Whats new with CoX

Hey gang. I took a few month Hiatus from CoX. I got fed up with some issues that I have totally forgotten about. I took the plunge and went CO. Played it and enjoyed it for a couple weeks and then I quit. The game as it is right now isn't worth sticking with. I'm not even going to get into the details, but I began to miss CoX.

So I'm back and asking whats new with CoX? Has the community grown or changed any? Any new challenges to tackle? I sooooo missed the teaming in CoX. They don't call it an MMO for no reason. Other games AH HEM kinda forgot what that meant.

Welcome home from the nightmare

The big enws right now, apart from the Dual Pistol close beta going on, is the rather unexpected announcement of Issue 17:

The Going Rogue release date is now scheduled for July.

If you've only been gone a few months, you haven't missed an issue, since the last released was Issue 16 in September. It's mostly been some smaller changes while the team works on Going Rogue. New cape mission for heroes, Martial Arts Pack, new Halloween event (which still triggers sometimes like zombie invasions), and the addition of a Walk power... bits and pieces here and there, but no huge updates that spring to mind.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

We also had a few changes in the Paragon Studios staff, the most notable being that Positron is no longer the lead designer. That position is now held by War Witch. See this thread for the full story.

Pretty much the only changes in that time frame were to the Holiday Events, not including the one going on right now. Hence the only lasting change is that the same action that triggered the Zombie Apocalypse (turning in costume salvage) now has the possibility of spawning the new event instead.

However, the new event is NOT soloable. At least a full team is needed, often two, so unless your server has a group that's actively trying to go for the badges from the event (six in total) there's not much you can do.

Q: How do you wreck an Abrams?

A: You crash into another one.
