Is it even possible to reach the fury cap? My Test

How about doing something like happens with Domination? i.e., you hit Max Fury, and a big old FURY!!! logo pops up, ....

I'd love to see something like that. I was always kinda jelous to see all the "DOMINATION" pop over stuff. I'd love to see some sort of thing that hits when a certain amount of burst damge hits you when you're near your damage cap, "FURY" goes over your head, and every enemy you defeat while under the effect (5-10sec) has "SMASHED" appear over their head.
Fury should go up to 110%. It shouldn't have any significant effect past 100%, but there should be some buffer so that when you're at the point where you'd currently be hovering around 90-95%, you'd instead be hovering around 100%.

This could be balanced then by having Fury simply reset to zero afterwards.

Hehe, I like this idea! Though we already have an indication when we nearly tap out on fury.... case 1: We use up all endurance and fury drops dramatically cause we can't beat on anything. Case 2: case 1 plus we die because there are still several baddies beating up on us.
Has anyone else noticed this nasty habit of losing major amounts of endurance when Fury is building past the 75% mark?
And, are you sure that Fury is being built even on a miss? It seemed to me when playing my Brute that misses weren't building my Fury bar.

I tested this and it is possible to reach full fury for a brief period of time. You need to get attacked by several critters (preferably bosses) at the same time and will probably die by the burst damage but you can hit the 1.0 fury mark. Some of you may have experienced this but were too preoccupied with the whole dying thing without realizing you were at max fury.
I think what's misleading is that the fury bar isn't as precise as we'd like it to be. It goes up and down in increments of .1 so even though you're at .99 fury, the bar will look as if you're at .9 fury.
For all you numbers people, we're going to change fury to display in the 100s. When you right-click on the fury bar, you'll no longer see it display as 0.0/1.0. It will be displayed as 0/100 so you can see how close you are to hitting the max. Please keep in mind that this won't visually change the fury meter.
Note: Edited post so it says you need to get attacked by several critters instead of hit by several critters.

this is the problem with defiance also!

I'm still trying to get to a full fury bar. .9 seems as far as I can get still. I'm only level 16 though. I was hoping that when you have a full bar you see something also. I thought for sure there would be a Smash above there head. Sorta like the old batman show. That would just make my day!

even more clarity make it a numbers display and a bar... like a speedometer?
0-100 or 0-100%
you can even toss in decimals.

kind of off topic, but would make understanding fury growth easier to understand...
I've always wanted an option to click on/off a numerical display for all the numbers...health, end, fury domination, definace and anything else they ever come up with.
Sometimes, I just want to see the numbers and not have to try and float my mouse over the bar. I know from experience that some players prefer a numerical display of HP than a % bar display. I like the bar display, but it would be handy to have all numbers on demand.
I've had my fury bar litterally to 96 or 97%. Went on fighting trying to build it and it just drops and goes back up to that point even while I am being hit...
I have a lvl 22 SS / Stone brute, and constantly hit the fury cap with just brawl, jab, punch, haymaker, dont see fury go up as well while being attacked as I do while landing shots.

I wonder if we could get this changed so that our Fury has an "over-flow" option so that we have a slightly easier time to stay at 100%.
And getting fury on a full team can sometimes be a bit problematic... at time. On some teams I'm lucky if I can get to 20% fury (usually those without secondary buffs.)
Still here, even after all this time!
I never got close to cap when i was lower level, after 35 i seem to get about 97 percent. It is rare tho depending on mob , team, and what level the mob (boss, lt, etc)

or the "its confimred: brutes are pushovers" post in this section
i think i posted on page 9 if you are interested.
that is the post for my fire/fire build that when in decent sized mobs atleast even lvl or higher, stays way high on the furry bar (literally almost full when in a good fight). I noticed i have to switch attack strategy mid fight. I start with primary attacks to thin the mob, then move into brawl, boxing, scorch primarily then back to the more damaging cremate and incinerate. Using all attacks, keeps my fury bar close to 100%.
I haven't had time to test the fury thing but it seems i am limited to endurance since my respec. I have hit fury once and seen some eye popping numbers hit.
it is possible to hit the fury thing. I am using hasten and picking up a lvl one power at 32, using SherkSilvers planner. I had to respec the character using the guide and so far it worked.
Rechrge and hasten, with end red...those are what you need to keep the bar going up....
Brute don't play like tankers at all. Just remember that.

How hard would it be to have a /showfury command like the /showfps 1 to make a counter show up at the top of the screen for those that are interested and want to see the number. I know when I am furiously trying to build it up, I don't have time to right click the fury bar if I want to see what the actual number is.
I do know I would do /showfury 1 all the time on my brute, I am rapidly becoming a SMASH junky. I protect my fury, not myself, not my team -- when I get caught up in it. Just a couple of mobs left, they will be fine - that dozen over there will keep my fury going... I will just go SMASH them!

Ummm... no?!
The only acceptable graphic would be SMASH, and it would be really awesome if that when you're at 90% fury or above, you get random SMASH every now and then.

That is a great idea it provides a good solution for people that would actually like to see the number (me too pls!) while letting other people who might have different UI or display preferences enjoy the game the way they want to.
Super suggestion, which wouldnt seem to take a lot of programming. <-- oops dangerous assumption!
This Saturday in Sharkhead, I had just filled up on the usual insp from my contact. I was on a team with just 1 MM and the mission door was about 220yds from my contact. All of the sudden, BAMM!! the MM dropped like a ton of bricks. The culprit was the scrapyard monster. We all know, if you have ever seen it, that he likes to have around 50+ guys walkin with him.
Seeing as how my normal insp tray gets 5 greens/blues/lucks I decided to eat a few lucks and hurl a rock at the monster. So here he comes and all his friends. All his friends were -1 to me SS/EA so i knew that even with them -1 to me the sheer amount of guys attacking me will kill me.
So I decided to pull him the 200yds to my contact. I maintained 4 lucks at all times and wasnt gettin hit except from the demolitionist fire and a pot shot here and there(5% chance to get hit adds up when you have 60 guys attacking you---note: the monster doesnt follow the 17 mob aggro limit.
Anyway, I am fightin this monster dead in front of my store for insp. I'd buy as needed and take a few seconds to eat about 15-20 reds as they wore off. I wasnt payin much attention to the fury bar because i knew it would be high and all the reds I was eatin kinda made me forget about it to be honest.
All the beatin i was doing dropped him to about 65-70% health. So I glanced up at my fury bar and it was maxxed out BUT as soon as i stopped attacking it dropped to .9 and after a few seconds of continous attacks it would hit 1.0 for a second then back to .9
So it can be reached but only for a split second. Now Im not sure it can accomplished easily any other way. like i said the monster doesnt fall into the 17 or so max agro limit. If you attack the monster, his friends attack u. Givin the fact that it took nearly 50 guys beatin on me+ the monster+ my attack chain to hit 1.0 for a second or two, my suggestion is to just be happy with .9 and consider that maxxed out.
I've seen that crazy 1.0 fury. I lived too. =)
(I was at the time using my dark regeneration power though)
It was one of those insane war type battles where the f' if you know what is going on your just punching
i my experience with a brute i never capped fury soloing, only about 95% of the bar that i could see. When i was in a big group tho i remember capping it because i had the whole mob of 15+ baddies attacking me and i was firing off as fast as i could. the bar stayed maxed for most of the fight but i never did get to check the actual number (too worried about when to hit dark regen)
