I think he meant Juggy's piece was great, but not the same thought he had for his toon... but thanks for watching my back Tundy!

taint just your back. all yous artsy types need a lil love and like i said. if I was wrong I just gave a good example of good feedback vs bad feedback for free. -

Hehe, cool looking as that is not quite what I had in mind.

little nudge for you here. I hope more than that is said in PM about what you like and didnt like cause open statements like that leave artists frustrated since you didnt say a thing about what you liked or didnt.
and if you did I can make a nice example of you for others and you wont mind since you allready did it *grins* -

After our latest forum discussion about critiques I thought id post a non finished sketch specificly for critiques so that we can all putz around with and pick apart a sketch as well as get a feel for how the critiquing process can be handled .
Screenshot of my Blaster , Jinn Anne Tonic
The rough sketch for critiqueing fun
The sketch when finished will be a spot illustration for the Virtue verse wiki entry im currently putting together for the character inquestion, Here
And as a spot illustration won't have any background or strange blasts of energy emiting from them
So a few rules
1)only post with a critique and a way fix it . posting "nice pic" will get you a boot to the hind quarters
2)extra points for doodling on the sketch itself to help explain your points and how to fix them .(if you think it needs to be more dynamic draw a lil dynamism over the sketch and show your idea )
3)profit "Well seriously we all profit from good criticism "
Thats pretty much it and the gauntlet is thrown , i'll peek back in later and see what we have .

I know Gill doesn't need defending, but I just wanted to toss my two cents in....
13 months of wait... alright. Understandable to be frustrated, but good things come to those who wait. I'm upgrading a lot of my own commissioners for their patience since I'm still out from the car accident that nearly took my life. I can only IMAGINE what a chemical burn to the lungs did to Gill.
And yet he's still taking charge and being professional. Hat's off to him...
Artists are constantly dogged for long commission times. But I've a feeling that Gill and I share the same approach about commissions. Why would we want to sign our name to a piece that we didn't put our all into?
Would a commissioner be satsified with average artwork if it was done faster?
An average painted piece for me is 40 hours. That's 3.75 an hour. I don't charge what Gill does, because I'm not the same caliber or genre, but I do put my all into each piece... I can't speak for Gill, but I'm obviously not into commissions for the money, so to speak... but food for thought...

goat art is just as worth the wait too ( blatant plug ) -

I think there are a few factors at play here. The quality of craftsmanship you are looking for. How high the demand is for the artist you want to commission, and we must consider that things do happen in real life. The one that really pops out to me is Sayterras car accident and my chemical burn. Honestly for some pro's in the comic world I have heard of wait times going over 2 years. I also know other artists not in the gaming world that have VERY long queues for their work. Someone mentioned Graver, dude I would wait one year, two years, or as long as it took to own a Graver original.

proud to have one of the very fist graver pieces on these forums . I like to believe that I helped cause the frenzy
and I have said privately to both you and sayt that I understand the accidents and other RL stuff perfectly well and I have talked with DJ about knowing what the grind is like for art one of the many reasons I dont mind being a lot patient -
wooo hooo. sorry this sort of thing always interests me if i get too nosey bop me with a rolled up paper.

bad movie yes but I feel no shame in listing This as one of my favorites so I feel your pain turkey ( and I kinda liked Hudson Hawk too )

I have had two pending pieces out for over a year. one I paid half on allready and one I didnt. I havent pressed the issue because I know both artists are very busy and backlogged. however if i had known the wait was going to be this long for the one I paid on I might have said no. to me as the customer I try to be very understanding of artist schedules and that sometimes life happens. I do feel that once I am to the point of payment I have more of a right to be fussy about a timeline I just havent been so far because I love you guys and gals too much.
(edit) I didnt state anywhere that I was just giving my personal opinion on what is an acceptable wait if your one of my commisions dont think I am trying to call you out -
so umm what happens if they have to collect the insurance ?

*bumps this to find later*
I am a slow learner I guess and am having difficulty making heads or tails of this stuff at the moment ( or I could blame coughsyrup ) -
