Pet Damage

For quite some time now I've been wondering about pet damage, specifically its cap. Since I5 slotting is now 6 damage or 5 damage 1 acc, I was wondering if our pets are now nearing any caps. I've poked around for a while now but haven't been able to dig up much. One person told me that it was the same as the damage cap for the controller. I know most people don't need to worry about this since they don't go near the damage cap but as a fire/kin with tactics, that leaves me with 6 slotted damage fire imps. If I use Fulcrum shift on a group, am I going to be hitting the cap? I know it depends on the size of a group but assuming an average size spawn, when would I hit the cap, if at all?

We got derailed by my child's birth and I5 rollout, but a number of us were going to go to the arena to get solid Pet Damage numbers.

I managed to get them for PA and you'll find them in my Phantom Army Guide on the guides section. But for the rest of the pets, we don't really know.

Anyone up to running our trollers to test and trying to get some damage numbers on them?

Just to throw something at the wall, I suggest a meet Wed night at 8 PM EST.

I'll post details here. Anyone else in?

We'll want some high level tanks to abosorb the punishment if possible. No armors up, just HP and heals.

I'm glad that some people have shown interest in this, i really want to know more about Pets and damage. Anyone else going to help these brave souls test our pets out for us? I would but I don't have anything to contribute for these tests.

I can throw in Stoney, Sing or Phants. My question is how do you plan on buffing the pets damage? everyone respec into assault? or forts?

My earth is /emp so can fort.

This is in the arena, so there's no need to buff the pets' damage since we'll (hopefully) be able to read it straight off the combat log of the person getting attacked, which means that all damage enhancements should be removed from the pet. I will say though that I've occasionally had weird things happen to my combat log in the arena and you *might* not get all the numbers you want. If it's a time I can attend I can provide a tank without any passive resists and Aid Self. Wednesday or Thursday evening probably won't work for me.

Here's the Brawl Index I've tested on imps, Controller Brawl at level 50 is exactly 11.00 smashing damage for reference.
Imp Brawl (melee): 2.53 smashing, 1.00x3 fire (DoT)

Sorry, but not quite correct. What you are suggesting will gives us the BIs, however the goal is to find out what and IF there is a damage cap for the pets. For that the pets will need to be buffed, but incremently. So, to start off yes the pets will need to be stripped of all enhs, and then slowly added on. Yet I doubt 6 Dmg ++ SOs will be enough for the pets to hit the dmg cap, and thus they will have to be buffed by other means as well.

Yeah, forgot about testing caps, though last I tested it was 400% and I don't see any reason why it would have changed. But that can be tested either by yourself if you have the proper powers or with a single buffer to help. The reason to get a bunch of controllers on test and go into the arena is to get exact BI values for each pet's attack, which was Pilcrow's original intention back in July.

Btw, here are the BIs I tested for Animate Stone at level 32, my brawl is doing 8.44 smash damage:
Hurl Boulder: 8.30
Stone Fist: 5.06
Stone Mallet: 8.30

Edit: Probably won't make it tonight, good luck testing.

Was the imps dmg lowered recently? I use fulcrum shift on my imp now and do a max of 100 dmg and 40 DoT. Im pretty sure i used to be able to cap out at 63 DoT...

Was the base dmg lowered?

Last damage nerf to Imps was in I2 was far as I know, I haven't noticed a difference since then.

I can bring my Jack, unless we already have enough of those. Bah, I'll try to make it either way, just in case. Jacks melee dmg is pretty darn sick btw, when he's slotted 1acc/5dmg of course

We tested everything but singularity.

CircuitBoi, I'm calling you out. You gotte schedule a meet with me on test and have your Singularity slap me around.

Interestingly, some pet attack show up in your log and others don't seem to. But we demorecorede, too, so I ought to be able to deliver numbers on each attack. I will also do my best to time the attacks so we can make some DPS calculations.

Stay tuned. Probably nothing until next week. In-laws in town for weekend.
