Holy cow, I won!
Am I supposed to get a PM or something about winning? I'd like a Preatorian Clockworck costume. -
And people say the Devs don't listen to the players.
Quote:Silver Mantis Strike Force Update: The Silver Mantis Strike Force will now be available to all Villains, not just supergroups. You now can access the Silver Mantis Strike Force via Silver Mantis, located in Sharkhead Isle. You can also run this Task Force from your supergroup computer.
Positron Task Force Update: This Task Force has been split into two halves and dramatically upgraded and updated to ramp up the fun. The final battle of the Task Force takes place in the Faultline Dam and incorporates the new Dark Mirror enemy. -

CoH once again makes most other games look pathetic in comparison.
Animated character tails.
New strory arcs
Silver Mantis Strike Force open to everyone
Positron Task Force gets an upgrade
Loads of new Exploration Badges

I17 = Best issue ever! -
Quote:To me, Vernon von Grun is Stewie GriffinActually, I'd have had Vizzini voicing Vernon von Grun. "Laugh with me! Nyahahahahahahaha-" *thud*
BTW, had a fun conversation with our esteemed Dr. Aeon the other day - when I asked him who he thought should voice Aeon, his remark was "Dr. Aeon sounds like Antonio Banderas... at least, that's what HE thinks he sounds like."

Samuraiko/Dark_Respite
Some more:
Marshall Brass = Samuel L. Jackson. I can just hear him yelling "I've had it with these mother******* Goldbrickers on this mother******* island!"
Willy Wheeler = Vince, the Shamwow guy
Penelope Yin = Kuki Sanban AKA Numbuh 3.
Mr. Bocor = Fat Tony
Efficiency Expert Pither = Montgomery Burns -
Quote:If I was going to be there (I'd love to go, but I'm lacking the funds due to being unemployed) I'd totally bust out my crappy rendition of "It's All About the Infamy"* City of Karaoke: Bring your song parodies and your best (worst) singing voice! All parodies must be City of related. For those unable to provide their own I will bring a list of my own works including "I Like Big Buffs", "Welcome to the Task Force: Positron, yeah!" and "Just Another Malleus Mundi" for starters.

Dr. Aeon always sounds like Vizzini from the Princess Bride.
-
I can't be the only one that hears GLaDOS when they talk to Number 204.
For some reason Sciroco sounds like Liam Neeson
Black Scorpion sounds like Bowser in Super Mario Sunshine. (Bowser comes in at 3:50 in that vid)
The Radio sounds like Robin Williams in Good Morning Vietnam
Synapse sounds like Axel from Kingdon Hearts -
"Dude, I managed to sneak CoV onto this thing!. You think anybody will notice?"

Captain Blakstar - DP/Ice/Cold Blaster
He's a Robotic Pirate Ghost. -
In short, you can either:
1) Pre-buy the regular edition in March, and get dual Pistols 5 months early and Demon Summoning 4 months early, then buy the Complete Collection item pack on launch day for GR. You miss out on the free month though.
OR
2) Wait for the Complete Collection, which gets you one month of free play (and CoH/V if you don't have them yet) in addition to the item pack. You don't get DP and DS until GR launches though.
So either way, you don't get everything unless you buy both. It depends on which you want more, a free month or early access to the powersets. Personally, I'll take the powersets. -
Major Redraw Issues, my DP/TA/Mace Corr, holds up a Family goon:
-
We also had a few changes in the Paragon Studios staff, the most notable being that Positron is no longer the lead designer. That position is now held by War Witch. See this thread for the full story.
-
This thread remionds me of my MMs first encounter with a Balista. It went like this:
*drops Tar Patch under Balista*
"Go my minions! Go! Leave no hero stan-"
*minions come flying past me*
"Oh sh-"
*faceplant* -
All of these are absolutely brilliant. Here are my lame attempts:
Q. How many Giant Monsters does it take to change a light bulb?
A. We'll never know. They're too big to fit through the door to the building.
Q. How many Devs does it take to change a light bulb?
A. War Witch to lead the project, Jay to the bulb look sexy, Castle to design the effects of the bulbs powers, BABs to animate the bulbs powers, and several beta testers to make sure the bulb is WAI. -
The best place for leveling is called "The Hive." All the enemies in there are so weak you should be able to one-shot them at level 5 and they give crazy xp.
If you stare at Back Alley Brawler long enough, he'll send you a team invite.
Just so you know, being able to go inside of buildings is an exploit. If the devs catch you doing it you'll get banned. -
Quote:You missed one. Demon Summoning will (supposedly) include a Fire Whip for the personal attacks (Link for reference). Corrs don't have a Fire Whip primary yet.We have a primary for Corruptors now that match every mastermind move for each set.
Ninja--> archery
Zombie--> Dark Blast
Thugs--> Dual Pistols
Mercs--> Assault Rifle
Bots--> Pulse Rifle? -
* When you see the message "Arachnos Flyer patrol begining in Grandville" head over there. Find the Flyer (it's got a big purple name over it, hard to miss) get real close and click on the doors 50 times. It'll take you to the secret cow zone.
* You see that blimp flying around Atlas? There's an NPC standing on it that instantly levels you to 50, but you have to get to him with no help before you hit level 4. -
The only problem with screenshots of NPCs is that everyone will assume it's a PC and speculate about how we'll obtain the costume it's wearing only to have our hopes crushed in a nonsensical post from Jay a week later.

