim the intruder a bit. *strolls off to find some rubber tubbing and a wood chipper*

Depends on my Villain. Apollo Rovenski believes loyalty leads to a long and happy life so the hero gets to live. He just gets to be experimented on and tortured for information

Shiva queen would problably not really know what was going on and encase teh dude in ice.

Orange Vengance, Its hard to say. depends on who. Most likely the guy would live.

Full Throttle, Depends on how riled up he is. When he gets going things get smashed.

Kill them both, loot the bodies and claim that they both died in combat with each other. Or that you were a traitor of sorts and were killed for the benefit of the group.

I’d drag the injured hero off to the death chamber, put him on a mercilessly slow dipping mechanism, and lower him into a pit of flesh eating fruit loops. Luckily for him, I didn’t remember he kept some type of rodent, monkey, bird, or other small and agile animal in his pocket. While he’s trying to keep me distracted with feigned begging, which I take as all kinds of funny shizit, the animal scurries across the pulleys and to the control panel. It presses a few buttons and luckily manages to stop the mechanism and unbind the hero. With a “Curses”, I flee the scene in my escape *thingamajig* before the last blow is struck, then the base proceeds to explode with the hero walking out triumphantly.

So, you’re dead now, and I followed orders.

wow alot of very odd answers but the answer is that you kill the officer because of his weakness to spare the life of an enemy.

Can't we just play a video game pretending we do it instead?

The thing about questions of morality is that there is no one 'right' answer. Therefore, we all got it right according to what we thought would have been appropiate in that situation.

I just think it's funny that the OP apparently wanted to start yet another "the only correct way to play your alignment" thread.

In a Superhero Game.

AND TOOK IT SERIOUSLY.

Of course we're not going to kill him. We get more for him from Doctor Vahzilok's Reapers if he's still alive. Duh.
