CoH Pen and Paper RPG
[ QUOTE ]
You know I really hate to burst your bubble, but there was a Pen and Paper RPG called Heroes or something.
And it has been out for a while.
[/ QUOTE ]
Dude, there are like a dozen pen & paper superhero systems. That doesn't mean a new one isn't interesting.
[ QUOTE ]
The press release about the COH RPG indicated it would be a modified system version of the Eden Studios Unisystem. It was also meant to be as direct a translation as you could get for the Online game.
[/ QUOTE ]
Those are both correct.
We want to keep the core of the Unisystem but make certain the game still feels like City of Heroes.

That's Positron-Glider.

If I'm the only one who get's that joke, do I get pie?
"Yeah, you'll never mess with a guy with a Positron-Glider strapped to his back, huh?"
-Bill Murray, Ghostbusters
[/ QUOTE ]
Except it was "positron collider", not "glider". I was going to try to work in a joke about Posi getting a deal on vehicle insurance from Geko, but lynch-mob considerations deterred me.
Oh, and I think you're mixing two lines--part of yours comes from Venkman's line about them having "an unlicensed nuclear accelerator strapped to our backs".
I am such a geek.
The Way of the Corruptor (Arc ID 49834): Hey villains! Do something for yourself for a change--like twisting the elements to your will. All that's standing in your way are a few secret societies...and Champions of the four elements.
Warning! Manticore is a BAD man!
This is what I learned from my experience at the CoH PnP game. I got to play Swan during that game. Well, we all know that Swan wears gauze and dental floss and calls it a costume. What I learned was that she is SIXTEEN years old.
You would think, considering she is Manticore's sidekick, that he would tell her to put on a little more clothing. But nope, good old Manticore is enjoying the view and keeping his mouth shut. Like I said earlier, Manticore is a BAD man.
I wish I could be bad too.

Haven't you read the comic? Manticore is a pimp.

"Anyway from the looks of the character sheet, you're still getting powers exactly like you would in the CoH MMORPG by security level. You had 4 main Stats, Strength, Dexterity, and 2 others I don't recall off the top of my head alas. I believe these were rated 1-5.
There were also a number of skills you could have which I also believe were rated 1-5. A skill check involved Stat+Skill+1d10 to make a check with a 9 being average difficulty."
Sounds like it's somewhat based on White Wolfs 'World of Darkness' rules set. If so thats awesome! The WoD ruleset is one of the best, more freeform and roleplaying friendly PnP ruleset there is
Everything is D10 based, all stats go from 1-5 (generally). Checks to say, pick a lock would be like Dexterity + Subterfuge in D10 dice (IE 3 dex and 2 sub = 5 dice. Role with a difficulty of 6 average (this is based on revised WoD), number of successes = how successful a lockpicking that is.
I had hoped the CoH PnP game would be at least somewhat based off the WoD design. I'm overjoyed that it appears to be so

the game uses the UniSystem. The UniSystem was, I think, created by C.J. Carella and first appeared in the game Witchcraft published by Myrmidon Press. Eden Studios now uses the UniSystem (and publishes Witchcraft) for most (all?) of its games.
If you like the WW system you'll probably like the UniSystem; they feel a lot alike.

And yes we had no travel powers, we had the... Mynxmobile. Please don't ask, I was trying not to fall over laughing the whole time

BWHAHAHAHA! omg I'm dying here!! mynxmobile <snickers> How about the Statesman scooter? The Positronplane? or would that be the Posiplane? Thanks Luna for the laugh.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's Positron-Glider.
[/ QUOTE ]
No offense pos, but you seem a bit too heavy for a glider, what with that armor of yours.
[/ QUOTE ]
And besides... can't you fly anyway?
[/ QUOTE ]
No suppression when he attacks from the glider. I thought that would have been obvious. Posi has already told us that he doesn't attack anything that attacks the heroes in range of them since they are too low level and give him no XP, don't you think he's smart enough to find a way around the suppression as well?
If the game spit out 20 dollar bills people would complain that they weren't sequentially numbered. If they were sequentially numbered people would complain that they weren't random enough.

ah, damn, it's hard to hear during that scene (where they're trapping slimer).
Bill Murray does say, "...never mess with a guy with a positron (something) on his back huh?" and slimer groans. It always sounds like glider, I'm going to rewatch that scene a few times to catch the exact word. I'd hate to think that for 20 or so odd years I've been missquoting that flick.

I knew there was something about Manticore I liked, aside from hiis attitude and archery skills. Us Dirty Old Men have to stick together.

Hmmm, I too noticed an error in my character's (Luminary) description.
It said that she was built by Positron (which is correct, I think) but then it claims that she's also Positron's sidekick. Meanwhile, it does in fact mention Citadel(!) later on. Weird. I guess they had trouble fitting in Valkyrie?
[/ QUOTE ]
If Luminary was mentioned as Positron's sidekick, that was a typo. I will make certain it gets cleaned up.
[/ QUOTE ]
Or maybe it wasn't a typo and they're from the Virginia hills.
