COV Badge-aholics Anonymous
Well, I finally got Weatherman today with the help of some like-minded badge-aholics. One thing that I don't think has been mentioned much on that one, is that it's a very slow grind: we were averaging a grand total of three bosses a reset, ramped up to max and with 8 people. The map also spawns Tsoo; two of us finished off the Swift Steel gladiator and one of us got Tracer almost incidently.
Which puts me, however briefly, into a tie with Taser at 166. Go me!
There was some debate yesterday with an sg mate about hidden contacts. Does anyone have a list of these so called "mystery contacts"? For example, there is someone on CAD you can only talk to once you get the ghostbuster (or something like that) badge for trapping ghosts. Same for a SI contact with a scrap-something badge. This would be very helpful. Thanks

Yes Bendagon, the Vindicators are in game for you to take down.
Infernal can be found in the CAD Strikeforce. You can do that SF as early as level 15.
Mynx, and Back Alley Brawler are both offered in missions for Crimson Revenant. CR is an unlockable contact that offers missions for Villains 30-35. He is unlocked with the Hammerdown Badge, which you get by defeating the Ghost of Scrapyard.
Aurora Borealis is offered by Darla Mavis. Darla is one of your regular contacts offered in Nerva Archipelago. She is for Villains 30-35.
Luminary and Infernal (second appearance) is in a mission for Operative Rutger. He is a second tier contact in Nerva Archipelago. I believe that Lt. Demitrovich sends you to him. He is for villains 30-35.
Infernal appears for a third time in a Mission for Magus Mu'Drakhan. He is a third tier contact in Nerva and is referred to you by Operstive Rutger. He is for Villains 35-40.
Indigo makes an appearance in Arbitter Leery's story arc. She is in a timed mission, so be prepared to have a team handy to take her down. Arbitter Leery is an Unlockable contact in Nerva. You must have a respec badge to get missions from Leery, but he appears to be bugged and doesn't offer missions to everyone that goes to him. Leery is a 35-40 contact.

Yes, I've already bested them all but Indigo.
However, as they are apparently Vindicators and not the Freedom Phalanx (I was not aware of the distinction prior to this thread, but then my heroes never made it past 22) my question was: do they earn you the Annihilator badge, is the Freedom Phalanx itself available for defeat, or must we wait for future content to earn it?
The Freedom Phalanx is not available for a beating yet, but hopefully they will come out of hiding in I7 and take the beat down they so rightly deserve.

Just want to see if anyone else has had the same problem - I spent 7 hours in Bloody Bay earlier, no zoning, no log outs - the Irradiated 5 hour timed badge is nowhere to be seen. Have the requirements changed at all recently or are CoH/V hours half an hour longer than normal? Kind of annoying, spent a long time working on badges there to have the 'dead cert' fail to show up...
The next time you log into Bloody Bay with that character you should be awarded Irradiated and the Shivan Destroyer Gladiator.
Currently, the 5 hours badges require you to log out before you receive the badge.

[/ QUOTE ] If you're referring to the badge* that is over by the ship all the way in the corner of oil spill, that badge is rather easy to get if you just run within a 50 yard radius of where the ship hits the water, eventually you'll find it, if this isn't what you're talking about, then ignore this

These badges are bugged currently. You have to spend a total of 5 hours in the zones without zoning or going into mission. You can only log out but your toon must remain in that zone until you have a total of 5 hours. Then log out and back in to earn it. If you leave the zone for any reason at all you reset the timer back to zero. I have Bloody Bay and Siren's Call badges on 3 toons, trust me I have tested it quite a bit. First time was unintentional which is why the same toon ended up spending 10+ hours in Bloody Bay over the course of 2 days. I would suggest that if you want the badge find a safe hiding spot, easier for heroes then villains since the hospitals are not the same and heroes have advantage. Go do laundry, watch tv, read a book, or kill heroes or villains for a bit. Come back every 20 minutes to move around so you don't get booted for being afk. Also if you get a map server disconnect this also seems to reset the timer. Happened to a few when everyone in Siren's Call got the boot.

I'm at about 75% for Outcasts. Our problem is, if anyone picks up an ambush in the mission, you can't reset it right.

Well, I'm up to 170 now. Bonecrusher, Ironman, Mad Scientist, and the Legacy chain Lt gladiator are now done. For those who missed that last one, the second Veluta arc has been reset, and you can get sent on it a second time if you did it a while ago. Good Legacy LT farm. And, just for reference, MM/Bots healing other bots on your team counts for the healing badges; I hadn't done any healing myself for several minutes and was soloing a mission.
Serious question: Does anybody know for sure what is needed for Disruptor and Longbow Warden 2 right now? I somehow missed them when they were bugged, but I don't want to start grinding PvP, espically with a MM, until I'm sure it's fixed so you _do_ get them the right way.
The other question, is how many of these tricky badges are we going to simply be kicking ourselves on when issue 7 shows up?
Illusionists and Unveiler are going to be easier to get in issue 7, no question. Simply for the fact that Master Illusionists and Fake Nems won't be so rare in the 40+ game.
Disruptor, if you go by the badge text, is for 400 rep points. Since Reinforcement was given out as soon as I achieved the description on the badge now (kill 20 heroes), I'd assume Disruptor is working that way, too. I need it, too, since I didn't want to do PvP missions early on in fear of outleveling contacts.
I still need Outcasts and I think I can easily come by my third healing badge, so we should be tied by Monday.
Next week I'm focusing on Monkeywrencher and Illusionist.

Nope thats wrong, I figured out the reset issue a while back. I'm sure you have noticed the ghosts immage of players, either at train, ferry or the portals. If you try to reset the mission even though it says it reset the ghost image is still there in the mission and will not reset it. No more reseting while the last person is still zoning. You have to wait 5-10 seconds after the last person fully zones.
Is the sea witch mission given by Bocor the same as the one stated given by Golden Roller?

Is there anyone who can tell me where the Sweet Tooth badge is in Cap au Diable? I have all the other badges here and it's driving me crazy I can't get this one. I know it used to be bugged inside a building, but several people have told me it's been moved.
Any idea where it's been move to?

There's a truck parked beside the building where you think the badge is. In between the truck and the loading door, the badge is on the ground.

Ok, what happened is I spent 7 hours + in Bloody Bay PvP'ing, PvE'ing and so forth, pretty much non-stop action. I didn't zone, take a mission or log once - when I was ready for a break, I zoned back into Cap Au Diable and logged. When I logged back in, I saw the badge still hadn't appeared, so I zoned back into Bloody Bay - still no badge. I'm going to try logging in and out of Bloody Bay and see if that triggers it - if not, I'm going to be pretty annoyed. For me to stay in game without crashing in that time period is a rare thing.

I think that is what got you. The problem seems to be *any* zoning out, or taking missions within the zone, reset the timer. If you had *stayed* in BB, logging out your character, and then re-logging back in, you should have gotten it. I'm thinking zoning to CaD reset the timer for you :-/
Double check your badge windows though. Hopefully you got the badge and it just didn't flash the screen text for you.

I actually have...not a TM hero like Statesman, or Aurora or Mynx, but a hero nonetheless....doing my cape mission I fought 2 heroes! OUCH!