I like to come up with some fairly wacky characters and bios, but I know exactly who I'd like to make canon:
Captain Blakstar (DP/Ice Blaster, to be formally made when DP is available).
Here's his bio:
He's a robot, he's a pirate, and he's a ghost. How that came to be is a complete mystery. Don't think about it too hard, you'll just make your head hurt.
Blakstar is the captain of the Paradox, a mechanical ghost ship crewed by Robotic Pirate Ghosts. It is unknown just how long Blakstar has sailed the seven seas, but he has sailed along side greats like Blackbeard, Calico Jack, and even Captain Mako. Some say that the Paradox sails through time itself.
When Blakstar received word that Captain Mako was now working with Arachnos, Blakstar set out to the Rogue isles to defeat him, because in Blakstar's eyes turning your back on the sea is a cardinal sin that no real captain would commit. After leaving the Paradox in the capable hands of his trusted first mate Stan, Blakstar infiltrated the world of superheroes and villains to challenge Mako and strip him of the title of Captain in single combat.
One of these days I'm going to have to get around to finishing my Arc about Blakstar's campaign against Mako. -
I'm looking forward to side switching. Several of my characters will side swap for various reasons. Most notably, my 50 Scrapper will be heading to the Rouge Isles to search for his brother, who is a villain there.
The "End Game" content has me interested as well.
And I'm really looking forward to new lowbie content. I'm an altoholic, and running the same couple of arcs and contacts over and over gets very boring. -
If it's as usfull in PvP as it is in PvE, you can use it on a ranged character to hide from and ambush someone. That's about the only practical use for it I can think of.
-
I've been using "Bengrim" or "Bengrim The Bold" in games for years.
He started out as my Wolf Lord for my Warhammer 40K Space Wolves army. He wore Terminator Armor and wielded a Frost Axe called Ragnarok and a Strom Bolter.
Then I stared to use the name in everything. Bengrim was everything from the Hero of Time to a Pokemon Trainer.
Unfortunitely, Bengrim has never really gotten anywhere in CoH. He started as Bengrim, a Invuln/Axe Tank then became Bengrim The Bold, a WP/Axe tank. He is currently waiting for GR so he can be a heroic Brute because Brute fits his character better than Tank does.
He was also a Dwarf Warrior in my short time with Warhammer Online.
The only other characters that have existed in another game are Lord Darek (Dark/Dark Corr) and Korgoth the Dragon (Fire/Shield Brute) who were my brothers Chaos Lord and Demon Prince in his 40K Chaos army. -
I don't know what makes me more excited, the new foe or early access to DP and Demon summoning.
Also interested in the Complete Collection. All the extra stuff for $10 seems like a good deal to me. I just hope the Complete collection can be pre-ordered.
